    The Atılım University Department of Civil Engineering was founded in 2000 as a pioneer for the Departments of Civil Engineering among the foundation schools of Ankara. It offers education in English. The Department of Civil Engineering has an academic staff qualified in all areas of the education offered. In addition to a high level of academic learning that benefits from learning opportunities through practice at its seven laboratories, the Department also offers a Cooperative Education program conducted in cooperation with renowned organizations in the construction sector. Accredited by MÜDEK (Association of Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs) (in 2018), our Department has been granted the longest period of accreditation to ever achieve through the association (six years). The accreditation is recognized by ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education), and other international accreditation boards.

    Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

    Atılım University Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation opened in 2017. Our Department is among the few to offer a 4-year education in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation 100% in English. Physiotherapy aims to develop, sustain and restore maximum range of movement and functional abilities of people. Physiotherapists aid people at any stage of life when their movement and functions are affected due to factors such as ageing, injuries, diseases, disorders or environmental factors. Leaning heavily on practice, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation education is offered by our faculty members as experts in their fields and in clinical case simulations. Our program involves summer applications and clinical practice to develop the clinical skills of our students as future physiotherapists.The required studies are currently underway to initiate Graduate Degree education in General Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at our University.

    Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance

    The Atılım University Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance has been offering Civil Aviation education in English since 2012. In an effort to provide the best level of education, ATILIM UNIVERSITY demonstrated its merit as a role model in Civil Aviation Education last year by being granted a SHY 147 certificate with the status of “Approved Aircraft Maintenance Training Institution” by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. The SHY 147 is a certificate for Approved Aircraft Maintenance Training Institutions. It is granted to institutions where training programs have undergone inspection, and the quality of the education offered has been approved by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. With our Civil Aviation Training Center at Esenboğa Airport (our hangar), and the two Cessna-337 planes with double piston engines both of which are fully operational, as well our Beechcraft C90 Kingait plaine with double Turboprop engines, Atılım University is an institution to offer hands-on technical training in civil aviation, and one that strives to take the education it offers to the extremes in terms of technology. The Atılım university Graduate School Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance is a fully-equipped civil aviation school to complement its theoretical education with hands-on training using planes of various kinds. Even before their graduation, most of our students are hired in Turkey’s most prestigious institutions in such a rapidly-developing sector.     Architecture Integrated PhD Program, which was initiated in the year 2012 at the Graduate School of Natural & Applied Sciences, runs graduate education and research studies leading to PhD degree for the students bearing bachelor and master degrees. The offical educational language of the Program is Turkish. The Program is available for applications by graduates from different disciplines (architecture; urban design; city and regional planning; industrial design; interior design; landscape design) who wish to be researcher or academician in any of the areas of specialization in architecture specified by IMP. Architecture Master’s Programs (Thesis-Oriented & Project-Oriented) were started in the year 2018. The official educational languages of these Programs are Turkish and English. These programs are available for applications by canditates who have undergraduate degrees in architecture.

    Manufacturing Engineering

    Opened in 2003 with the aim to graduate experts in the field of machine-production, our Department is among the firsts in our country to offer education in English. The Manufacturing Engineering program focuses on the manufacturing technologies that shape materials from raw materials to final products by means of analytical, experimental and numerical modeling methods. First Manufacturing Engineering Program to be engineered by Müdek, our department aims to graduate creative and innovative Manufacturing Engineers that are knowledgeable in the current technology, and are able to use production resources in an effective and sustainable way that never disregards environmental facts. As the first Department to implement the Cooperative Education Program at Atılım University in coordination with institutions from the industry, the Manufacturing Engineering offers a practice-oriented approach in education with its laboratory infrastructure and research opportunities. The curriculum at our department is supported by current engineering software, and catered to creating engineers equipped to meet the needs of the production industry.

    The Atılım University Department of Mechanical Engineering started education in 2009, and offers graduate and doctorate degree programs, in addition to its undergraduate program. Our main goal is to graduate Mechanical Engineers who have the skills to design, analyze and synthesize; who are able to convert advanced technology and innovations into products; and who have the culture of research and cooperation. While our graduates reach this goal, they adopt the principle of life-long learning, and develop a sense of entrepreneurship, paying importance to professional ethics. With a curriculum prepared in line with the criteria of MÜDEK, we help our students develop themselves professionally, and socially. Graduates of mechanical engineering may be employed in many sectors and in a wide array of positions. Able to work under any field that involves production and energy conversion, graduates of the department may also gain expertise in fields such as aviation, automotive, or material engineering.

    Software Engineering

    Department of Software Engineering was founded in 2005 as the first department in Ankara in Software Engineering. The recent developments in current technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and Blockchains, have placed Software Engineering among the top professions of today, and the future. The academic and research activities in the department are pursued with qualified faculty at Undergraduate, Graduate and Doctorate Degree levels. Our University is one of the two universities offering a Doctorate-level program in this field. In addition to focusing on the basic phases of software (analysis, design, development, testing) and relevant methodologies in detail, our department offers education in various areas of expertise, such as Object-oriented Analysis and Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Software Quality Assurance, Software Requirement Engineering, Software Design and Architecture, Software Project Management, Software Testing and Model-Driven Software Development. The curriculum of our Department is catered to graduate individuals who are prepared to take part in any phase of software development of large-scale software in line with the requirements of the software sector. Department of Software Engineering is accredited by MÜDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs) until September 30th, 2021, and has been granted the EUR-ACE label that is valid in Europe. This label provides our graduates with a vital head-start to be admitted to graduate-level programs, and into working environments in European Union countries. The Big Data and Cloud Computing Laboratory, as well as MobiLab where mobile applications are developed, SimLAB, the simulation laboratory for Medical Computing, and software education laboratories of the department are equipped with various software tools and hardware to enable our students to use state-of-the-art software technologies. Our graduates are employed in software and R&D companies (Technoparks), national/international institutions developing or utilizing software technologies (such as banks, healthcare institutions, the Information Technologies departments of private and public institutions, telecommunication companies, TÜİK, SPK, BDDK, EPDK, RK, or universities), and research institutions such TÜBİTAK.

    Fine Arts and Elective Courses

    The Department of Fine Arts and Elective Courses was founded under the School of Fine Arts Design and Architecture in 2016. Within the field of Fine Arts, and during our elective courses offered in English and Turkish for the undergraduate students of our University, our students learn about topics such as art history, art criticism, the relationship between art and society, cultural heritages and their protection, museums and museum studies. We contribute to the self and artistic improvement of our students through practice courses in the fields of music, theater, film, photography, dance, art, comics, statues, tile-glazing, mosaics, ceramics, elocution, rhetoric, sign language and digital art. We aim our students to gain the skills of the 21st century such as entrepreneurship, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, correct self-expression, flexibility, harmony, media and technology, self-guidance, responsibility, social and intercultural communication; through art. The courses of Theater for Entrepreneurship Skills and Creativity in Professional Life are offered in English, and are within the scope of non-elective Entrepreneurship courses.

    Master program of Computer Engineering Department which was launched in February 2002 is one of the two oldest programs of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The program has thesis and non-thesis master options. With the advantage of having highly qualified faculty members, our master program not only gives fundamental high level courses but also attaches importance to the advances in information and communication technologies. Almost all of the courses were designed to meet expectations of the industry and focus on the latest technological developments. It is also continuously being updated considering the needs of the local industry in this respect. Additionally, our program gives high priority to increase the research potential of its students.
