Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 6Synthesis, X-Ray Data, and Hall Effect Measurements of Li-Doped Tl-Ba Superconductor(Wiley-v C H verlag Gmbh, 2003) Kayed, TSLithium-doped Tl-based superconductor was prepared by adding an amount of 0.3 mol.% to the Tl1.8Ba2Ca2.2Cu3Ox compound. The usual solid-state reaction method has been applied under optimum conditions. The x-ray data of the sample show a tetragonal structure with a high ratio of Tl-2223 superconducting phase. The sample showed a transition at 125 K and the zero resistance was observed at 117 K. Longitudinal (transport) and transverse (Hall) resistivities were measured at different temperatures under different magnetic fields and the data were interpreted. A positive Hall coefficient was observed at normal state and a sign reversal appears at temperatures lower than the critical temperature. (C) 2003 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. By High Pressure Sheet Metal Forming (HBU), complex parts can be formed with reduced tool costs, fewer process steps, and improved part properties, particularly by the use of high strength steels. In order to use these advantages to full capacity, the material flow into the area of the geometry details needs to be optimised. The key element for the material flow control is a multi-point blank holder. In combination with flange draw-in sensors, a closed loop flange draw-in control can be built up which guarantees a reproducible material flow and, consequently, defined part properties. Furthermore, a favourable pre-distribution of sheet metal material can be reached which leads to a widening of the process limits. Considering a large area sheet metal part with a complex door handle element as example, strategies for the material flow control will be discussed in this paper. The conclusions are based on FE-simulations as well as experimental findings.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 1A Cognitive Evaluation for Meetings in Software Development Process(Springer-verlag Berlin, 2009) Misra, Sanjay; Akman, IbrahimSoftware development; includes number of different type of meetings in the whole development process. The CV of the complexes exhibits a reversible one-electron transfer from a metal-based orbital. Constant potential electrolysis at the oxidation peak potential of [Rh-2(O2CCH3)(4)(NCCH3)(2)] in acetonitrile yielded [Rh-2(O2CCH3)(4)(NCCH3)(2)](+), a mixed valent Rh(II)-Rh(III) cation complex. The formation of the mixed valent complex was monitored by measuring electronic absorption spectra of the solution in situ during the oxidative electrolysis. The reductive electrolysis of the mixed valent complex solution, in the same electrolysis cell, yielded the original electronic absorption spectrum of the starting complex. The changes in the oxidation and reduction potentials of the complexes with different axial ligands, L = H2O, Cl-, Br-, SCN-, are correlated to the relative energy changes of HOMO and LUMO of the complexes, which indicates the metal-axial ligand sigma- and pi-bonding interactions. Spectroscopic and CV data indicate that the degree of a-interaction is Cl- > Br- > SCN-, and that of pi-interaction is Br- > SCN- > Cl-.Article Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 10A FUZZY CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR MULTIMEDIA DATA WITH A TEXT-BASED AUTOMATIC ANNOTATION SCHEME(World Scientific Publ Co Pte Ltd, 2009) Kucuk, Dilek; Burcuozgur, N.; Yazici, Adnan; Koyuncu, MuratThe size of multimedia data is increasing fast due to the abundance of multimedia applications. Modeling the semantics of the data effectively is crucial for proper management of it. In this paper, we present a fuzzy conceptual data model for multimedia data which is also generic in the sense that it can be adapted to all multimedia domains. The model takes an object-oriented approach and it handles fuzziness at different representation levels where fuzziness is inherent in multimedia applications and should be properly modeled. The proposed model also has the nice feature of representing the structural hierarchy of multimedia data as well as the spatial and temporal relations of the data. The model is applied to the news video domain and implemented as a fuzzy multimedia database system where it turns out to be effective in representing the domain and thereby provides an evidence for the general applicability of the model. The model is accompanied by an automatic multimedia annotation scheme which makes use of information extraction techniques on the corresponding multimedia texts.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 4Uncorrelatedness sets for random variables with given distributions(Amer Mathematical Soc, 2005) Ostrovska, SLet xi(1) and xi(2) be random variables having finite moments of all orders. The set U(xi(1),xi(2)) := {( j, l) is an element of N-2 : E(xi(1)(j)xi(2)(l)) = E(xi(1)(j)) E(xi(2)(l))} is said to be an uncorrelatedness set of xi(1) and xi(2). It is known that in general, an uncorrelatedness set can be arbitrary. Simple examples show that this is not true for random variables with given distributions. In this paper we present a wide class of probability distributions such that there exist random variables with given distributions from the class having a prescribed uncorrelatedness set. Besides, we discuss the sharpness of the obtained result.Conference Object Citation - Scopus: 14Software Process Improvement Methodologies for Small and Medium Enterprises(2008) Mishra,D.; Mishra,A.Today, the software industry is one of the most rapidly growing sectors and small software development companies play an important role in economy. Many such organizations have been interested in Software Process Improvement (SPI). It has been observed that the successful implementation of SPI methodologies is generally not possible within the context of small and medium-sized software enterprises (SMEs) because they are not capable of bearing the cost of implementing these software process improvement programs. Further the proper implementation of software engineering techniques is difficult task for SMEs as they often operate on limited resources and with strict time constraints. There are number of methodologies to address these issues. In this paper, various SPI methodologies for SMEs are discussed and compared. This will lead towards maturity of software process improvement in SMEs and also facilitates in development of automation tools for SPIs in future. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.Article Citation - WoS: 11Citation - Scopus: 11Microstructural, thermal, and electrical properties of Bi1.7V0.3Sr2Ca2Ca3Ox glass-ceramic superconductor(Wiley-v C H verlag Gmbh, 2004) Kayed, TS; Calinli, N; Aksu, E; Koralay, H; Günen, A; Ercan, I; Cavdar, SA glass-ceramic Bi1.7V0.3Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox superconductor was prepared by the melt-quenching method. The compound was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis, current-voltage characteristics, transport resistance measurements, and Hall effect measurements. Two main phases (BSCCO 2212 and 2223) were observed in the x-ray data and the values of the lattice parameters quite agree with the known values for 2212 and 2223 phases. The glass transition temperature was found to be 426 degreesC while the activation energy for crystallization of glass has been found to be E-a = 370.5 kJ / mol. This result indicates that the substitution of vanadium increased the activation energy for the BSCCO system. An offset T-c of 80 K was measured and the onset T-c was 100 K. The Hall resistivity rho(H) was found to be almost field-independent at the normal state. A negative Hall coefficient was observed and no sign reversal of rho(H) or RH could be noticed. The mobility and carrier density at different temperatures in the range 140-300 K under different applied magnetic fields up to 1.4 T were also measured and the results are discussed.Article Citation - WoS: 1Carrier Transport Properties of Ins Single Crystals(Wiley-blackwell, 2003) Qasrawi, AF; Gasanly, NMThe electrical resistivity and Hall effect of indium sulfide single crystals are measured in the temperature range from 25 to 350 K. The donor energy levels located at 500, 40 and 10 meV below the conduction band are identified from both measurements. The data analysis of the temperature-dependent Hall effect measurements revealed a carrier effective mass of 0.95 m(0), a carrier compensation ratio of 0.9 and an acoustic deformation potential of 6 eV. The Hall mobility data are analyzed assuming the carrier scattering by acoustic and polar optical phonons, and ionized impurities.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 7Citation - Scopus: 8Formation Control of a Multi-Agent System Using Decentralized Nonlinear Servomechanism(Ieee, 2003) Gazi, VIn this article we consider the formation control problem of a system of M agents with general nonlinear dynamics. We show that the problem of the agents moving in a formation along constant or periodic trajectories can be formulated as a nonlinear output regulation (servomechanism) problem and solved using known techniques. Then, we consider the example of formation control of agents with point mass dynamics and apply the procedure. Few illustrative numerical simulation examples are also provided.
