How Assessment System of an Open Source Learning Management System Can Be Integrated To a Remote Laboratory Application? Problems and Solutions
(Ieee, 2007) Aydin, Cansu Cigdem; Cagiltay, Nergiz Ercil
Most of the education programs need an assessment system for formative and summative evaluation purposes. Similarly, in the ERRL* project which is a distance remote radio frequency laboratory application, assessment system is required. However, developing an assessment system cost is very high and requires some extra time for testing and development purposes. Open source systems provide these services in a standard way. Since the source is open, it is possible to make some modifications to better adapt these systems to the requirements of developed systems. Similarly, in the Moodle part of the system we need to integrate the test and the experiment platforms. hi order to better guide the learners in the system, they should take some tests about the devices and the theoretical content included in the system. It is important to prevent users Who do not have the enough knowledge directed to the experiments platform. These testing requirements should be integrated into the remote laboratory system, so that, the learners should not need to jump between different systems and interfaces. This article presents implementation process of open source Learning Management System software's assessment module to a remote laboratory application and it also discusses the advantages, disadvantages of using an open source Web based assessment system.

Use Cases and Object Modelling Using Argouml
(Springer-verlag Berlin, 2011) Complak, Wojciech; Wojciechowski, Adam; Mishra, Alok; Mishra, Deepti
The key factor in the process of good quality software development is using proper techniques for requirements elicitation, representation and modelling providing foundations to build a logical model of the projected system. One of the most popular functional requirements description methods is use cases and scenarios approach introduced by Jacobson in 1993. Use case diagrams and analysis of functionality necessary for future users of the system allows precise definition of object model of target software system. However there are few fully functional free CASE tools supporting system designer at this software development stage. The article describes process of creating guidelines and formal requirements for design of a software system supporting storage and analysis of data concerning regulatory duties of Polish Telecom (Polish name: Telekomunikacja Polska) in the range of RIO framework agreement regarding collocation with the free UML modelling ArgoUML tool.

Open Source Learning Management Systems in Distance Learning
(Turkish online Journal Educational Tech-tojet, 2010) Aydin, Cansu Cigdem; Tirkes, Guzin; Computer Engineering
This paper presents the major findings from evaluation the most widely used open source learning management systems and identify the most suitable open source e-learning platform. In this study, some analyses and comparisons were made about open source learning management systems the outcome of which was that Moodle was found to be outstanding with many features more than other LMS since it aims to improve the educational quality and include the tools that an e-learning system should have.
