Article QRS (Quality-Reliability-Safety) Complex of Engineering: Its Importance and Necessity in Engineering Education(SAGE Publications Inc., 2026) Eryilmaz, S.Although quality, reliability and safety are well-known concepts, the importance of these concepts has increased even more considering today's technologies and integrated systems. It is important that these concepts are known by engineers who play an important role in the design of such systems. This article aims to emphasize the importance and necessity of teaching the triple of quality, reliability and safety, expressed with the acronym QRS, in engineering education. In particular, the definitions of these concepts, the relationships between them and the basic issues that should be known by any engineering student regarding these concepts are summarized. Some suggestions are offered to help engineering students gain competence in these subjects. © The Author(s) 2026Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 8It Service Management (itsm) Education and Research: Global View(Tempus Publications, 2015) Yazici, Ali; Mishra, Alok; Kontogiorgis, Paul; Software EngineeringThis article provides an overview of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) and investigates the education and research activities in this discipline from a global perspective. The objectives of the study are to inform the training organizations (e.g., universities, training institutes) on the current status of the educational activities in ITSM at undergraduate and graduate levels; and to guide the researchers by providing quantitative data on the research activities conducted in the field. In the educational arena, the statistical data showed that, stand-alone undergraduate/graduate programs are becoming popular among the high school graduates with elevated expectations of the market place, in addition to the appreciation of the IT service management area by the IT sector and the public. The results of the research findings provide guidelines for curriculum developers in the design and implementation of courses for the de facto interdisciplinary ITSM degree/certificate training programs and motivate and guide the researchers by providing the most recent quantitative data on the ITSM field. It is one of the first studies to provide education and research trends in ITSM area. The present study adds to this important stream of emerging research area and contributes by advancing the understanding of ITSM education and research issues. This paper advances the current state of knowledge on ITSM education and explores recent research trends in this area which is becoming standard towards providing quality IT services in enterprises.Article Citation - WoS: 10Citation - Scopus: 15Software Quality Issues in SCRUM: A Systematic Mapping(Graz Univ Technolgoy, inst information Systems Computer Media-iicm, 2018) Mishra, Deepti; Abdalhamid, Samia; Computer EngineeringScrum is a process framework used to develop complex software. As Scrum is one of the prominent approaches in agile development projects, it is significant to define the issues of quality in the Scrum method. In this paper, a systematic mapping approach is adopted to answer specific research questions through an objective procedure to identify the nature of quality issues in Scrum studies. For this purpose, a number of research studies are reviewed in electronic databases to find out about various quality issues related with Scrum. Here, the focus is on how these studies are affective in terms of defining such issues. A total of 53 research papers are examined in detail to answer nine research questions related to quality issues in Scrum. Finally, the responses to all research questions are provided along with suggestions to ensure quality in the Scrum. The results reveal that there is very limited research on people-related quality issues such as employee skills, satisfaction etc. However, process quality such as process effectiveness, conformity, visibility, acceptance etc. have received a lot of attention among researchers, whereas the product quality and project-related quality issues such as team performance, collaboration, etc. are also of interest among researchers.
