Review Peter Ackroyd'un Dan Leno And The Lımehouse Golem'inde Londra Haritacılığı: Bir Katilin Zihninde Gezintiler(2018) Tekin, KuğuBu makale Peter Ackroyd'un Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem başlıklı romanındaki şiddet olgusunu incelemektedir. Makale romandaki şiddetin kaynağı olan şehir imgesi ile baş karakter arasındaki ilişkiyi ele alır. Makaleye göre okuyucunun gerçek kimliğini ancak romanın sonunda anlayabildiği acımasız seri katili yaratan, besleyen ve bir sonraki katliam için sürekli cesaretlendirerek adeta bir canavara dönüştüren on dokuzuncu yüzyıl Viktorya Dönemi Londra'sının sosyo-ekonomik koşullarında hüküm süren ziksel ve psikolojik güçlerdir.Yaşadığı tüm zorlukları aşarak çocukluk hayallerini gerçekleştiren ve genç yaşta başarılı bir müzikhol oyuncusu olan Elizabeth Cree kanlı sanatını makrokozmik bir tiyatro sahnesi olarak betimlenen Londra'da izleyicilerin beğenisine sunmaktadır.Katilin kurbanları arasında etnik köken, sınıf, cinsiyet ve yaş ayrımı yapmaması, okuyucunun katilin motivasyonunu anlamlandırarak mantıklı bir sebep-sonuç ilişkisi kurmasına engel olur. Postmodern anlatım teknikleri kullanılarak oluşturulan olay örgüsü yazarın hem dedektif romanı geleneğine meydan okuyarak türü yeniden kurgulamasını hem de okuyucunun önyargı ve varsayıma dayanan suç kavramı ve suçlu psikolojisi ile ilgili yerleşik algılarını yeniden sorgulamasını sağlar. Ayrıca, çalışanlar tarafından da iş-yaşam dengesini iyileştirmek için esnek çalışma uygulamaları giderek talep edilmekte ve önem kazanmaktadır. Buna karşın işyerlerinde esnek çalışan sayısındaki artış, örgütler için zorluklara yol açmaktadır. Esnek çalışma kurum genelinde tutarlı bir şekilde kullanılırsa etkili olabilir. Çalışanların en üretken saatlerde çalışması ve örgütsel bağlılığı artırması nedeniyle esnek çalışma örgütsel performansı artırır. Öte yandan, esnek çalışma politikası adaletsizlik algılarına yol açabilir ve çalışma ilişkilerini bozabilir. Ek olarak, çalışanlar için daha az iş-yaşam çatışması nedeniyle, mesleki stresin azalmasına yardımcı olmaktadır. Ancak, eğer bilgi akışı bozulursa stres yaratabilir.Bu kapsamda işgücü esnekliği, örgütlerin iç ve dış çevredeki değişen gereksinimlere uyum sağlamak için bir strateji olarak tanımlanabilmesine rağmen, hem işverenler hem de çalışanlar için zorluklar içermektedir. This sequential release occurs in response to different stimuli, including changes in pH, redox potential, enzyme activity, temperature gradients, light irradiation, and by applying external magnetic and electrical fields. Sequential release (SR)-based delivery systems, are often based on a range of different micro- or nanocarriers and may offer a silver bullet in the battle against various diseases, such as cancer. Their distinctive characteristic is the ability to release one or more drugs (or release drugs along with genes) in a controlled sequence at different times or at different sites. This approach can lengthen gene expression periods, reduce the side effects of drugs, enhance the efficacy of drugs, and induce an anti-proliferative effect on cancer cells due to the synergistic effects of genes and drugs. This study aimed to investigate the effects of media on patients' decisions to undergo cosmetic surgery. Materials and Methods Between March and September 2021, 82 patients participated in this study and informed consent was obtained from all patients. A questionnaire containing three different parts was developed by a consultant plastic surgeon and a public relations and marketing specialist, according to the literature. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS version 22.0. Results The majority of patients underwent rhinoplasty (31.7%), breast reduction (25.6%), and breast augmentation (12.2%). Some of the patients underwent two different operations (6%). The correlation analysis results showed that, there was a medium, positive correlation between wanting to be attractive and thinking that media is an important tool in the decision to undergo cosmetic surgery (r=.307, p<.01). Want to look like people on the media and compare themselves with those showing a positive and strong correlation (r=.640, p<.01). The photographs on the magazines affected the patients aged between 40-49 and 50-59 more (chi(2)(4) = 11,378, p<.05); however, the published news on the Internet affected the younger sample (30-39 and 21-29) more than the other age groups (chi(2)(4)= 11,808, p<.05). The participants aged 30-39 and 21-29 tend to compare themselves with people on the Internet. Conclusion The study concludes that media is not only important for disseminating beauty ideals but is also an important source during decision making. Olması gerekenhukuk açısından gerçek çözüm, Alman veFransız hukukunda olduğu gibi, işe iade veyatazminat seçeneğinin eda hükmü olarak ke-sin şekilde mahkemece karara bağlanması ilesağlanabilecektir.Review Journeying in Time and Space “through the Tall Heat That Slept”: Larkin's “the Whitsun Weddings”(Ovidius University, 2019) Elbir,N.B.This paper examines Philip Larkin's use of the metaphor of a train journey in his famous poem “The Whitsun Weddings” to transform time into space in such a way so as to enable the speaker to present a geographical and historical survey of the rural, urban and industrial landscape of mid-twentieth-century, post-war England, registering the social and cultural changes brought about by the process of modernization. The paper argues that the train journey functions as a metaphor for an imaginative journey, through time and space, that brings, in a characteristically discursive manner, Larkin's solitary and contemplative speaker from a state of detachment and superiority to one of heightened and thoughtful realization of the deeper implications of his perceptions as the train, and the poem near the final destination. In other words, the railway journey through the spatial and temporal metaphor of “the tall heat that slept” becomes a means of revealing and patterning the speaker's changing responses to the modern English landscape and English people. © 2019 Ovidius University. There are studies showing the usefulness of agile approaches in software development. However, studies on Agile maintenance are very limited in number. Regardless of the chosen methodology, software maintenance can be carried out in either a local (on-the-premise) or global (distributed) environment. In a local environment, the software maintenance team is co-located on the same premises, while in a global environment, the team is geographically dispersed from the customer. The main objective of this Systematic Mapping (SM) study is to identify the practices useful for software maintenance using the Agile approaches in the Cloud environment. We have conducted a comprehensive search in well-known digital databases and examined the articles that map to the pre-defined inclusion criteria. The study selected and analyzed 48 articles out of 320 published between 2000 and 2022. The findings of the mapping study reveal that Agile can resolve the major issues faced in traditional software maintenance, making the role of this approach significant in global/distributed software maintenance. Cloud computing plays a vital role in software maintenance. Most of the studies highlight the application of XP- and Scrum-based Agile maintenance models. The study found a need for more Agile maintenance solutions in the cloud, highlighting the importance of agile in software maintenance, both locally and globally. Irrespective of the environment, Cloud computing provides a centralized platform for collaboration and communication, while also offering scalability and flexibility to adapt to diverse infrastructure needs.
