Article Citation - WoS: 45Citation - Scopus: 45An Ambipolar Low Band Gap Material Based on Bodipy and Edot(Elsevier Science Bv, 2009) Algi, Fatih; Cihaner, AtillaA novel donor-acceptor type conducting polymer based on BODIPY dye as acceptor and EDOT units as donor parts is synthesized electrochemically. The unique combination of BODIPY and EDOT units provides an ambipolar (n- and p-doping processes) low band gap material (4). This is the first example of p-n junction in an organic pi-conjugated material where BODIPY unit is incorporated directly in the main chain. Furthermore, the polymer film exhibits electrochromic behavior upon p-doping: a color change from light violet (neutral) to indigo (oxidized). (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. The new catalyst system comprised of copper phthalocyanine modified titanium(IV) oxide (TiO2) nanopowders (CuPc-TiO2\) was prepared by the wet chemical impregnation method to improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 and characterized by the combination of various spectroscopic tools including ICP-OES, P-XRD, DR/UV-Vis, FTIR, FE-SEM, SEM-EDX, BFTEM, HRTEM and N-2-adsorption-desorption techniques. The photocatalytic performance of the resulting CuPc-TiO2 in terms of activity and stability was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of MB in aqueous solution under mild conditions. Our results revealed that CuPc-TiO2 photocatalyst displayed remarkable activity (TOF = 3.73 mol MB/(mol CuPc + mol TiO2) x h) in the complete (100%) photocatalytic degradation of MB under visible light irradiation (150 W). Moreover, CuPc-TiO2 photocatalyst showed excellent stability against to sintering and clumping throughout the reusability experiments and it retained >80% of its initial activity even at 5th reuse, which makes it reusable photocatalyst in the photocatalytic degradation of MB. In a sequence of binary trials, suppose that each time a success occurs a random reward is received. The distribution of the number of trials until the sum of consecutive rewards is equal to or exceeds the level k is called geometric distribution of order k with a reward. We obtain expressions for the probability mass function of this distribution. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. The circuit model of the device is driven by two DC current sources, I(1) and I(2). Each junction is characterized by a nonlinear resistive-capacitive junction (NRCSJ). Having constructed the circuit model, time-dependent simulations are carried out for a variety of control parameter sets. Common techniques such as bifurcation diagrams, two-dimensional attractors and Lyapunov exponents are applied for the determination of chaotic as well as periodic dynamics of the superconducting junction devices. According to the findings, two states (namely superconducting and ordinary conducting) are determined as functions of the source currents. The chaotic current which flows through Rcp exhibits a very rich behavior depending on the source currents I(1) and I(2) and junction capacitances C(1) and C(2). The device characteristics are summarized by a number of three-dimensional phase diagrams in the parameter space. In addition, for certain parameters, hyper-chaotic cases with two positive Lyapunov exponents are encountered. In contrast to earlier studies claiming the need for a sinusoidal feeding current for generating a chaotic signal, our circuitry can easily generate one via a DC source. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. In this paper, the notion of q-moment determinacy/indeterminacy is proposed and some conditions for a distribution to be either q-moment determinate or indeterminate in terms of its q-density have been obtained. Also, a q-analogue of Stieltjes classes is defined for q-distributions and q-Stieltjes classes have been constructed for a family of q-densities of q-moment indeterminate distributions. S.; Qasrawi, A. F.; Elsayed, Khaled A.In this work, the design and characterization of CdSe/GaSe heterojunction is considered. The CdSe/GaSe thin film interface was prepared by the physical vapor deposition technique. Systematic structural and optical analysis were performed to explore the crystalline nature, the optical band gaps, the conduction and valence band offsets, the dielectric spectra, and the frequency dependent optical conductivity at terahertz frequencies. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed a polycrystalline interface that is mostly dominated by the hexagonal CdSe oriented in the (002) direction. It was also found that the CdSe/GaSe interface exhibits conduction and valence band offsets of 1.35 and 1.23/1.14 eV, respectively. The dielectric spectra displayed two dielectric resonance peaks at 530 and 445 THz. Moreover, the computational fittings of the optical conductivity of the interface revealed a free carrier scattering time of 0.41 (fs) for a free carrier density of 7.0 x 10(18) (cm(-3)). The field effect mobility for the CdSe/GaSe interface was found to be 5.22 (cm(2)/Vs). The remarkable features of this device having large band offsets and qualitative optical conduction dominated by a scattering time in the order of femtoseconds in addition to the dielectric property nominate the device to be used in optoelectronic technology. Engin; Keskin, Dilek; Machin, Nesrin E.; Duygulu, Ozgur; Tezcaner, AysenGuided bone regeneration (GBR) concept has been developed to prevent the formation of non-functional scar tissue layer on defect site by undertaking barrier role. In this study, a new bilayer membrane which consisted of one layer of electrospun silk fibroin/PCL-PEG-PCL incorporating nanocalcium phosphate (SPCA)(1) and one layer of PCL membrane was developed for GBR. To improve the osteoconductivity of membranes, nanosized calcium phosphate particles synthesized by Flame Spray Pyrolysis method were incorporated into membranes at 10% (wt) (SPCA10) and 20% (wt) (SPCA20) of the polymer content. The structural and chemical analyses revealed the well-integrated two layers of membranes with a total thickness of ca 100 mu m. In the regenerative layer, the highly porous mesh structure had a thickness of 12.6 mu m with randomly oriented fibers having diameters around 760 nm, and nanoparticles dispersed homogenously. The mechanical test results showed remarkable improvement on the tensile strength of membranes with incorporation of nanoparticles. Higher water affinity of nanoCaP included membranes was proved by lower contact angle values and higher percent water uptake capacity. Biomineralization assay revealed that nucleation and growth of apatites around fibers of SPCA10 and SPCA20 were apparent while on SPCAO apatite minerals were barely detected after 10 days. Human dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) were seeded on electrospun layer of the bilayer membranes for biocompatibility and osteo-compatibility study. Increasing narioCaP amount resulted in higher cell adhesion, proliferation, ALP activity and calcium deposition on membranes. These overall results confirmed the biocompatibility and potential applicability of proposed membranes for GBR treatments. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. F.In this study we have explored some of the properties of Yb/MoO3/(C, Yb) thin films as a multifunctional optoelectronic device. While the MoO3 films which are deposited onto glass substrate are found to be of amorphous nature, the Yb metal induced the growth of orthorhombic phase of MoO3. The films are high transparent and exhibit energy band gap value of 3.0 eV which make it sensitive to light signals in the near ultraviolet range of light. In addition, the frequency dependent capacitance-voltage characteristics of Yb/MoO3/(C,Yb) structure display pronounced accumulation, depletion and inversion regions that nominate it for use as tunable metal-oxide-semiconductor MOS device. The physical parameters including the built in voltage, barrier height, flat band and threshold voltages of the MOS capacitors are also determined. Furthermore, the current-voltage characteristics displayed high rectification ratio that could reach 1.26 x 10(4) at biasing voltage of 0.5 V nominating the Yb/MoO3/C device for use as electronic switches. On the other hand, the impedance spectroscopy analysis in the frequency domain of 0.01-1.80 GHz, have shown that the Yb/MoO3/Yb structures are more appropriate for microwave applications than Yb/MoO3/C device. The microwave cutoff frequency for the Yb sandwiched MoO3 exceeds 140 GHz. The return loss for the Yb/MoO3/Yb reaches 26 dB at 1.8 GHz. These values are attractive as they suit microwave low/high pass band fillers.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Temperature-Dependent Capacitance-Voltage Biasing of the Highly Tunable Tlgate2 Crystals(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Qasrawi, A. F.; Gasanly, N. M.The temperature effects on the capacitance-voltage characteristics as well as the room temperature capacitance-frequency characteristics of TlGaTe2 crystals are investigated. A very wide range of linearly varying tunable capacitance from 6.0 mu F to 60 pF was recorded. The capacitance-voltage characteristics, being recorded in the temperature range of 290-380 K, revealed a linear increase in the build in voltage associated with exponential decrease in the density of non-compensated ionized carriers with increasing temperature. The high temperature (up to 380 K) biasing ability, the linear tunability and the high dielectric constant values ( similar to 10(3)) make the TlGaTe2 crystals applicable in microelectronic components.
