Problems Encountered by a Newly Graduated Graphics Designer
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Varol, T. Efe
Graphics design education should aim to prepare the student for the existing graphics and advertising market. It is assumed that it does. However, graphics design today is fairly wide, flexible and experimental. Such experimentalism may carry graphics design far beyond conventional two-dimensional design. Combining three-dimensional design with computer games, website interface requirements and the discipline of animation, new products can be created. This study deals with the developing graphics design world, graphics design education and different levels of graphics design requirements within the sector. Differences between the education in the university and the requirements within the sector will be analyzed. (C) 2012 Published by Elsevier Ltd. Parametric Sensitivity Analysis and Performance Evaluation of High-Temperature Anion-Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell
    (Mdpi, 2022) Mehrtash, Mehdi
In this paper, a three-dimensional model of a high-temperature anion-exchange membrane fuel cell (HT-AEMFC) operating at 110 degrees C is presented. All major transport phenomena along with the electrochemical reactions that occur in the cell are modeled. Since the water is exclusively in the form of steam and there is no phase transition to deal with in the cell, the water management is greatly simplified. The cell performance under various current loads is evaluated, and the results are validated against the experimental data. The cell performance is examined across a range of operating conditions, including cell temperature, inlet flow rate, and inlet relative humidity (RH). The critical link between the local distributions of species and local current densities along the channels is identified. The distribution of reactants continuously drops in the gas flow direction along the flow channels, causing a non-uniform local current distribution that becomes more pronounced at high current loads, where the rate of water generation increases. The findings show that while a higher inlet flow rate enhances the cell performance, a lower flow rate causes it to drop because of reactant depletion in the anode. The sensitivity analysis reveals that the performance of an AEMFC is highly dependent on the humidity of the gas entering the cell. While high inlet RH on the cathode side enhances the cell performance, high inlet RH on the anode side deteriorates it.

The Position of Three-Dimensional Modeling and Visualization Techniques in Industrial Design Education
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2012) Sarisin, Merve; Sarışın, Merve; Akiner, Dilem; Sarışın, Merve; Industrial Design; Industrial Design
The purpose of this research is to determine the position of three-dimensional modeling and digital visualization within the scope of concept and product development process in the undergraduate education in Middle East Technical University Faculty of Architecture Department of Industrial Design, designate the problems that the students encounter during the integration of these methods to the design process, and finally question how these methods can be incorporated into design education in order to influence the design process positively. The timing, content and structure of visualization and modeling courses within the 4-year undergraduate design education and the relationship of the knowledge given in these courses with the design studio should be considered.
