Identifying Phishing Attacks in Communication Networks Using Url Consistency Features
    (Inderscience Publishers, 2020) Azeez,N.A.; Salaudeen,B.B.; Misra,S.; Damasevicius,R.; Maskeliunas,R.
Phishing is a fraudulent attempt by cybercriminals, where the target audience is addressed by a text message, phone call or e-mail, requesting classified and sensitive information after presenting himself/herself as a legitimate agent. Successful phishing attack may result into financial loss and identity theft. Identifying forensic characteristics of phishing attack can help to detect the attack and its perpetuators and as well as to enable defence against it. To shield internet users from phishing assaults, numerous anti-phishing models have been proposed. Currently employed techniques to handle these challenges are not sufficient and capable enough. We aim at identifying phishing sites in order to guard internet users from being vulnerable to any form of phishing attacks by verifying the conceptual and literal consistency between the uniform resource locator (URL) and the web content. The implementation of the proposed PhishDetect method achieves an accuracy of 99.1%; indicating that it is effective in detecting various forms of phishing attacks. © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.. Volume Combustion and Mechanochemical Syntheses of Lab6
    (Inderscience Publishers, 2017) Akgün,B.; Sevinç,N.; Çamurlu,H.E.; Topkaya,Y.
LaB6 powder was produced by volume combustion synthesis (VCS) and mechanochemical synthesis (MCS) methods, through magnesiothermic reduction of La2O3 and B2O3 powders. VCS was achieved by rapid heating of the reactant mixture in argon, whereas MCS was performed via high energy ball milling. All the products were subjected to XRD, SEM, gravimetric and particle size distribution analyses. MCS resulted in the expected products LaB6 and MgO. In addition to these, VCS products contained LaBO3 and Mg3B2O6. In order to obtain pure LaB6, 30 min leach in 1 M HCl was found to be enough for MCS products, whereas Mg3B2O6 could not be removed from the VCS products even after 15 h leach. Wet milling of VCS products before leach facilitated obtaining of pure LaB6. Average particle sizes of the LaB6 powder produced by VCS and MCS were 290 and 180 nm, respectively. Investigation of the Tribological Behaviour of Electrocodeposited Ni-Mos2 Composite Coatings
    (Inderscience Publishers, 2017) Güler,E.S.; Konca,E.; Karakaya,I.
Composite electroplating of solid lubricants in a metal matrix is an effective way to lower coefficient of friction (COF) and improve wear resistance of surfaces in sliding contact. In this work, Ni-MoS2 composite coatings were deposited on AISI 304 stainless steel substrates by electroplating from Watts bath containing suspended MoS2 particles and their tribological behaviour was studied. The effects of MoS2 particle concentration (5, 10 and 30 g/l), MoS2 particle size (1.440 and 5.156 μm), pH (2, 3 and 4), current density (3.8, 4.8 and 5.8 A/dm2) and the surfactant (sodium lignosulfonate, SLS) concentration (0.3 and 1 g/l) on the tribological behaviour were investigated using a ball-on-disc tribometer at ambient conditions. Lower current density, smaller particle size and higher concentration of MoS2 decreased COF. While increasing the surfactant concentration decreased the COF, its friction lowering effect was much more pronounced at relatively lower concentrations of MoS2 in the electrolyte.
