Article A Savior Sent by an “old Foe”; Feridun Demokan, Notes on the Great Famine in Greece(2011) Keser, UlviThe Second World War has had a great and bitter impact upon the countries which participated in it. Unfortunately, one of those countries suffered tragic consequences of the war since it was invaded twice firstly by Italy, and then by Germany. Out of the military invasion, Greece also suffered from the starvation which lasted approximately 5 years in the country. This long and terrific period is known as “μεγάλος λιμός” or the Great Famine. The only country helping Greece during the period of invasion and famine was Turkey, and a distinguished Turkish man named Feridun Demokan brought the Greek tragedy into the public attention and informed the entire world about this disaster. This article will focus on the period of Greek famine and the activities of Feridun Demokan who worked as the representative of the Turkish Red Crescent Society.Article Kıbrıs Türk Mücadele Tarihinde Kıbrıs Türk Kurumları Federasyonu- Nacak İşbirliği ve Ekonomik Kalkınma Gayretleri(2012) Keser, Ulvi1949 kurulan ve özellikle 16 Ağustos 1960 tarihinde Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti kuruluncaya kadar adada Kıbrıslı Türklere yönelik olarak son derece etkili olan Kıbrıs Türk Kurumları Federasyonu bu faaliyetlerini daha sonraki süreçte federasyonun yayın organı olarak görülen Nacak gazetesi vasıtasıyla Türk kamuoyuna daha rahat ve geniş ölçüde duyurma imkânı bulur. Her ne kadar Türk Mukavemet Teşkilatı’nın yayın organı olsa da Nacak gazetesi Kıbrıs Türklerinin sosyal, kültürel, ekonomik gelişmeleri, adada Türk ticari hayatının ayağa kaldırılması ve sosyal hayatın güçlendirilmesi bağlamında son derece etkin bir rol oynamıştır. Federasyon ile son derece uyumlu bir işbirliği içerisinde yayın yapan Nacak böylece Kıbrıs Türk basın tarihinde de farklı bir görev yüklenmiş olur.
