Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 7Some Almost Generalized (ψ, Φ)-Contractions in g-metric Spaces(Hindawi Ltd, 2013) Aydi, Hassen; Amor, Sana Hadj; Karapinar, ErdalIn this paper, we introduce some almost generalized (psi, phi)-contractions in the setting of G-metric spaces. We prove some fixed points results for such contractions. The presented theorems improve and extend some known results in the literature. An example is also presented.Article Citation - WoS: 15Citation - Scopus: 19Use of Uhpc in Bridge Structures: Material Modeling and Design(Hindawi Ltd, 2012) Gunes, Oguz; Yesilmen, Seda; Gunes, Burcu; Ulm, Franz-JosephUltra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) is a promising new class of concrete material that is likely to make a significant contribution to addressing the challenges associated with the load capacity, durability, sustainability, economy, and environmental impact of concrete bridge infrastructures. This paper focuses on the material modeling of UHPC and design of bridge girders made of UHPC. A two-phase model used for modeling the behavior of UHPC was briefly discussed, and the model was implemented in a preliminary design case study. Based on the implemented design and the reported use of UHPC in bridge applications, the advantages, limitations, and future prospects of UHPC bridges were discussed, highlighting the need for innovative research and design to make optimum use of the favorable properties of the material in bridge structures.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 5Concentration Dependent Different Action of Progesterone on the Order, Dynamics and Hydration States of the Head Group of Dipalmitoyl-Phosphatidylcholine Membrane(Hindawi Ltd, 2005) Korkmaz, F; Kirbiyik, H; Severcan, FInteractions of progesterone with zwitterionic dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) multilamellar liposomes (MLVs) were investigated as a function of progesterone concentration at selected temperatures monitoring both the gel and liquid crystalline phase, by using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). It has been show that the effect of progesterone on membrane dynamics is dependent on progesterone concentration. At 1 mol%, which is close to physiological level, progesterone behaves differently. At this concentration the decrease in dynamics is more noticeable. Additionally a dramatic decrease in the strength of hydrogen bonding in the interfacial region of the bilayer is also observed. When concentration increases up to 12 mol% opposite behaviour is observed at all interactions. Above 12 mol%, progesterone-DPPC interactions shows almost linear plot.Article Citation - WoS: 11Citation - Scopus: 8Coupled Coincidence Point and Coupled Fixed Point Theorems via Generalized Meir-Keeler Type Contractions(Hindawi Ltd, 2012) Aydi, Hassen; Karapinar, Erdal; Erhan, Inci M.We prove coupled coincidence point and coupled fixed point results of F : X x X -> X and g : X -> X involving Meir-Keeler type contractions on the class of partially ordered metric spaces. Our results generalize some recent results in the literature. Also, we give some illustrative examples and application.Article Citation - WoS: 41Citation - Scopus: 52Discussion on Generalized-(αψ, Βφ)-Contractive Mappings Via Generalized Altering Distance Function and Related Fixed Point Theorems(Hindawi Ltd, 2014) Berzig, Maher; Karapinar, Erdal; Roldan-Lopez-de-Hierro, Antonio-FranciscoWe extend the notion of (alpha psi, beta phi)-contractive mapping, a very recent concept by Berzig and Karapinar. This allows us to consider contractive conditions that generalize a wide range of nonexpansive mappings in the setting of metric spaces provided with binary relations that are not necessarily neither partial orders nor preorders. Thus, using this kind of contractive mappings, we show some related fixed point theorems that improve some well known recent results and can be applied in a variety of contexts.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1The Truncated q-bernstein Polynomials in the Case q > 1(Hindawi Ltd, 2014) Turan, MehmetThe truncated q-Bernstein polynomials B-n,B-m,B-q (f; x), n is an element of N, and m is an element of N-0 emerge naturally when the q-Bernstein polynomials of functions vanishing in some neighbourhood of 0 are considered. In this paper, the convergence of the truncated q-polynomials on [0, 1] is studied. To support the theoretical results, some numerical examples are provided.Article Citation - WoS: 21Citation - Scopus: 20Coupled Coincidence Point Theorem in Partially Ordered Metric Spaces Via Implicit Relation(Hindawi Ltd, 2012) Nguyen Manh Hung; Karapinar, Erdal; Nguyen Van LuongWe prove a coupled coincidence point theorem for mappings F : X x X -> X and g : X -> X, where F has the mixed g-monotone property, in partially ordered metric spaces via implicit relations. Our result extends and improves several results in the literature. Examples are also given to illustrate our work.Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 9On Cyclic Generalized Weakly c-contractions on Partial Metric Spaces(Hindawi Ltd, 2013) Karapinar, Erdal; Rakocevic, VladimirWe give new results of a cyclic generalized weakly C-contraction in partial metric space. The results of this paper extend, generalize, and improve some fixed point theorems in the literature.Article Citation - WoS: 29Citation - Scopus: 32Development of Decision Support Model for Selecting a Maintenance Plan Using a Fuzzy Mcdm Approach: a Theoretical Framework(Hindawi Ltd, 2018) Abdulgader, Fathia Sghayer; Eid, Rajeh; Rouyendegh (B Erdebilli), Babak DaneshvarIn complex decision making, using multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) methodologies is the most scientific way to ensure an informed and justified decision between several alternatives. MCDMs have been used in different ways and with several applications that proved their efficiency in achieving this goal. In this research, the advantages and disadvantages of the different MCDM methodologies are studied, along with the different techniques implemented to increase their accuracy and precision. The main aim of the study is to develop a hybrid MCDM process that combines the strengths of several MCDM methods and apply it to choose the best fit maintenance policy/strategy for industrial application. Moreover, fuzzy linguistic terms are utilized in all of the used MCDM techniques in order to eliminate the uncertainty and ambiguity of the results. Through an extensive literature review performed on studies that have used MCDM methods in a hybrid context and using fuzzy linguistic terms, a model is developed to use fuzzy DEMATEL-AHP-TOPSIS hybrid technique. The model with its application is the first of its kind, which combines the strengths of fuzzy DEMATEL in establishing interrelationships between several criteria, as well as performing a pairwise comparison between the criteria for prioritization using the fuzzy AHP method. Thereafter, the alternatives are compared using fuzzy TOPSIS method by establishing negative and positive solutions and calculating the relative closeness for each of the alternatives. Furthermore, six main criteria, twenty criteria, and five alternatives are selected from the literature for the model application.Article Citation - WoS: 62Best Proximity Points for Generalized α-ψ-Proximal Contractive Type Mappings(Hindawi Ltd, 2013) Jleli, Mohamed; Karapinar, Erdal; Samet, BessemWe introduce a new class of non-self-contractive mappings. For such mappings, we study the existence and uniqueness of best proximity points. Several applications and interesting consequences of our obtained results are derived.
