    Team Decision Making Questionnaire Turkish Form (tdmq-Tr): Validity and Reliability Study

    Objectives: Professionals in the fields of education and health who work with children with special needs and their families should be in communication and cooperation. At each stage of these services, professionals specialized in different fields provide services to the child and family with different perspectives. In this way, it is ensured that children are evaluated in a multidimensional and comprehensive manner, and their families are informed. However, some difficulties may be encountered in the implementation of teamwork in the process of providing health, rehabilitation and education services to children and their families with special needs in Turkey. In the literature, although there are research studies on "teamwork" in some occupational groups in the field of health, there are no similar studies in the field of education. Based on this, a questionnaire is researched and this study is planned for the decision-making situation of the professional groups that provide services to children in our country. Materials and Methods: The aim of the study is to examine the Turkish validity and reliability of the Team Decision Making Questionnaire developed by Batorowicz and Shepherd (2008). 167 professionals working with children from both education and health fields participated in the study. Results: As a result of the statistical analysis of the data, the overall Cronbach α coefficient of TDMQ-TR was 0.96, the Guttmann Split-Two Half Reliability Coefficient was 0.92, and the correlation between both halves of the questionnaire was 0.86. The 19-item questionnaire is integrated with a single factor and 61.75 percent of the total variance is explained. Conclusion: As a result, TDMQ-TR is proven to be a reliable and valid tool for evaluating the team decision-making process.

    Retrospective Evaluation of Potential Rabies Exposure Cases Over Nine Years: Single-Center Experience

    Introduction: T & uuml;rkiye is the only European country where suspected rabies exposure from animal contact is a significant public health concern. In this study, we evaluate cases investigated in our vaccination center, where individuals with suspected rabies exposure have been seeking consultation for many years. The evaluation encompasses demographic characteristics, distribution by years and seasons, the type of animal involved in the contact, the prevalence of stray animals, and the rabies vaccination status of owned animals. Materials and Methods: The study involves cases reported to the Public Health Center from those who sought consultation at our center between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2019. Demographic characteristics, distribution by years and seasons, the type of animal involved in the contact, the prevalence of stray animals, and the rabies vaccination status of owned animals were retrospectively evaluated. Results: Over the nine years, there were a total of 39.731 cases, resulting in an average of 4414 cases per year. Of these cases, 61% were male, and 68.83% were between the ages of 15 and 64. The most cases occurred in summer and autumn. Of the suspected rabies contacts, 69% involved dogs, and 83.4% of these dogs were unowned. Forty-one point eight percent of the owned dogs were vaccinated. Eighty-nine point six percent of the cats were unowned, and the rate of vaccination among the owned cats was 28.2%. Over the years, there has been a decrease in the use of the 10 -day observation approach, while an increase in the administration of rabies vaccine and/or immunoglobulin has been observed. Conclusion: Seventy percent of all risky rabies contacts involve dogs, with a high rate of 84% of these dogs being unowned. To mitigate contact involving the risk of rabies, addressing the uncontrolled reproduction of stray animals, particularly dogs, and ensuring control and vaccination of the existing animal population appear to be primary measures. Improving the vaccination rate of owned animals, currently at only 30-40%, can prevent people from encountering risky rabies contacts, thereby potentially reducing the need for rabies prophylaxis significantly.

    Effectiveness of Regional Organisations in Solving Security Problems of North Africa: the Libyan Civil War (2011-2022)

    When the international competition areas and formations of power projections are examined, it is seen that the North Africa region is at the center of international conflicts and is being redesigned by the effects of global rivalry. Besides, the civil wars that swept through and shattered the Middle East and North African countries such as Libya have demonstrated the reality that Arab regimes and autocratic governments with very weak institutional systems are vulnerable to sudden popular events. The country has slid into serious political instability and civil turmoil ever since the collapse of the Gaddafi regime. After the beginning of the multi-sided civil war in 2014, which is also called the second Libyan civil war, Libya has been divided into two parts as the eastern and western governments. It is also seen that the African Union and the Arab League don’t have enough capacity to respond effectively to the crises that occurred in their area of responsibility. In this study, the current situation has been revealed by examining how effective the regional organizations are in solving the security problems of Libya. In addition to this, an evaluation is also presented about the necessity of viable strategies for developing their conflict management capacities.

    A Modeling Approach for Designing New Acoustic Materials

    In this study, mathematical modeling design based on Sound Transmission Loss measurement results of new acoustic material samples with natural content was carried out. Using the test samples in question, transfer function of acoustic materials based on electronic filter circuit design and a transition design method for the production of new acoustic materials by utilizing the transfer function is presented. Based on the experimental results of the test samples, it is the most suitable low-pass filter structure for the proposed design. In this study, active Sallen-Key low-pass filter structure is preferred and used. Sound Transmission Losses in dB (decibels) of acoustic samples were obtained experimentally for 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz. fundamental frequencies in the literature. Based on these data, transfer function simulation suppression gain results were obtained in TINA-TI program, active filter circuit designed, and MATLAB program. When the other results were compared in the experimental results, it was seen that very close values were obtained. It has been demonstrated that the proposed method can be used effectively in the design and examination of new acoustic materials.

The study was conductedwith 15 school of foreign languages instructors who were selected bymaximum variation sampling method during the 2018 and 2019 academicyear in Ankara. Semi structured interviews were conducted to gather dataand content analysis was used to analyse the data. The study emphasisesthat for the powerful school culture, instructors should focus on orientation,social activities, merit, and democratic management style.

    16s Bacterial Metagenomic Analysis of Herby Cheese (otlu Peynir) Microbiota

    Cheese microbiota may contain various bacterial species due to the use of different types of milk, rennet, and herbs. In this study, the distribution of the dominant bacteria present in the microbiota of herby cheese samples (n = 13) were examined by the next generation sequencing (NGS) technique. DNA was extracted both directly from cheese samples and after pre-enrichment. The metagenomic analysis of the NGS results revealed that Firmicutes were dominant both in DNA directly extracted from herby cheese (KOP), and pre-enriched samples (OP), at the phylum level. At the genus level, Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, and Streptococcus were dominant in the KOP samples, whereas in the OP samples, Enterococcus, Streptococcus, and Bacillus were determined as the dominant bacterial genera. Although Lactococcus raffinolactis and Streptococcus salivarius were dominant in the KOP samples, Enterococcus faecalis and S. salivarius were dominant in the OP samples. The Shannon species diversity index and principal coordinates analysis (PCoA) were used to determine the distribution in KOP and OP samples at the genus level. The PCoA of KOP-10, KOP-11, KOP-2, and KOP-7, KOP-3, and KOP-6 samples showed the wide distribution, whereas KOP-5, KOP-8, KOP-9, and KOP-14 herby cheese samples were closely related. The OP samples, especially OP-7 and OP-14, showed wide distribution in comparison to other OP samples. Finally, the dominant bacterial communities were identified by DNAbased metagenomic analysis, and this is the first report to elucidate the microbiota of herby cheese produced in Turkey using the NGS technique.

    Analyzing the Criteria Affecting Transition To Airplane by Comparing Different Methods

    This study, using the multi-vehicle approach, discusses the criteria affecting the transition from alternative transportation modes (car, train, bus) to air transportation between city pairs that neither have a hub status nor non-stop flights between them. If these criteria change, the demand for air transportation will increase. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in the provinces of Kayseri and Bursa, which are among the important trade, industry, and tourism centers in Turkey, in the course of three months between January and March, 2018. Logistic regression, the artificial neural network model, and clustering analyses were applied to the data compiled from questionnaires responded to by 501 individuals in Kayseri and 453 individuals in Bursa. According to the empirical findings, it was concluded that the most significant criteria in the transition to air transportation according to all three methods are the cost of travel/ticket price and non-stop flight. Additionally, it was observed that the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) model made more accurate predictions compared to others. This study is important since it compares three different methods for the purpose of criteria determination concerning the choice of transportation modes.

    Fitzhugh-nagumo Modelleri İçin Çatallanma Denetimi

    Bu yazıda tekil Fitzhugh-Nagumo (FN) nöron modelleri için teorik bir çatallanma denetim çalışması sunulmaktadır. Değişmekte olan parametreler için çatallanma analizleri MATLAB üzerinde çalışan MATCONT uygulaması ile yapılmıştır. Söz konusu analizde 5 Hopf (H) ve 1 adette Sınır Noktası/Eyer Dü˘gümü (LP) olgusuna rastlanmıştır. Hopf tipi çatallanmalar izdüşümsel denetim ile desteklenmiş arındırma süzgeçleri kullanılarak sağlanmıştır. Arındırma süzgeçleri birinci ve ikinci derece olarak uygulanmıştır. Birinci derece süzgeç ikinci dereceye göre daha avantajlı oldu˘gu anlaşılmıştır. Birinci derece süzgeç hem daha uygulanabilir olmakta hem de daha hızlı davranmaktadır. LP türü çatallanmalar için derecesinden bağımsız olarak arındırma süzgecinden yapılan çıktı geri beslemesi başarılı olamamakta ve bu nedenle birini derece süzgecle beraber birde zar potansiyelinden ek bir geri besleme alınmaktadır. Bunun dezavantajı süzgecin yüksek geçirgen niteli˘ginin bozulmasına neden olmakta ve LP denge noktasının korunmasına olanak vermemektedir. Bu soruna çözüm olması için doğrusal olmayan bir denetleyici tasarımıda gösterilmektedir. Bunun tek dezavantajı orjinal denge noktaları korunamaktadır. Sonuçlar benzetimlerle desteklenmektedir.

    Hegemonık Erkekliğin İnşası: Fitness ve Oyunların Kesişimi

    Bu araştırma, hegemonik erkekliğin inşası çerçevesinde fitness ve oyun alanlarına ilişkin tüketim pratiklerinin kesişimine odaklanmaktadır. Nitel araştırma paradigması içerisinde, her iki alanda da aktif olarak yer alan yedi erkek katılımcı ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Altı aşamalı tematik analizin sonuçları altı farklı tema ortaya koymuştur: üstünlük ve rekabetçilik, güç ve performans, başarılar ve kazançlar. Bu alanlardaki tüketim, normatif ve yüceltilmiş eril değerleri güçlendirmektedir. Katılımcılar, Baudrillard'ın eril tüketim modeline uygun olarak nesnel ve rasyonelleştirilmiş tüketim pratiklerini vurgulamışlardır. Bulgular, fitness ve oyunların hegemonik erkekliğin tüketim kalıpları aracılığıyla sürdürüldüğü platformlar olarak algılandığını göstermektedir. Çalışma, tüketimin cinsiyete dayalı boyutlarını vurgulayarak rasyonel tüketici davranışı varsayımlarına meydan okumaktadır. Ayrıca alternatif, kapsayıcı erkeklik anlayışlarını teşvik etmek için geleneksel toplumsal cinsiyet normlarının yapısöküme uğratılmasının öneminin altını çizmektedir. İleride yapılacak araştırmalar, kadın katılımcılar kapsayacak farklı perspektifleri içermelidir.

    İÇ HAVA SICAKLIĞI VE OPERATİF SICAKLIK BAZLI HVAC SİSTEMLERİNİN ISIL KONFOR VE ENERJİ TÜKETİMİ BAKIMINDAN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

    Isıtma, Soğutma ve Havandırma (HVAC) sistemlerinin ana amacı kullanıcılar için ısıl konforu sağlamaktır. Geleneksel olarak, HVAC sistemleri ısıl konforu sağlayabilmek için iç hava sıcaklığını sürekli ölçerek set-değerlerini ayarlar. Ancak, bir kabül edilebilir ısıl çevre standardı olan ASHRAE 55, iklimlendirilmiş binalar için operatif sıcaklık kabül aralıklarını kullanmayı önermektedir. Operatif sıcaklığın, iç hava sıcaklığı ve ortalama radyant sıcaklığın bir fonksiyonu olduğu düşünülürse, kullanıcıların nötr ısıl konforunun sağlanması için HVAC sistemlerinin set-değerleri operatif sıcaklığa göre kontrol edilebilir. Bu çalışma, biri operatif sıcaklık ve diğeri iç hava sıcaklığı bazlı aynı özellikteki iki oda bulunan aynı özellikteki iki HVAC sistemini ısıl konfor ve enerji tüketimi bakımından karşılaştırmaktadır. Örnek çalışma olarak, Ankara-Türkiye’de bulunan aynı mimari özelliklerdeki iki ofis odası seçilmiştir. HVAC sistemleri aynı zamanda ve aynı doluluk oranlarında ayrı ayrı operatif sıcaklık ve iç hava sıcaklığı bazlı kontrol edilerek çalıştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar, operatif bazlı HVAC sisteminin enerji tüketimini az da olsa arttırdığını fakat daha iyi ısıl konfor sağladığını göstermiştir. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları sadece enerji verimli HVAC sistemleri tasarlamak için değil, daha konforlu ortamlar yaratmak açısından da yol gösterici olacaktır.
