Department Nutrition and Dietetics(2017)Student admission to the Atılım University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics started in 2017. Our Department is the only academic institution to offer undergraduate-level education completely in English in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics in Ankara. The studies of our department may be classified into two main categories; education and research. The current education programs are offered taking into consideration the awareness of the responsibility in offering a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics; by competent instructors in the field, and with an inter-disciplinary approach. Our aim for the future alumni of our undergraduate program is to undertake their responsibilities in the light of their information with a professional insight, and the confidence to constantly update themselves at hospitals, polyclinics, public health centers, ministries, catering institutions, food companies, universities and such where they may be employed in positions such as health care professionals, academicians, researchers, directors or policy makers.Department Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation(2017)Atılım University Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation opened in 2017. Our Department is among the few to offer a 4-year education in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation 100% in English. Physiotherapy aims to develop, sustain and restore maximum range of movement and functional abilities of people. Physiotherapists aid people at any stage of life when their movement and functions are affected due to factors such as ageing, injuries, diseases, disorders or environmental factors. Leaning heavily on practice, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation education is offered by our faculty members as experts in their fields and in clinical case simulations. Our program involves summer applications and clinical practice to develop the clinical skills of our students as future physiotherapists.The required studies are currently underway to initiate Graduate Degree education in General Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at our University.Department Department of Nursing(2021)Our department shall initiate a thesis graduate degree program in the field of Nursing for Gynecology and Obstetrics as the department highest in demand in terms of the Turkish health system and the schools of nursing and midwifery, in Fall 2020-2021.Department Fine Arts and Elective Courses(2016)The Department of Fine Arts and Elective Courses was founded under the School of Fine Arts Design and Architecture in 2016. Within the field of Fine Arts, and during our elective courses offered in English and Turkish for the undergraduate students of our University, our students learn about topics such as art history, art criticism, the relationship between art and society, cultural heritages and their protection, museums and museum studies. We contribute to the self and artistic improvement of our students through practice courses in the fields of music, theater, film, photography, dance, art, comics, statues, tile-glazing, mosaics, ceramics, elocution, rhetoric, sign language and digital art. We aim our students to gain the skills of the 21st century such as entrepreneurship, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, correct self-expression, flexibility, harmony, media and technology, self-guidance, responsibility, social and intercultural communication; through art. The courses of Theater for Entrepreneurship Skills and Creativity in Professional Life are offered in English, and are within the scope of non-elective Entrepreneurship courses.Department Department of International Trade and Logistics(2016)International Trade and Logistics Management Master Program was launched in 2016. The main objective of the program is to train candidates who will meet the requirements of being senior executives in international trade and logistics sectors. Besides, training of academic staff is another goal of the program. Thus, synergy is thought to be established connecting the experienced academicians in the field of two related subjects such as logistics and international trade. The program with and without thesis, aims to contribute to the ability of professionals and administrators from different disciplines such as international trade and logistics, business, economics, finance, engineering, tourism, law to use the theoretical knowledge they have learned by following the scientific developments in solving the problems they encountered in practice.Department Nursing(2018)Atılım University Department of Nursing opened in 2018. The department is among the few in our Turkey with a program that is 100% in English. In this aspect, the department is also the first and the only one in Ankara. Nurses are some of the key players among healthcare professionals protecting the health of individuals, families and the public, and offering care in line with the principles of holistic and family-based healthcare. Prepared with respect to the changes in Turkey and the world, as well as the developments in the global health sector, course content is presented through technological and innovative methods in education. Hybrid and simulation laboratories armed with cutting-edge equipment are used for skill training as an important portion of the education for nursing. As the field most in demand by nursing and midwifery schools in Turkey, our thesis graduate program for the field Obstetrics and Gynecology shall start in 2020. Holding pedagogical formation certificates and qualifications accredited nationally, and internationally, our academic staff not only offers training in professional skills (cognitive and psychomotor skills) and foreign languages to students, but also prepares students as health professionals for the future, making use of programs such as those on social responsibility, as well as student network activities and international exchange projects.Department Department of Physics(2015)Applied Physics MS Program (APP) at Atilim University was established in April, 2015. APP embarked on its journey with the aim of conducting advanced research activities in physics. In the program, we are currently taking part in various research projects at international level as a team of eleven physicists. Our ultimate aim is to make APP an internationally recognized research program devoted to experimental and theoretical physics of high standards. The program has thesis and non-thesis master study options. In addition, most of the courses of MS program are designed to meet the requirements of the industry and provide the students with the most recent advances in the physics and technology. We, the physicists in APP, are all well aware of the fact that physics is the fundamental research area in all other natural and engineering sciences. In APP, we are endeavoring to teach our students high-level theoretical and experimental physics so that we will raise them as tomorrow’s highly motivated prospective researchers.Department Department of Private Law(2015)Since the 2015-2016 academic year, under Atılım University Institute of Social Sciences, the graduate Master of Laws Programme under the name of “Private Law” is being given in order to construct a more intense, detailed and varied law education than the undergraduate education, for those who want to continue their works in one of the areas of private law. In this Programme, classes from the areas that comprise private law such as Civil Law, Commercial Law, Labor and Social Security Law, Private International Law, Civil Procedural Law are being lectured with the current body of law, including the most recent arguments and discussions in the field. Moreover, more specialised topics inside these areas of law such as trademark law, international jurisdiction of Turkish courts, law of employment contracts are being taught in order to have an insightful perspective. These classes allow graduate students to develop a better, more detailed and wider understanding of the point of views and arguments in the doctrine, as well as to do research, examine and write about those while enhancing their academic skills. A distinctive part of this Programme is that each class is elective besides compulsory Research Methods and Seminar classes. This grants students the opportunity to choose the area they want to work and specialize in and choose their classes according to that, freely. Therefore, students can personalize their education in the light of thaw interests in the vast field of work of private law that governs interpersonal relations.Department Department of Mechanical Engineering(2016)The Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Program has started in 2016-2017 academic year. We have highly qualified teaching and research faculty members and strong research infrastructure in the department for graduate work. Research areas include computational and experimental research in fluid and solid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, advanced manufacturing, composites and other advanced materials. Our fundamental mission is to train engineers who are able to work with advanced technology, create innovative approaches and authentic designs, apply research methods effectively, conduct research and develop high quality methods and products in space, aviation, defense, medical and automotive industries, with a contemporary education and research infrastructure.Department Pilot Training(2016)The Department of Pilot Training under Atılım University Graduate School of Civil Aviation is a graduate program that opened in 2016. At the Department of Pilot Training, we train pilots in a way that grants them extraordinary qualities at an education and training environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, and in English, as the language of global aviation. The PPL(A) and PIC flight stages of the flight training offered by our Department of Pilot Training have been conducted under Atılım University Flight Training School at Zonguldak Çaycuma Airport and Ankara Esenboğa Airport using the hangars of Atılım University, and our Technam aircraft since 2017; while the IR and ME certification training procedures under the CPL(A) education are conducted at Atlantic Flight Academy, AFA Flight School with which we share a cooperation protocol in education. Our graduates become eligible to obtain an ATPL (A) Airline Transfer Pilot License from the Directorate of Civil Aviation with their Undergraduate Diploma.
