The management of processes and people, who work in globally distributed teams, requires a high level of coordination and collaboration which needs to be based on established human resource management practices. The People Capability Maturity Model (People-CMM) provides a complete framework that enables quality in human resource management to be improved. However, today, the adoption of the People-CMM within organizations using Global Software Development (GSD) is not an easy task. This paper uses an empirical study to analyze the implementation of the People-CMM within the GSD context. The main objective is to highlight the current research and practice direction in these areas. The results are based on peer-reviewed conference papers/journal articles, published between 2000 and early 2011. The analysis revealed that most research has been done in project management, process management, knowledge management and requirements management areas while configuration, risk, and quality management issues could get only limited attention in global/distributed information system development. Prior to CPE, electrochemical behavior of the monomers were investigated in organic medium utilizing cyclic voltammetry (CV). The course of CPE was monitored using in-situ UV-VIS spectroscopic technique. Characterization of polymer products have been carried out using FT-IR and NMR spectroscopic techniques and thermal behaviors were studied using differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). This study uses the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), 2024 accident database to uncover systemic vulnerabilities through network analysis.MethodologyA bipartite network of 150,000 nodes and 250,000 edges was constructed using Python's NetworkX and visualized in Gephi. Centrality metrics identified systemic vulnerabilities, analyzing pilot error, crew error, and maintenance issues across general aviation, commercial jets, and rotary-wing aircraft.ResultsPilot error dominated general aviation accidents (70%), linked to single-pilot demands. Crew error was most prevalent in commercial jets (50%), highlighting multi-crew coordination challenges. Maintenance oversights in rotary-wing aircraft (45%) showed the highest betweenness centrality, underscoring their systemic impact.ConclusionTargeted safety measures include advanced training for general aviation pilots, optimized Crew Resource Management (CRM) for jet crews, and stricter maintenance protocols for helicopters. Integrating HFACS with network analysis provides a robust framework for mitigating systemic vulnerabilities and enhancing aviation safety.Review Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 5Machine Learning for Sustainable Reutilization of Waste Materials as Energy Sources - a Comprehensive Review(Taylor & Francis inc, 2024) Peng, Wei; Sadaghiani, Omid KarimiThis work reviews Machine Learning applications in the sustainable utilization of waste materials as energy source so that analysis of the past works exposed the lack of reviewing study. To solve it, the origin of waste biomass raw materials is explained, and the application of Machine Learning in this section is scrutinized. After analysis of numerous papers, it is concluded that Machine Learning and Deep Learning are widely utilized in waste biomass production areas to enhance the quality and quantity of production, improve the predictions, diminish the losses, as well as increase storage and transformation conditions. The positive effects and application with the utilized algorithms and other effective information are collected in this work for the first time. According to the statistical analysis, in 20% out of the studies conducted about the application of Machine Learning and Deep Learning in waste biomass raw materials, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) algorithm has been applied. Afterward, the Super Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest (RF) are the second and third most-utilized algorithms applied in 15% and 14% of studies. This article investigates the possibilities of sub-Saharan Africa as a sourcing destination in the software field. To find out the reasons why sub-Saharan Africa countries, in general, and Nigeria, in particular, are not considered a destination for global software development projects, the authors interviewed a set of professionals from Europe and Africa. Results indicate that there are many disadvantages and difficulties impeding Nigeria from becoming a preferred sourcing destination, mainly the absence of a strong software industry and the concerns about legislative, fiscal, and commercial premises. Our method is based on alternative representation of lifetime as a waiting time random variable on a binary sequence, and combinatorial arguments. Such an exact expression for the time to failure distribution is new in the literature. Furthermore, we obtain the probability generating function and the first two moments of the lifetime random variable.
