Successful Requirement Elicitation by Combining Requirement Engineering Techniques
    (2008) Mishra,D.; Mishra,A.; Yazici,A.
The role of customers and other stakeholders is becoming increasingly significant during requirement engineering activities. Methods of eliciting requirements are now more co-operative. There are many techniques to obtain requirements from customers. Selecting the right techniques according to the characteristics of the project is very important. In some complex problems, combination of requirement engineering techniques should be applied for efficient and successful requirement engineering process. In this paper, we have presented the application of combination of requirement engineering techniques for a real life complex project (Supply Chain Management) with higher requirements volatility developed in a small scale software development organization. This will help in understanding requirements elicitation for such kind of complex software and facilitate in selecting the appropriate techniques towards getting the consistent and complete requirements. ©2008 IEEE.

    A Cognitive Requirement Specification Model
    (2009) Cafer,F.; Misra,S.
Eliciting/Gathering information from the customers in requirement phase is the most crucial task in the development of the software development process, because this phase builds the base for the success or failure of any software product. Requirements specification process highly depends on the knowledge and mental abilities of the customers. In this paper, we are proposing a cognitive requirement specification model based on the cognitive classification of customers. © 2009 IEEE.

Market-Driven Software Project Through Agility: Requirements Engineering Perspective
    (Springer Verlag, 2009) Mishra,D.; Mishra,A.
Time-to-market and insufficient initial requirements are two major challenges that make requirement engineering for market-driven software projects different from bespoke software projects. These challenges can be resolved by using agile methods for market-driven software development as agile methods put emphasis on a dynamic approach for requirement engineering which work closely with an iterative release cycle. In this study, dynamic requirement engineering approach of Agile methods was used for the successful implementation of market-driven software (Supply Chain Management) project. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.

Knowledge management in requirement elicitation: Situational methods view
(Elsevier, 2018) Mishra, Deepti; Aydin, Secil; Mishra, Alok; Ostrovska, Sofiya
In small-scale software development organizations, software engineers are beginning to realize the significance of adapting software development methods according to project conditions. There is a requirement to proliferate this know-how to other developers, who may be facing the same settings/context, so that they too can benefit from others' experiences. In this paper, the application of situational method engineering in requirements elicitation phase is investigated. A novel, simple and dynamic web-based tool, Situational Requirement Method System (SRMS), is developed which can aid in conception/formulation, repository, and elicitation/derivation of methods related with this stage. The proposed approach and tool are validated by distributing a questionnaire among software professionals working in large software companies, and making SRMS accessible to them. The results indicate that a majority of the participants finds SRMS useful and provides various suggestions to improve it. (c) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A Systematic Literature Review on Compliance Requirements Management of Business Processes
(Springer india, 2020) Mustapha, A. M.; Arogundade, O. T.; Misra, Sanjay; Damasevicius, Robertas; Maskeliunas, Rytis
One crucial aspect that had cost business organizations so much is management of compliance requirements from various regulatory sources. In a bid to avoid being penalized, some organizations have adopted various techniques to accomplish this task. However, literature revealed that few thorough reviews have been centered on this subject in a systematic way. This implies that a review that systematically captured the entire crucial elements such as implementation environment, constraints types addressed, main contributions and strengths of the existing techniques is missing. This has led to the lack of sufficiently good context of operation. A systematic review on existing literatures is presented in this paper, which focuses on the management of business process compliance requirements in order to present summarized evidences and provide a lead-up for appropriately positioning new research activities. The guideline for conducting systematic literature review in software engineering by Kitchenham was employed in carrying out the systematic review as well as a review planning template to execute the review. Results showed that control flow and data flow requirements have been addressed most in recent time. The temporal and resource allocation requirements have been under researched. The approaches that have been employed in business process compliance requirements management are model checking, patterns, semantic, formal, ontology, goal-based requirements analysis and network analysis. The traditional business environment has been put into consideration more than the cloud environment. The summary of research contributions revealed that the approaches have been more of formal techniques compared to model checking and semantics. This shows that there is a need for more research on business process compliance that will be centered on the cloud environment. Researchers will be able to suggest the technique to be adopted based on the combined importance of each criterion that was defined in this work.
