Article Citation - WoS: 41Citation - Scopus: 44Some New Fixed Point Theorems in Fuzzy Metric Spaces(Ios Press, 2014) Roldan-Lopez-de-Hierro, Antonio-Francisco; Karapinar, Erdal; Manro, SaurabhThe aim of this paper is to introduce a new class of contractive mappings such as fuzzy alpha-psi-contractive mappings and to present some fixed point theorems for such mappings in complete fuzzy metric space in the sense of Kramosil and Michalek. The results presented in this paper substantially generalize and extend several comparable results in the existing literature. Also, some examples are given to support the usability of our results.Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 13An Expert System for the Diagnosis of Sexually Transmitted Diseases - Esstd(Ios Press, 2017) Thompson, Temitope; Sowunmi, Olaperi; Misra, Sanjay; Fernandez-Sanz, Luis; Crawford, Broderick; Soto, RicardoOver 93 million people get ill with sexually transmitted diseases in sub-Saharan Africa. However, research has shown that people with sexually transmitted diseases find it difficult to share their problem with a physician due to societal discrimination in Africa. Due to this problem, we have implemented a medical expert system for diagnosing sexually transmitted diseases (ESSTD) that maintains the anonymity of the individuals. The patients diagnose themselves by answering questions provided by the system. This paper presents the design and development of the system. Forward chaining rules were used to implement the knowledge base and the system is easily accessible on mobile platforms. The Java Expert System Shell was used for its inference engine and the system was validated by domain experts. It is useful because it helps to maintain anonymity for patients with STD.Article Citation - WoS: 23Citation - Scopus: 25Comparison of Cellular Proliferation on Dense and Porous Pcl Scaffolds(Ios Press, 2008) Sasmazel, Hilal Tuerkoglu; Gumusderelioglu, Menemse; Gurpinar, Aylin; Onur, Mehmet AliIn this contribution, PCL (poly-e caprolactone) scaffolds were prepared by solvent-casting/particle-leaching technique in the presence of two pore formers, PEG(4000) or sucrose molecules in different quantities (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 55 w/w% PEG(4000)/PCL; 10, 20 w/w% Sucrose/ PCL). The surface and bulk properties of the resulting scaffolds were studied by SEM, DSC and FTIR. SEM photographs showed that, macroporosity was obtained in the PCL structures prepared with sucrose crystals while microporous structure was obtained in the presence of PEG(4000) molecules. Average pore diameters calculated from SEM photographs were 40.1 and 191.2 mu m for 40% PEG(4000)/PCL and 10% Sucrose/PCL scaffolds, respectively. The DSC and FTIR results confirmed that there is no any interaction between pore formers and PCL during structural formation, and both pore formers, PEG(4000) and sucrose, remained independently in the scaffolds. L929 mouse fibroblast cells were seeded onto PCL structures and maintained during 7 days to evaluate cell proliferation. Cell culture results showed that, 10% Sucrose/ PCL scaffold was the most promising substrate for L929 cell growth due to 3-D architecture and macroporous structure of the scaffold.Correction Influence of Water/O2 Plasma Treatment on Cellular Responses of Pcl and Pet Surfaces (vol 21, Pg 123, 2011)(Ios Press, 2011) Sasmazel, Hilal Turkoglu; Aday, Sezin; Manolache, Sorin; Gumusderelioglu, Menemse[No Abstract Available]Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 5Object-Oriented Inheritance Metrics in the Context of Cognitive Complexity(Ios Press, 2011) Mishra, Deepti; Mishra, AlokIt is important to identify modules that are fault prone or exhibit evidence of high cognitive complexity as these modules require corrective actions such as increased source code inspection, refactoring or performing more exhaustive testing. This can lead to a better quality software system. It has been found that inheritance has an impact on the cognitive complexity of a software system. In this paper, two inheritance metrics based on cognitive complexity, one at class level CCI (Class Complexity due to Inheritance) and another at program level ACI (Average Complexity of a program due to Inheritance), have been proposed for object-oriented software systems. Additionally, one more metric MC (Method Complexity) has been proposed to calculate the complexity of a method. These proposed metrics are compared with some well known object-oriented inheritance metrics by calculating their values for three random C++ programs. It has been observed that CCI and ACT are better to represent cognitive complexity due to inheritance than other well known class level and program level inheritance metrics.Article Citation - WoS: 15Citation - Scopus: 16On Cyclic (ψ, Φ)-Contractions in Kaleva-seikkala's Type Fuzzy Metric Spaces(Ios Press, 2014) Jleli, Mohamed; Karapinar, Erdal; Samet, BessemIn this paper we introduce the notion of cyclic (psi, phi)-contractions on fuzzy metric spaces in the sense of Kaleva and Seikkala, and we discuss the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for mappings satisfying such type of contractions.
