Also, mediator roles of PD, PR and EE are analyzed. Design/methodology/approach Data for the study were collected from 158 full-time nurses working in two hospitals in North Cyprus. Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the model. Findings The authors' findings reveal that cognitive emotion regulation reduces employees' WFC. WFC also has a negative effect on employees' SWB directly and through the mediating role of EE. However, the role of PR in the relationship between cognitive emotion regulation and PD was not significant. Originality/value The study adds the original views for hospitals and service providers to recognize the factors which exert detrimental effects on employees' mental health and also the factors which help them to tackle the harsh situation specifically in the time of crisis. However, AI adoption among dentists remains underexplored, hindering progress in oral healthcare. This study aims to identify key barriers to AI adoption and examine factors influencing dentists' intention to use AI.Design/methodology/approachA quantitative cross-sectional approach was employed, utilizing self-administered questionnaires distributed online and across various dental clinics and hospitals in Ankara, Turkey. A total of 440 dentists participated in the study. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and SmartPLS.FindingsThe study found that AI-anxiety negatively affects the intention to adopt AI in dentistry, showing a medium (almost large) effect that is stronger than other UTAUT factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence, which demonstrated only small effects. Dentists with higher anxiety about learning and sociotechnical blindness are less likely to adopt AI, while concerns about job replacement and AI-configuration have less but still significant impact.Research limitations/implicationsThese results contribute to the growing body of knowledge on technology adoption in oral healthcare and provide practical implications for technology developers, policymakers, and other stakeholders seeking to facilitate AI integration in dentistry.Originality/valueThis study provides novel insights into AI adoption in dentistry, offering guidance for future development and integration, and addressing a critical research gap in a growing field-particularly in Turkey, where implementation is still in its early stages.Review Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Artificial intelligence's impact on oral healthcare in terms of clinical outcomes: a bibliometric analysis(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2024) AlQaifi, Faten; Tengilimoglu, Dilaver; Aras, Ilknur ArslanPurpose - This study provides a comprehensive overview of the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) applications on oral healthcare, focusing on clinical outcomes. Design/methodology/approach - A systematic approach was used to gather articles from databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, PubMed, Web of Science and Google Scholar from 2010 to 2024. The selection criteria included articles published in English, focusing solely on clinical applications of AI in dentistry. Articles such as conference proceedings, editorial material and personal opinions were excluded. The articles were analyzed and visualized using Rayyan software, Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer. Findings - Results indicate that 120 publications were authored by 58 scholars from 92 institutions across 29 countries, with a notable surge since 2018. This analysis showed the significant emphasis on the use of deep learning, demonstrating its high accuracy and performance in oral healthcare, often exceeding that of dentists. It also proved that even though AI is sometimes seen as an auxiliary tool, many studies revealed that AI has a performance near dental professionals' levels. Findings concluded that the majority of studies indicate that AI is generating better clinical outcomes in oral healthcare. Practical implications - This study provides dental professionals with insights on integrating AI for better diagnosis and treatment. Policymakers and healthcare institutions can use these findings to inform AI adoption and training strategies. Evidence From 35 Countries Based on Globe Framework(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2025) Turek, D.; Wojtczuk-Turek, A.; Edgar, F.; Podgorodnichenko, N.; Okay-Somerville, B.; Fu, N.; Zhang, G.Purpose: The article discusses the relationships between sustainable HRM and organizational identification, conceptualized at the individual level, and the moderating role of cultural dimensions conceptualized at the country level (described in GLOBE’s framework). The study’s theoretical model based on social exchange theory proposes that sustainable HRM practice increases organizational identification. However, the strength of this identification depends on the dimensions of national culture. Thus, we assumed national culture functions as a second-level moderator in the relationship between sustainable HRM and organizational identification. Design/methodology/approach: We conducted the study with data from 10,421 employees across 35 countries. We used a multilevel modeling approach for data analysis. Findings: The study revealed the cross-level interaction effects of national culture on the relationship between sustainable HRM practice and organizational identification. Specifically, the results indicate that sustainable HRM strengthens employees’ organizational identification more in cultures with higher levels of gender egalitarianism and lower levels of humane orientation. Originality/value: This study demonstrates that the relationship between sustainable HRM practices and employees’ organizational identification is culturally sensitive. It highlights the need to consider cultural context when assessing the impact of sustainable HRM practices on employee outcomes. Through the collection and qualitative content analysis of milestone papers, this paper demonstrates the fragmentation of the concept of internationalization. Several recent empirical studies have examined the gender effects of education on economic growth or on output level using the much exploited, familiar cross-country data. This paper aims to undertake a similar study of the gender effects of education on economic growth using a panel data across the provinces of Turkey for the period 1975-2000. Design/methodology/approach - The theoretical basis of the estimating equations is the neoclassical growth model augmented to include separate female and male education capital and health capital variables. The methodology the authors use includes robust regression on pooled panel data controlling for regional and time effects. The results are found to be robust to a number of sensitivity analyses, such as elimination of outlier observations, controls for simultaneity and measurement errors, controls for omitted variables by including regional dummy variables, steady-state versus growth equations and different samples of developed and less-developed provinces of Turkey. Findings - The main findings indicate that female education positively and significantly affects the steady-state level of labor productivity, while the effect of male education is in general either positive or insignificant. Separate examination of the effect of educational gender gap was to reduce output. Originality/value - As evident in the literature, there is controversy surrounding the gender effects of education on growth. ErhanPurpose - Predicting customers' purchase behaviors is a challenging task. The literature has introduced the individual-level and the segment-based predictive modeling approaches for this purpose. Each method has its own advantages and drawbacks, and performs in certain cases. The purpose of this paper is to propose a hybrid approach which predicts customers' individual purchase behaviors and reduces the limitations of these two methods by combining the advantages of them. Design/methodology/approach - The proposed hybrid approach is established based on individual-level and segment-based approaches and utilizes the historical transactional data and predictive algorithms to generate predictions. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is experimentally evaluated in the domain of supermarket shopping by using real-world data and using five popular machine learning classification algorithms including logistic regression, decision trees, support vector machines, neural networks and random forests. Findings - A comparison of results shows that the proposed hybrid approach substantially outperforms the individual-level and the segment-based approaches in terms of prediction coverage while maintaining roughly comparable prediction accuracy to the individual-level method. Moreover, the experimental results demonstrate that logistic regression performs better than the other classifiers in predicting customer purchase behavior. Practical implications - The study concludes that the proposed approach would be beneficial for enterprises in terms of designing customized services and one-to-one marketing strategies. Originality/value - This study is the first attempt to adopt a hybrid approach combining individual-level and segment-based approaches to predict customers' individual purchase behaviors.
