Article Impact of Operations on a Series Per Reliability Perspective(2025) Yucesan, OngunThe Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) figures are the average of test durations between failure observations formed into a series. They can be seen to suit classical statistical distributions. An equally possible condition is that they are not stationary as a contradiction to the previous statement. In such worse conditions accepting availability of a concealed statistical property, this paper tries to identify the impact of Bi-sample Differencing and Bi-sample mean manipulations. In other words, operating on reliability observations series to reveal concealed statistical knowledge. Experimentation based on observation over a stationary series as a controlled experiment. As an outcome of experiments, the differencing seems to be alleviating the trend and seasonality to a degree. The bi-sample averaging is observed to be hiding variant conditions.Article Evaluation of Turkish Health System Capacity at Provincial Level by WISP Method Based on Weighting Methods(2025) Bulut, TevfikAmaç: Bu çalışmanın birincil amacı, Türkiye sağlık sisteminin kapasite ve kapasite açıklarını il düzeyinde göreceli olarak değerlendirmektir. Çalışmanın ikincil amacı ise R programlama dilinde kullanılan ağırlıklandırma yöntemleri için uygulama algoritmaları geliştirmektir. Yöntem: Sağlık sistemi kapasitesinin değerlendirilmesinde kullanılan karar kriterleri CRITIC, Shannon Entropy ve NMV yöntemleri ile ağırlıklandırılmıştır. İllerin sağlık sistemi kapasitesini değerlendirmek için WISP yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veriler Sağlık Bakanlığı'nın 2022 Sağlık İstatistikleri Yıllığı'ndan alınmıştır. Bulgular: Tunceli, Bayburt ve Kilis, CRITIC tabanlı WISP skorlarına göre Türkiye'de sağlık sistemi kapasitesi açısından 81 il arasında optimal çözüme en yakın üç ildir. Buna karşılık, Bursa, İstanbul ve Şanlıurfa optimal çözümden en uzak üç ildir. Özgünlük: İl düzeyinde, sağlık sisteminin kapasitesindeki boşlukları tespit edebilir ve geliştirebiliriz. Kendi kendine yeterli sağlık sistemi kapasitesi oluşturabilir ve sağlık sistemini daha dirençli hale getirilebilir. Öte yandan, ağırlıklandırma yöntemleri için uygulama algoritmalarının geliştirilmesi önemli bir katkıdır. Böylece karar vericiler küçük ve özellikle büyük ölçekli veri setleri üzerinde anlık çözümler üretebilir.Article Posthumanizm Tartışmasının Düşündürdükleri: Haddini Bilmek ile Haddini Aşmak Arasında İnsan(2021) Gençoğlu, FundaBu makale posthümanizm tartışmalarının ancak kadim ‘insan nedir’ sorusunun geçmişten bugüne doğurmuşolduğu epistemolojik-etik-politik tartışmalarla birlikte ele alındığında bir açılım sağlayabileceğini iddiaetmekte ve bunu gösterebilmek için, siyasal düşünceler tarihinde insanın düşünülüş biçimlerine dair orijinal birkategorizasyon sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada geliştirilen ve özgün bir katkı olması umulan kategorizasyona göre,epistemolojik-etik-politik düzlemlerde insan nedir sorusunun ele alınış biçimi ve verilen yanıtlar, ilk bakıştabüyük bir çeşitlilik/çoğulluk gösteriyor olmasına rağmen, esas itibariyle bu arayış bir sarkacın iki uçtasalınımını andırmaktadır. Bilindiği üzere, siyasal düşüncenin başlangıcı, yaygın olarak, mottoları ‘İnsan herşeyin ölçüsüdür’ olan Sofistler’e dayandırılır. Bu motto, burada bizim için bahsi geçen sarkacın hareketinebaşladığı taraf olarak ele alınmaktadır; diğer tarafta da onlardan hemen sonra gelen, siyasal düşüncede bir çığıraçtığı konusunda hemen herkesin hemfikir olduğu Sokrates ve onun ‘Kendini bil’ öğretisi bulunmaktadır. System design also has a significant impact on testing and maintenance activities, and on further improvements during the lifespan of the software system. Software design should reflect all necessary components of the requirements in a clear and understandable manner by all stakeholders of the software system. To distinguish system elements, separation of concerns in software design is suggested. In this respect, identification of the user tasks, i.e., the tasks that need to be performed by the user, is not currently reflected explicitly in system design documents. Our main assumption in this study is that software quality can be improved significantly by clearly identifying the user tasks from those that need to be performed by the computer system itself. Additionally, what we propose has the potential to better reflect the user requirements and main objectives of the system on the software design and thereby to improve software quality. The main aim of this study is to introduce a novel notation for software developers in the frame of UML Activity Diagram (UMLAD) that enables designers to identify the user tasks and define them separately from the system tasks. For this purpose, an extension of UML-AD, named UML-ADE (UML-Activity Diagram Extended) was proposed. Afterwards, it was implemented in a serious game case for which the specification of user tasks is extremely important. Finally, its effectiveness was analyzed and compared to UML-AD experimentally with 72 participants. The defect detection performance of the participants on both diagrams with two real-life serious game scenarios was evaluated. Results show a higher level of understandability for those using UML-ADE, which in turn may indicate a better design and higher software quality. The results encourage researchers to develop specific design representations dedicated to task design to improve system quality and to conduct further evaluations of the impact of these design on each of the above mentioned potential benefits for the software systems. © Copyright 2021 Ozcan et al.Article Citation - WoS: 11Citation - Scopus: 13Challenges in Agile Software Maintenance for Local and Global Development: an Empirical Assessment(Mdpi, 2023) Almashhadani, Mohammed; Mishra, Alok; Yazici, Ali; Younas, MuhammadAgile methods have gained wide popularity recently due to their characteristics in software development. Despite the success of agile methods in the software maintenance process, several challenges have been reported. In this study, we investigate the challenges that measure the impact of agile methods in software maintenance in terms of quality factors. A survey was conducted to collect data from agile practitioners to establish their opinions about existing challenges. As a result of the statistical analysis of the data from the survey, it has been observed that there are moderately effective challenges in manageability, scalability, communication, collaboration, and transparency. The effects of three different temperatures (1050, 1150 and 1250 degrees C) and holding times (15, 45 and 90 min) were investigated. The texture evolution of the samples was recorded via electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). The as-built sample is composed of bowl-shaped melt pools, a chessboard-like grain pattern and has a cube texture {100}<001>. Recrystallized grains were observed in the samples treated at 1150 degrees C for 15 min, as well as the samples treated for longer periods and at higher temperatures. Recrystallization was observed to start from high dislocation density regions, including the overlapping melt pools and the borders of the chessboard-like pattern. The initial cube texture transforms into a first-generation cube-twin texture {122}<212> via a twinning-assisted recrystallization mechanism. Then, those recrystallization nuclei sweep through the high defect density matrix; during which almost no new twins are formed. The samples treated at 1250 degrees C are almost completely recrystallized, which forms a weaker cube texture and a stronger P-orientation {011}<112>. However, the growth of recrystallized grains is very limited due to the presence of non-coherent precipitates. (C) 2022 The Author(s). Roman, günümüzde azınlıklar kültürel uyum sağladıkları ve İngiliz olma kavramını özümsedikleri sürece hoşgörülü olduğu söylenen İngiliz toplumunda Pakistan kökenli İngiliz vatandaşı, Isma, Aneeka ve Parvaiz adlı üç kardeşin varoluş mücadelesine dayanır. Küreselleşme sürecinde, özellikle 20. yüzyılın sonlarında güneyden kuzeye hareket eden göçmenlerin sayısı hızla yükselmiştir. Bu istenmeyen hareketlilik ve 11 Eylül olaylarının ardından gelen kaos ortamı batida yaşayan Müslümanların iki farklı grup olarak sınıflandırılmasına yol açmıştır: “ılımlı Müslümanlar” olarak anılan ilk grup batı değerlerine göre yaşamakta ve böylece hakettikleri düşünülen vatandaşlık ayrıcalıklarından yararlanmaktadırlar. İkinci grup ise aşırılıkçı görüş ve davranışları nedeniyle ilgili ülkenin vatandaşlarına sunduğu haklar ve fırsatlardan yararlanması sakıncalı bulunan kişilerden oluşmaktadır. Microstructural analyses showed that the high-temperature gradient and rapid solidification of the PBF-LB processing caused different resulting microstructures compared to conventionally pro-duced counterparts. The melt pool morphologies and laser scanning paths were examined in the as-fabricated samples in the XZ-and XY-planes, respectively. After the application of solution heat treatment at 1120 & DEG;C, the as-fabricated PBF-LB initial microstructure was still apparent. For solution heat treatments of 1200 & DEG;C and above, the melt pool and scanning path morphologies disappeared and converted into a mixture of columnar grains in the XZ-plane and equiaxed grains in the XY-plane. On the other hand, large equiaxed grains were observed when the samples were solutionized at 1240 & DEG;C. Additionally, g' phase precipitated within the matrix after all solution heat treatment conditions, which led to increase in the microhardness values. According to electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) analyses, both as-fabricated and solution heat-treated samples had intense texture with {001} plane normal parallel to the building direction. The first recrystallized grains began to appear when the samples were subjected to the solution heat treatment at 1160 & DEG;C and the fraction of the recrystallized grains increased with increasing temperature, as supported by kernel average misorientation (KAM) and grain spread orientation (GOS) analyses.& COPY; 2023 The Author(s). As nations constantly share their scientific and philosophical knowledge with others, translation takes on a key role in the transmission of not only knowledge, but also the advancement of all aspects of the source culture. In this respect, the Qing and Ottoman empires, after experiencing military defeats, were able to recognise the progress made by certain nations as a result of the Industrial Revolution. The knowledge transfer from these industrialized countries therefore became part of the attempts by states, private institutions and reformers to catch up with these countries in the area of development through increased translation initiatives. Trends such as these subsequently continued to shape the culture-planning processes in many countries. Against this background, the present study aims to shine a light on the parallel course of translation movements in the modernization processes of China and Turkey from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century. However, hyperphosphatemia is common, particularly in adolescents, reflecting suboptimal adherence to phosphate-binder medications and a reduced phosphate diet. We explored phosphate-related knowledge and adherence barriers in children, and their caregivers, using a sequential explanatory mixed-methods study design. Methods: Children aged 8 to 18 years with CKD stages 4 and 5, on dialysis or post-transplantation, and caregivers, were recruited from 3 UK pediatric kidney centers. The Phosphate Understanding and Knowledge Assessment questionnaire was used to assess knowledge. Online focus groups explored real-world challenges to phosphate control. Results: Forty-eight children and 43 caregivers were recruited; 44 (92%) children and 33 (75%) caregivers completed the questionnaire. Median knowledge scores were 64.3% (interquartile range, 55.3-78.6) for children and 72.7% (interquartile range, 64.3-85.7) for caregivers (P = 0.04). Older children scored higher (P = 0.01, R 2 = 0.13), but knowledge did not correlate with serum phosphate. Dietary restriction was perceived as more challenging than using phosphate-binders (59% children; 71% caregivers). Forty-six participants, including 30 child-caregiver dyads, joined focus groups. The following 5 themes were identified encapsulating the experiences of families: practical advice and support are valued; personalized strategies are preferred to facilitate sense-making; the social environment of the child and family is disrupted; education and self-management skills can influence success; and the journey requires acceptance, adaptation, and perseverance. Conclusions: In pediatric CKD, poor adherence to phosphate advice originates more from social and practical barriers than knowledge deficits. Our findings can inform personalized strategies to improve adherence in real-world settings.
