Book Part Online Social Networking and Romantic Relationships(IGI Global, 2022) Metin-Orta, IremWith the increased popularity of social media, social networking sites (SNSs) have received the attention of many scholars. In particular, researchers have focused on the impact of SNSs on interpersonal relationships. Accordingly, this chapter provides an overview of the extant literature concerning associations between the use of SNSs and romantic relationships. It provides empirical evidence on how social networking behaviors are influenced by adult attachment styles, and how social networking influences relationship constructs such as satisfaction, commitment, jealousy, and relationship dissolution. Furthermore, it presents previous research that emphasizes gender as a moderator in these relations. This chapter overall contributes to researchers and professionals in providing information on online social networking and emphasizing key romantic relationship constructs related to the use of SNSs. This chapter provides a detailed overview of the current literature on online social networking with respect to its beneficial and detrimental effects on psychological wellbeing. In particular, it provides empirical evidence for the associations of SNS use with depression, self-esteem, loneliness, subjective wellbeing, social anxiety, attachment, personality traits, and addiction. Furthermore, it identifies the characteristics of individuals who are more prone to social networking, and presents possible mediators and moderators playing a role in the relationship between social networking and mental health. Foreign policy making, which was shaped by diplomatic correspondence, visits, agreements, and notes between countries, is carried out today via messages sent over the Internet. Twitter is the most frequently used internet tool in the hands of institutions, decision makers, and leaders in foreign policy making. US President Donald J. Trump is one of the leaders who use Twitter most effectively. Twitter was the center of Trump’s messages, both during the presidential campaign and after his election. Trump is not just using Twitter as a platform for meeting his supporters and announcing the country’s official policies. Twitter has also been an important way for Trump to challenge and send harsh messages to certain countries, companies, and individuals. Iran is one of the countries that Trump targets through Twitter. The aim of this chapter is to emphasize the importance of marketing strategy on social media for the traditional Turkish cuisine and Turkish cultural cuisine. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Book Part Fostering Prosperity: Unveiling the Impact of Governance Quality on Gdp Per Capita in Oecd Nations(IGI Global, 2024) Kayral, I˙.E.; Altan, H.P.; Gontijo, T.S.This study aims to investigate the influence of the quality of governance on economic development among 38 OECD countries using a panel data approach. The data was gathered from the World Bank database for the period of 2002-2021 and consists of six governance indicators and two macroeconomic variables. The independent variables are the six governance indicators (WGI): control of corruption (CC), government effectiveness (GE), political stability and absence of violence/terrorism (PS), rule of law (RL), regulatory quality (RQ), and voice and accountability (VA). The dependent variable is the natural logarithm of GDP per capita, and inflation and real interest rates are control variables. The research identifies a direct and significant relationship between GDPPC and GE, PS, RL, RQ, and VA in OECD countries. These findings suggest that the existence of mechanisms for GE, PS, RL, RQ, and VA contribute positively to economic development. Moreover, interest rates and inflation are found to be significant and negatively related to GDPPC. © 2025, IGI Global. Celebrities) and Post Format in Instagram Marketing(IGI Global, 2022) Özgen, Pelin; Mahmoudian, Amir BehradIn the era where credibility of advertisements is decreasing and people are spending more time in social media compared to traditional channels, it is no surprise that marketing professionals employ social media as a new channel for communication. In this new media for communication, the conventional advertising techniques are also coupled with alternating methods such as product placements. In the light of these relatively new applications, the purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of marketing communications in social media under different message sources (celebrities vs. influencers) and with different message presentations. In order to serve that purpose, a 2X2 between subjects experiment is modelled with 399 respondents.
