Fcnc Decays of Spin-1/2 Double Heavy Baryons To Spin-3/2 Single Heavy Baryons
(E D P Sciences, 2024) Aliev, Tahmasib; Askan, Emre; Ozpineci, Altug; Sarac, Yasemin
In recent years, there have been many discoveries in the spectroscopy of hadrons containing heavy quarks. Almost all baryons containing a single heavy quark are discovered in experiments. The quark model predicts the existence of many baryons with double heavy quarks. Among the possible double heavy baryons, only Xi(+)(cc) and Xi(++)(cc) have been experimentally observed in LHCb. Flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes represent a promising platform for precise testing of SM and looking for new physics beyond the SM. In this study, the weak decays of spin-1/2 double heavy baryons to spin3/2 single heavy baryons induced by FCNC are studied within the light cone QCD sum rules method. First, the transition form factors of Xi(0,-)(bb) -> Xi(*0,(l) over bar l)(b), Xi(0,-)(bb) -> Sigma(*0,(l) over bar l)(b), Omega(-)(bb) -> Sigma(b)*(-(l) over barl), Omega(-)(bb) -> Sigma(*0,(l) over bar l)(b) decays are calculated. Then, the corresponding decay widths are estimated using the results for the form factors.

    Strong D*2(2460)0 → D+π- Transition in QCD
    (E D P Sciences, 2014) Sarac, Y.; Azizi, K.; Sundu, H.
This work presents the analysis of the transition D*(2)(2460)(0) > D+pi(-). In the calculation three point QCD sum rules method is applied and the value of the coupling constant for the considered vertex is obtained as gD*(2) D pi = (12.72 +/- 3.56) GeV-1.The result of the calculation is also utilized in the decay width and branching ratio calculations of the considered transition.

Finite Element Analysis of Non-Isothermal Warm Deep Drawing of Dual Phase Steel
    (E D P Sciences, 2016) Pepelnjak, T.; Kaftanoglu, B.
Improving the formability of the material is an important issue in the deep drawing process. Heating the material above its recrystallization temperature drastically increases formability but in the case of dual phase (DP) steels it results in the loss of their mechanical properties. To improve the drawing ratio, only the heating of the flange region in the warm temperature range up to 300 degrees C was studied on DP600 sheet steel by numerical simulation. Thermo-elastic-plastic FEM analysis of deep drawing at several drawing ratios was performed and compared with experimental results.

Determinants of General Chemistry Success of Engineering Students in Pltl and Traditional Classroom: State Anxiety and Test Anxiety
    (E D P Sciences, 2018) Eren-Sisman, Ece N.; Cigdemoglu, Ceyhan; Geban, Omer
The purpose is to find out whether state and test anxiety can predict general chemistry grade in peer-led team learning group (PLTL) and non-PLTL groups and to explore their predictability of the grade after controlling the influence of trait anxiety. The sample consisted of a total 128 freshman engineering students attending general chemistry in a private university. STAI and RTT instruments and exams were used to generate data which were analyzed by using standard and hierarchical multiple regression. The findings revealed that in both groups the combination of predictors is significantly related to general chemistry grade, having the strongest unique contribution of test anxiety; however, it was only statistically significant for PLTL group. After controlling the effect of trait anxiety, test anxiety still makes a unique significant contribution for PLTL group. Accordingly, test anxiety can be used to predict the general chemistry grade of PLTL students.
