This study will facilitate the understanding of the transition, constraints and implementation of ERP in this sector and also provide guidelines from lessons learned in this regard to researchers and practising managers.Article Citation - Scopus: 4An Empirical Study on the Factors Influencing the Implementation of Blockchain-Based Supply Chain Traceability System(Success Culture Press, 2023) Ahmed,A.M.; Sayar,A.R.Z.Traceability in the supply chain has become more of a priority in recent years. It is important to implement a traceability system that is able to offer accurate information in order to make products, such as food and other goods, safer for consumers. However, there are a number of elements that influence the adoption of traceability systems, and these factors vary in accordance with the economic scale of both companies and the nations in which they are located. This research aims to gain a better understanding of the factors that influence the implementation of a blockchain-based supply chain traceability system in Somalia. A mixed-mode technique has been utilized to collect both quantitative and qualitative data. Structured data from all the major stakeholders has been collected, analyzed, and interpreted. Though Somalia's SMEs are optimistic that a decentralized, low-cost supply chain traceability system can be established, the study's results confirmed that there are no standards or laws governing the supply chain's traceability practices in the country. The findings of this study present scientific data on the factors influencing the implementation of a blockchain-based supply chain traceability system, which are especially important to legislators in their quest of creating laws and regulations that protect consumers, practitioners to understand how to manage the traceability function in a cost-effective manner by employing cutting-edge technology, and academicians to find this study to be of practical use, given there has been very little research done on the topic in the context of Africa and Somalia. © 2023, Success Culture Press. This study addresses the basic issues in becoming a world-class supply chain. The main aspects involving people, process and technology dimensions are put forward and comprehensively discussed. It is revealed that along with the IT-based integrity issues and performance management aspects, managing the soft concepts such as 'leadership in an extended context' and 'trust-based relationships' appear as the keys for success. © 2015 ACM.
