Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 11Industry Oriented Advanced Software Engineering Education Curriculum(Fac Teacher Education, 2012) Mishra, Alok; Mishra, Deepti; Computer Engineering; Software EngineeringSoftware engineering is the fastest-evolving engineering discipline and most of the tasks of software development organizations are diverse in nature. Various studies have shown that there is a wide gap between software industry needs and education for prospective software engineers. It is the responsibility of Software engineering education to prepare SE professionals by providing them with the skills to meet the expectations of the software industry. SE curriculum should correspond to the industry needs, and only then can Universities produce highly skilled professionals, who can meet the needs of software industry. During the last decade, software engineering education (SEE) has been emerging as an independent and mature discipline. Accordingly, various studies are being conducted to provide guidelines for SEE curriculum design. This paper summarizes the need for software industry related courses and discusses the significance of industry oriented software engineering education to meet the educational objectives of all stakeholders. The software industry oriented curriculum for undergraduate and graduate levels is discussed. An industry oriented graduate level (master's level) software engineering course which includes foundational and applied courses to provide effective training for future software engineers is also proposed. This will lead to an increase in their employment prospects in the industrial and allied sectors.Article Citation - WoS: 12Citation - Scopus: 14A Curriculum on Sustainable Information Communication Technology(Politechnika Lubelska, 2015) Ozkan, Baris; Mishra, Alok; Information Systems Engineering; Software EngineeringEconomies are increasingly becoming dependent on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and concerns over sustainability have called for the investigation of the relation between sustainability and ICT. While the majority of the studies in this field have an environmentalist focus in this regard, technical, economical and societal concerns on sustainability have arisen in the last decade. Today, more and more studies are addressing the need for the inclusion of sustainability as a design goal for ICT development and for the systems that rely on ICT. Therefore, the integration of education on sustainability in the curriculum is imperative for current and future generations of professionals to accomplish this goal. In this paper, we propose a curriculum for sustainable ICT along with the expected learning outcomes and components. The course design is based on a multi-faceted approach that embraces different viewpoints on sustainability and aims to increase students' awareness of the complex nature of sustainability.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Internet of Things (iot) and Artificial Neural Networks Towards Water Pollution Forecasting(Middle Pomeranian Sci Soc Env Prot, 2020) Ibrahim, Thaer; Mishra, Alok; Software EngineeringWater could be some-times a source of danger on people's lives and property. Although it is one of the most important elements of life on this planet. This article define the threat of water pollution in Tigris River in Iraq. by collecting a data that generated by sensors that installed in a water pollution sensing project in Baghdad city, also this article aimed to detect and analyze the behavior of water environment. It is an effort to predict the threat of pollution by using advanced scientific methods like the technology of Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine learning in order to avoid the threat and/or minimize the possible damages. This can be used as a proactive service provided by E-governments towards their own citizens.Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 17An Assessment of the Software Engineering Curriculum in Turkish Universities: Ieee/Acm Guidelines Perspective(Fac Teacher Education, 2011) Mishra, Alok; Yazici, Ali; Software EngineeringSoftware engineering (SE) education has been emerging as an independent and mature discipline. Accordingly, various studies are being done to provide guidelines for SE education curriculum design. This paper presents software engineering education evolvement in Turkey, present SE education scenario in different universities along with the significance of software technology parks in relevance to software engineering education. The objective of this paper is to provide an assessment of SE curriculum in Turkish Universities with respect to IEEE/ACM guidelines given in SEEK (2004). This study will provide a guideline to universities conducting an SE programme at undergraduate level to align their course curriculum with IEEE/ACM guidelines (SEEK, 2004).Article Citation - WoS: 22Citation - Scopus: 28Green Information Technology Practices Among It Professionals: Theory of Planned Behavior Perspective(Politechnika Lubelska, 2014) Akman, Ibrahim; Akman, Kamil İbrahim; Mishra, Alok; Mıshra, Alok; Akman, Kamil İbrahim; Mıshra, Alok; Software Engineering; Software Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Engineering; Software Engineering; Computer EngineeringAccording to the existing literature, the determinants of environmental attitudes and behavior are important. In this paper impact of information technology adoption environment has been investigated. Some of the studies have successfully utilized Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) for adoption behavior. This study proposed TPB to explain IT professionals' intentions for Green Information Technology (GIT) practices. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among IT professionals from public and private sector organizations. Core factors of TPB were included in the analysis. Overall, results revealed that the TPB model explains behavioral intent, and all four core constructs were significant predictors of the intent. Limitations of the study, and implications for theory are also discussed.
