It Service Management (itsm) Education and Research: Global View
(Tempus Publications, 2015) Yazici, Ali; Mishra, Alok; Kontogiorgis, Paul; Software Engineering
This article provides an overview of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) and investigates the education and research activities in this discipline from a global perspective. The objectives of the study are to inform the training organizations (e.g., universities, training institutes) on the current status of the educational activities in ITSM at undergraduate and graduate levels; and to guide the researchers by providing quantitative data on the research activities conducted in the field. In the educational arena, the statistical data showed that, stand-alone undergraduate/graduate programs are becoming popular among the high school graduates with elevated expectations of the market place, in addition to the appreciation of the IT service management area by the IT sector and the public. The results of the research findings provide guidelines for curriculum developers in the design and implementation of courses for the de facto interdisciplinary ITSM degree/certificate training programs and motivate and guide the researchers by providing the most recent quantitative data on the ITSM field. It is one of the first studies to provide education and research trends in ITSM area. The present study adds to this important stream of emerging research area and contributes by advancing the understanding of ITSM education and research issues. This paper advances the current state of knowledge on ITSM education and explores recent research trends in this area which is becoming standard towards providing quality IT services in enterprises.

    Trends in E-Governments: From E-Govt To M-Govt
    (2013) Ertürk,K.L.; Sengul,G.; Rehan,M.
New technological advancement and availability in mobile devices, technology, applications and networks have made it possible for a common citizens to access information and transact services while on the move. This gives an opportunity for governments to provide such services to citizens at the minimum cost. E-government practice and routine in public sectors are being supplemented and moving towards to m-governement (mobile government). M-Government can be defined as the massive usage of mobile devices with their applications to develope a quick connection and response between citizen and public sector authorities. M-government is a support of improving the quality, time saving and usability of e-government applications around the clock from any location. The existing technological foundations, applications and services support the idea that m-government will be a significant part of e-government efforts. The policy makers and IT professionals need get ready to embrace these developments and participate in the ways to enhance e-government activities through m-government. This transformational process is going on around the world. This article will investigate where governmental organizations are becomming mobil government organization to quickely reach to their citizens and increasing communication with them beyound the limits. © IDOSI Publications, 2013.

Suggestions of Nanotechnology Park and Observations on Industrial Challenges
    (2009) Karakas,A.
This study aims to clarify the establishment of the Nanotechnology Park in South Wales. The feasibility is observed through a survey, and reliability of the survey participants is justified with question structures. As the idea is a unique concept, the survey outcome is analyzed together with recent research and it is aimed to fill the gap in the field. Due to the nature of nanotechnology organizations, the challenges of the industry as well as the researchers are observed. Financial and organizational difficulties of the start-up companies are observed, including the constraints of the industry and research institutions. The outline and proposed issues to be considered are addressed for a nanotechnology park. Multi-disciplined field structure is observed and criticized with the current applications. Further research recommendations are pointed out through finalizing this study.
