Assessment of Shock Models for a Particular Class of Intershock Time Distributions
(Springer, 2022) Kus, Coskun; Tuncel, Altan; Eryilmaz, Serkan
In this paper, delta and extreme shock models and a mixed shock model which combines delta-shock and extreme shock models are studied. In particular, the interarrival times between successive shocks are assumed to belong to a class of matrix-exponential distributions which is larger than the class of phase-type distributions. The Laplace -Stieltjes transforms of the systems' lifetimes are obtained in a matrix form. Survival functions of the systems are approximated based on the Laplace-Stieltjes transforms. The results are applied for the reliability evaluation of a certain repairable system consisting of two components.

    On fusible rings
(Taylor & Francis inc, 2023) Gumusel, Guenseli; Kosan, M. Tamer; Zemlicka, Jan
A ring R is called left fusible if every nonzero element is the sum of a left zero-divisor and a non-left zero-divisor, and R is called uniquely left fusible if for any a is an element of R there exists a unique left zero-divisor z such that a - z is non-left zero-divisor. We show that a left fusible ring R is uniquely left fusible if and only if either R is a domain or R has a unique non-left zero-divisor element.

On the Block Functions Generating the Limit q-lupas Operator
(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2023) Ostrovska, Sofiya; Turan, Mehmet
The limit q-Lupas operator emerged in the study of the Lupas q-analogue of the Bernstein operator. Afterward, it has been found that it is connected to numerical analysis, computer aided geometric design, probability theory and other areas. In this paper, properties of block functions generating the limit q-Lupas operator have been investigated.
