Department Business (English)(2002)We are a department that has been active for 22 years with the goal to determine the structural changes in economy and the problems of general business administration, to develop problem solving skills and to devise modelling techniques that fit our aims. Among our cornerstones are to graduate more students into administrative positions of our institutions, to help them realize their inner potential to be go-getters, to prepare them for the entrance exams for high-tier, well-respected public positions, and to help them participate graduate and doctorate degree programs at ease, nationally or internationally. In this regard, our course curriculum is constantly subject to updates. In addition, we do all in our power to graduate students that stand out, with double-major program opportunities. We make an effort to aid our students in kick-starting their professional life after completing a period of one semester at Private - Public institutions within the framework of our Cooperative Education Program.Department Mathematics(2000)The Atılım University Department of Mathematics was founded in 2000 and it offers education in English. The Department offers students the opportunity to obtain a certificate in Mathematical Finance or Cryptography, aside from their undergraduate diploma. Our students may obtain a diploma secondary to their diploma in Mathematics with the Double-Major Program; as well as a certificate in their minor alongside their diploma in Mathematics through the Minor Program. Our graduates may pursue a career in academics at universities, as well as be hired in sectors such as finance, education, banking, and informatics. Our Department has been accredited by the evaluation and accreditation organization FEDEK for a duration of 5 years (until September 30th, 2025), the maximum FEDEK accreditation period achievable. Our Department is globally and nationally among the leading Mathematics departments with a program that suits international standards and a qualified academic staff; even more so for the last five years with our rankings in the field rankings of URAP, THE, USNEWS and WEBOFMETRIC.Department Public Finance(2015)As an interdisciplinary area powered by economy, law and accounting, “The Department of Finance” aims to train experts in the field with unique courses such as “Public Finance”, “Turkish Tax System” and “Budgeting and Public Funding”. Atılım University opened the Department of Financing in the academic year of 2015-2016, becoming the first foundation university to open the department. With our competent staff, our Department grew and ranked the 6th in the list of department base points in its field. Thesis and non-thesis Finance - Tax Graduate Programs, started in 2019, constitute the first department under a such name with the aim to offer studies in the field of tax. We see Finance as a state tradition, and as a social science that shall always follow the changing era. As long as states take loans, and takes are collected, there will be a need for well-equipped experts of Finance.Department Textile and Fashion DesignThe Department of Textile and Fashion Design was founded to train versatile and sensitive designers, able to reach creative results through an artistic and aesthetic point of view. In this regard, the department offers an extensive syllabus that consists of theoretical and practical courses such as Basic Design, Sustainable Fashion, Experimental Design, Project, Art History to support the personal and professional development of students. At our department where all shareholders are constantly in touch, current developments are closely followed; while developing systematic and innovative practices catered for the field. Our students are granted an opportunity to work in leading companies of the sector before graduation through the Cooperative Education Model that integrates business life into education. In addition, the mandatory internship studies in the department program fosters the collaboration between the sector and the university. Moreover, with our academic agreements with many international universities, our students are granted the option to pursue their education abroad.Department Department Industrial Design(2009)World Design Organization, of which we are an institutional member, defines industrial design in a nutshell as “a trans-disciplinary profession that harnesses creativity to resolve problems and co-create solutions with the intent of making a product, system, service, experience or a business, better.” Industrial designers place people at the heart of the process. They perceive user needs in depth through empathy and apply a pragmatic, user-centered problem solving process to design products, systems, services and experiences. They are the strategic shareholders of the innovation process and are in a unique position to bridge the gap between various professional disciplines and commercial interests. They value the economic, social and environmental effects of their work, as well as its contributions in the creation of a better quality of life. Founded in 2009, our department offers mandatory professional courses, technical courses and professional elective courses to prepare our students to become well-equipped and competitive in their business life.Department Department of Social Sciences for University wide CoursesOur department offers compulsory courses “Turkish Language” and “Principles of Atatürk and History of Turkish Revolution” as envisaged by the Council of Higher Education as well as History of Civilization course to all the students at our university. Along with these compulsory courses, the department offers general elective courses comprising subjects such as social responsibility tasks, Women studies, culture and history. The purpose of compulsory Principles of Ataturk and History of Turkish Revolution course is to introduce and convey the foundation and fundamental values of the Republic of Turkey to the new generations and the objective of Turkish Language course is to study on our language with modern methods within the scope of the subjects such as language, literature, culture etc.Department Graphic DesignSince it was founded, the Atılım University Department of Graphic Design has adopted an approach in education where the most recent technology is applied within the context of the needs of the field, all the while fostering the connection with the traditional methods due to the nature of the profession. We help our students stay in touch with the professional technology with the state-of-the-art hardware and software, while they become creative, critical thinkers that are sensitive to the world around them, up to date with artistic developments and able to exercise unique reflexes in their design solutions. With our programs focusing on the language of universal design, our students have received awards in many international contests, having their work deemed worthy of exhibition.Department Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation(2017)Atılım University Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation opened in 2017. Our Department is among the few to offer a 4-year education in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation 100% in English. Physiotherapy aims to develop, sustain and restore maximum range of movement and functional abilities of people. Physiotherapists aid people at any stage of life when their movement and functions are affected due to factors such as ageing, injuries, diseases, disorders or environmental factors. Leaning heavily on practice, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation education is offered by our faculty members as experts in their fields and in clinical case simulations. Our program involves summer applications and clinical practice to develop the clinical skills of our students as future physiotherapists.The required studies are currently underway to initiate Graduate Degree education in General Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at our University.Department Interior Architecture and Environmental DesignThe Atılım University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design has developed an education program with an awareness where the discipline not only focuses on personal results through professional activities, but also involves the activities that are closely related to public security, health, comfort and welfare; aiming to improve the quality of life wherever possible, and catered to training creative and unique interior architects and environmental designers. In this scope, the mandatory and elective courses in the program cover the topics of designing, as well as devising and implementing projects for private properties, and public venues for education, shopping, entertainment, health care, culture, accommodation. With the fully-equipped Light and Color Laboratory and Acoustic Laboratories, the Department offers the opportunity to learn through observation and experience, and hands-on practice. The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is a member of the International Federation of Interior Architects/ Designers (IFI).
