    (k1< k2< km< System and Its Reliability
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2019) Eryilmaz, Serkan
This paper is concerned with a system consisting of multiple types of components and having (k(1), k(2),..., k(m))-out-of-n structure. The (k(1), k(2),.., k(m))-out-of-n system is a system consisting of n components of type i, i = 1, 2,..., m, and functions if at least k(1) components of type 1, k(2) components of type 2,..., k(m) components of type m work, n = Sigma(n)(i=1) n(i). The exact and approximate expressions are obtained for the survival function of the system under concern. The weighted-(k(1), k(2),..., k(m))-out-of-n system is also defined and studied. This weighted model is applied to evaluate the wind power system that consists of two wind plants. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Gold and Ytterbium Interfacing Effects on the Properties of the Cdse/Yb Nanosandwiched Structures
    (Elsevier Science Bv, 2018) Alharbi, S. R.; Qasrawi, A. F.
Owing to the performance of the CdSe as an optoelectronic material used for the production of quantum dots, photosensors and wave traps we here, in this article, report the enhancements in structural and electrical properties that arises from the nanosandwiching of a 40 nm thick Yb film between two films of CdSe (CYbC-40). The CdSe films which were deposited onto glass, Yb and Au substrates are characterized by X-ray diffraction, temperature dependent electrical conductivity and impedance spectroscopy measurements in the frequency range of 10-1800 MHz. The analysis of the XRD patterns have shown that the glass/CdSe/Yb/CdSe films exhibit larger grain size and lower strain, defect density and lower stacking faults compared to the not sandwiched CdSe. In addition, it was observed that the Yb shifts the donor states of the n-type CdSe from 0.44 to 0.29 eV leading to a modification in the built in voltage of the material. On the other hand, the design of the energy band diagram has shown the ability of the formation of the Au/CYbC-40/Yb as Schottky (SB) and the Au/CYbC-40/Au as back to back Schottky barriers (BBSB). While the SB device show low band pass filter characteristics, the BBSB device performed as band stop filters. The BBSB device exhibited negative capacitance effects with filtering features that reveal a return loss of 42 dB at similar to 1440 MHz.

Personality and Individual Differences: Literature in Psychology-Psychology in Literature
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Aras, Goksen
Literature, which intertwines within such fields as history, philosophy, sociology, psychology and so on, is a discipline wherein language is used as a medium of expression so as to interpret man, existence and culture. The objective of this paper is to discuss literature in terms of its interdisciplinary structure, psychology, in particular, considering man and existence, personality and individual differences which have always been studied by writers, philosophers, artists, psychologists and psychiatrists. Several complex notions, unfathomable personalities and ambiguous motives have been associated with characters in literary genres: For example the term Bovarism is explained by means of Flaubert's Madame Bovary. Similar examples in literary works could be multiplied. Man and existence have been fundamental themes in literature, which has existed even before psychology. Works of literature and art enable individuals to be aware of their personalities and individual differences and to question life and existence, the main data in the field of psychology as well. It is overtly seen that there is a very strong correlation between literature and psychology since both of them deal with human beings and their reactions, miseries, desires, and their individual and social concerns by means of different concepts, methods, and approaches. A Study on Factors Affecting the Internationalization Process of Small and Medium Enterprises (smes)
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Kunday, Ozlem; Senguler, Ece Piskinsut
As a result of the rapid prevalence of Information Technologies, disappearance of the borders between countries as a sequel of globalization and the fast increase in the number of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME)s, products and services similar to each other are emerging. Within such a context, firms are striving to increase the demand for their products and gain attention through differentiation both in local and global markets. Due to its important role in international trade of countries, SMEs are being considered as major role players in economies and therefore became an attractive area to explore by researchers. The literature on the internationalization of firms is predominantly build on research from the US and western European countries while there is a few number of research conducted in Turkey (Bal and Kunday, 2014; Senguler, 2013; Kocak and Abimbola, 2009; Cavusgil, Knight and Uner, 2011). The internationalization of SMEs has been mostly investigated within the marketing literature and there is a lack on this subject within the Management and Organization literature. Setting out from this need, the aim of this paper is to investigate the entrepreneurial skills of the entrepreneur who founded the SME, the motive of the entrepreneur for starting the business, the innovativeness of the firm, and the relationship of these factors with the internationalization of firms. The sample of the research consists of entrepreneurs who have been reached via the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) study in 80 countries between the years 2000-2012. Hierarchical Regression Model was used to test the hypotheses at macro level including data from each country. Research findings and implications are presented and discussed. (C) 2015 The Authors. Analysis of Elastic-Plastic Interference-Fit Joints
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2014) Huyuk, Hava; Music, Omer; Koc, Asuman; Karadogan, Celalettin; Bayram, Cagdas; Karadoʇan, Çelalettin
This paper presents an examination of the elastic-plastic interference fit joints for simple and complex pin-tube geometries. Mechanics of the process is studied in detail through physical trials and numerical models. Results show there are three distinct stages as the pin is pushed into the tube and that an optimum geometry maximising the joint strength exists. (C) 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Metric-Like Spaces To Prove Existence of Solution for Nonlinear Quadratic Integral Equation and Numerical Method To Solve It
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2018) Hazarika, Bipan; Karapinar, Erdal; Arab, Reza; Rabbani, Mohsen
The purpose of this paper is to obtain some common fixed point results for two mappings satisfying various contractive conditions in metric-like spaces. These results extend some previous results in the literature, since the condition under which the operator admits common fixed points is more general than the others in literature. Therefore, several well known results are generalized. As an application we use these results to existence of solution for nonlinear quadratic integral equation. To credibility, we apply modified homotopy and Adomian decomposition method to find solution of the above problem with high accuracy. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Improving the Laser Damage Resistance of Oxide Thin Films and Multilayers Via Tailoring Ion Beam Sputtering Parameters
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Cosar, M. B.; Coşar, Batuhan Mustafa; Ozhan, A. E. S.; Aydogdu, G. H.; Coşar, Batuhan Mustafa; Computer Engineering; Computer Engineering
Ion beam sputtering is one of the widely used methods for manufacturing laser optical components due to its advantages such as uniformity, reproducibility, suitability for multilayer coatings and growth of dielectric materials with high packing densities. In this study, single Ta2O5 layers and Ta2O5/SiO2 heterostructures were deposited on optical quality glass substrates by dual ion beam sputtering. We focused on the effect of deposition conditions like substrate cleaning, assistance by 12 cm diameter ion beam source and oxygen partial pressure on the laser-induced damage threshold of Ta2O5 single layers. After-wards, the obtained information is employed to a sample design and produces a Ta2O5/SiO2 multilayer structure demonstrating low laser-induced damage without a post treatment procedure. Coincidence Point Theorems on Metric Spaces via Simulation Functions
    (Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Roldan-Lopez-de-Hierro, Antonio-Francisco; Karapinar, Erdal; Roldan-Lopez-de-Hierro, Concepcion; Martinez-Moreno, Juan
Due to its possible applications, Fixed Point Theory has become one of the most useful branches of Nonlinear Analysis. In a very recent paper, Khojasteh et al. introduced the notion of simulation function in order to express different contractivity conditions in a unified way, and they obtained some fixed point results. In this paper, we slightly modify their notion of simulation function and we investigate the existence and uniqueness of coincidence points of two nonlinear operators using this kind of control functions. In situ monitoring of the permanent crystallization, phase transformations and the associated optical and electrical enhancements upon heating of Se thin films
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2019) Qasrawi, A. F.; Aloushi, Hadil D.
In this work, the in situ structural transformations from amorphous to polycrystalline upon heating and the associated enhancements in the structural parameters of selenium thin films are studied by means of X-ray diffraction technique. The Se thin films which are grown onto ultrasonically cleaned glass substrate by the thermal evaporation technique under vacuum pressure of 10(-5) mbar exhibits structural transformation from amorphous to polycrystalline near 353 K. The films completed the formation of the structure which includes both of the hexagonal and monoclinic phases at 363 K. It is observed that the hexagonal phase dominates over the monoclinic as temperature is raised. Consistently, the thermally assisted crystallization process is accompanied with increase in the crystallite size, decrease in the microstrain, decrease in defect density and decrease in the percentage of stacking faults. The scanning electron microscopy measurements also confirmed the crystallinity of selenium after heating. The time dependent reputations of the crystallization test has shown that the achieved phase transitions and enhancements in structural parameters are permanent in selenium. Optically, the crystallization process is observed to be associated with redshift in the absorption spectra and in the value of the energy band gap. Electrically, the in situ monitoring of the electrical conductivity during the heating cycle has shown that the electrical conductivity stabilizes and exhibit a decrease in the acceptor levels from 566 to 321 meV after the crystallization was achieved.

Spectroscopic Ellipsometry Investigation of Optical Properties of Β-ga2s3< Single Crystals
    (Elsevier Science Bv, 2018) Isik, M.; Gasanly, N. M.; Gasanova, L.
Ga2S3 single crystals were studied by x-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements. XRD pattern of the sample is well-matched with reported hexagonal structure of beta-Ga2S3 . The spectra of real and imaginary parts of complex dielectric function (epsilon = epsilon(1) + epsilon(2)) and refractive index (N = n + ik) were plotted in the 1.2-6.2 eV range according to results of ellipsometric data. The e 2 -spectrum and analyses of absorption coefficient pointed out that studied sample has band gap energy of 2.48 eV which is consistent with that of beta-Ga(2)S(3)2. Critical point energies of beta-Ga2S3 were also reported in the present study.
