Such a problem has been well studied for binary systems and components. In the present paper, we provide a way for modeling s-dependence between two multi-state components. Our method is based on the use of copulas which are very popular for modeling s-dependence. We obtain expressions for the joint state probabilities of the two components, and illustrate the results for the case when the degradation in both components follows a Markov process.Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 9Electrochemical Copolymerization of 2-Substituted Thiophene Derivative Linked by Polyether Bridge With Thiophene(Elsevier Science Sa, 2005) Cihaner, A; Önal, AMNew conducting copolymers have been synthesized via electrochemical oxidation of thiophene (Th) in the presence of monomer bis(2-thienyl)ethyl (1). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) studies showed that the presence of monomer I in the electrolytic solution greatly changes the CV behaviour of the formation of the polythiophene films. It is found that the increasing ratio of I was found to decrease electroactivity of copoly(I-Th). Electrochemical synthesis of copolymer films was achieved via constant potential electrolysis (CPE) in an electrolytic solution containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF(6)) dissolved in CH3CN. Spectroelectrochemical (SPEL) properties of the films were investigated using UV-vis spectroscopic technique. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V. Some diseases require an immediate diagnosis in order to improve patient outcomes. The usage of computers in medicine improves precision and accelerates data processing and diagnosis. In order to categorize biological images, hybrid machine learning, a combination of various deep learning approaches, was utilized, and a meta-heuristic algorithm was provided in this research. In addition, two different medical datasets were introduced, one covering the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of brain tumors and the other dealing with chest X-rays (CXRs) of COVID-19. These datasets were introduced to the combination network that contained deep learning techniques, which were based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) or autoencoder, to extract features and combine them with the next step of the meta-heuristic algorithm in order to select optimal features using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. This combination sought to reduce the dimensionality of the datasets while maintaining the original performance of the data. This is considered an innovative method and ensures highly accurate classification results across various medical datasets. Several classifiers were employed to predict the diseases. The COVID-19 dataset found that the highest accuracy was 99.76% using the combination of CNN-PSO-SVM. In comparison, the brain tumor dataset obtained 99.51% accuracy, the highest accuracy derived using the combination method of autoencoder-PSO-KNN.Editorial Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Economic Growth and Health Expenditures Relationship Between Oecd Countries(Frontiers Media Sa, 2023) Tengilimoglu, Dilaver[No Abstract Available]Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 8Analysis of the Two-Unit Cold Standby Repairable System With Damage and Repair Time Dependency Via Matrix-Exponential Distributions(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2021) Kus, Coskun; Eryilmaz, SerkanIn this paper, two-unit standby repairable system is studied via matrix-exponential distributions. The system under concern consists of one active and one standby components, and fails if either a damage size upon the failure of the active component is larger than a repair limit or the repair time of the failed unit exceeds the lifetime of the active unit, whichever happens first. Under the assumption that the damage size and repair time are statistically dependent, the Laplace transform of the system's lifetime is obtained. The Laplace transform is shown to be rational under particular cases, and the reliability evaluation of the system is performed via well-known distributional properties of the matrix-exponential distributions. The problem of estimating the unknown parameters of the operation time and repair time distributions is also discussed based on system's lifetime data.Article Citation - WoS: 84Citation - Scopus: 94Investigation of Micro-Combined Heat and Power Application of Pem Fuel Cell Systems(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2018) Budak, Yagmur; Devrim, YilserThis study focuses on the investigating different working temperature effect on Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) stack performance, micro-combined heat and power (mu CHP) application and their simple payback time. LT-PEMFC and HT-PEMFC short stacks were designed and analyzed for 480 W net power output. Liquid cooling method was choosing for the cooling the PEMFC stacks due for efficient mu CHP applications. The experimental studies were carried out by using 13 cells HT-PEMFC and 6 cells LT-PEMFC short stacks and design parameters were determined. 1.2 kW PEMFCs with mu CHP systems with different working temperature were designed based on electrochemical data obtained from short stack testing. The proposed PEMFC systems can supply electric and hot water. The highest mu CHP system efficiency was calculated with a value of 92% for HT-PEMFC based system. The corresponding electrical and thermal efficiencies are 48% and 44%, respectively. In this study, two important parameters have been analyzing: efficiency and simple payback time. By using mu CHP application, both natural gas and H-2 based PEMFC systems SPT values are reduced.Article Citation - WoS: 8Citation - Scopus: 8Berinde Mappings in Ordered Metric Spaces(Springer-verlag Italia Srl, 2015) Karapinar, Erdal; Sadarangani, KishinRecently, Samet and Vetro proved a fixed point theorem for mappings satisfying a general contractive condition of integral type in orbitally complete metric spaces (Samet and Vetro, Chaos Solitons Fractals 44:1075-1079, 2011). Our aim in this paper is to present a version of the results obtained in the above mentioned paper in the context of ordered metric spaces. Some examples are presented to distinguish our results from the existing ones.Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 6Physical Properties of the Bi1.5zn0.92-2x< Solid Solutions(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2016) Al Garni, S. E.; Qasrawi, A. F.; Mergen, A.The Hf doping effect on the structural, compositional, optical, electrical and dielectric properties of the bismuth-zinc-niobium oxide pyrochlore ceramics is explored by means of scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible light spectroscopy in the wavelength range of 200-1100 nm, temperature dependent electrical resistivity measurements in the range of 300-460 K and dielectric spectroscopy in the frequency range of 0.1-1.0 GHz. The optimum solubility limit in the Bi1.5Zn0.92-2xHfxNb1.5O6.92 solid solution is observed for the Hf content of 0.06. Increasing the Hf content from 0.03 to 0.06 decreased the room temperature, lattice constant, strain, dislocation density, optical energy band gap and electrical resistivity. It also increased the crystallite size and the dielectric constant. The energy band gap of the pure BZN (3.30 eV) decreased to 2.21 and reached 2.10 eV as the Hf content increased from 0.03 to 0.06. This behavior of the BZN suggests its suitability for optical applications of the visible region of light like photovoltaic devices. In addition, the remarkable increase in the dielectric constant from 258 to 280 and 456 nominates the Hf doped pyrochlore for passive mode operation devices like microwave capacitors. However, contextual factors such as subjective social status and an individual's cultural values, heavily influence social support behaviors (e.g., perceive available social support, accept support, seek support, provide support). We sought to determine the current state of social support behaviors and the association between these behaviors, cultural values, and subjective social support across regions of the world. Data from 6,366 participants were collected by collaborators from over 50 worldwide sites (67.4% or n = 4292, assigned female at birth; average age of 30.76). Our results show that individuals cultural values and subjective social status varied across world regions and were differentially associated with social support behaviors. For example, individuals with higher subjective social status were more likely to indicate more perceived and received social support and help-seeking behaviors; they also indicated more provision of social support to others than individuals with lower subjective social status. Further, horizontal, and vertical collectivism were related to higher help-seeking behavior, perceived support, received support, and provision of support, whereas horizontal individualism was associated with less perceived support and less help-seeking and vertical individualism was associated with less perceived and received support, but more help-seeking behavior. However, these effects were not consistently moderated by region. These findings highlight and advance the understanding of how cross-cultural complexities and contextual distinctions influence an individual's perception, processing, and practice of social support embedded in the changing social landscape.
