Article Citation - WoS: 41Citation - Scopus: 52Discussion on Generalized-(αψ, Βφ)-Contractive Mappings Via Generalized Altering Distance Function and Related Fixed Point Theorems(Hindawi Ltd, 2014) Berzig, Maher; Karapinar, Erdal; Roldan-Lopez-de-Hierro, Antonio-FranciscoWe extend the notion of (alpha psi, beta phi)-contractive mapping, a very recent concept by Berzig and Karapinar. This allows us to consider contractive conditions that generalize a wide range of nonexpansive mappings in the setting of metric spaces provided with binary relations that are not necessarily neither partial orders nor preorders. Thus, using this kind of contractive mappings, we show some related fixed point theorems that improve some well known recent results and can be applied in a variety of contexts.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 19Periodic Points of Weaker Meir-Keeler Contractive Mappings on Generalized Quasimetric Spaces(Hindawi Publishing Corporation, 2014) Lin, Ing-Jer; Chen, Chi-Ming; Karapinar, ErdalBy using the weaker Meir-Keeler function phi and the triangular alpha-admissible mapping alpha, we introduce the notion of (alpha - phi)-weaker Meir-Keeler contractive mappings and prove a theorem which assures the existence of a periodic point for these mappings on generalized quasimetric spaces.Conference Object Fcnc Decays of Spin-1/2 Double Heavy Baryons To Spin-3/2 Single Heavy Baryons(E D P Sciences, 2024) Aliev, Tahmasib; Askan, Emre; Ozpineci, Altug; Sarac, YaseminIn recent years, there have been many discoveries in the spectroscopy of hadrons containing heavy quarks. Almost all baryons containing a single heavy quark are discovered in experiments. The quark model predicts the existence of many baryons with double heavy quarks. Among the possible double heavy baryons, only Xi(+)(cc) and Xi(++)(cc) have been experimentally observed in LHCb. Flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes represent a promising platform for precise testing of SM and looking for new physics beyond the SM. In this study, the weak decays of spin-1/2 double heavy baryons to spin3/2 single heavy baryons induced by FCNC are studied within the light cone QCD sum rules method. First, the transition form factors of Xi(0,-)(bb) -> Xi(*0,(l) over bar l)(b), Xi(0,-)(bb) -> Sigma(*0,(l) over bar l)(b), Omega(-)(bb) -> Sigma(b)*(-(l) over barl), Omega(-)(bb) -> Sigma(*0,(l) over bar l)(b) decays are calculated. Then, the corresponding decay widths are estimated using the results for the form factors.Article Citation - Scopus: 1Anxiety and Depression After Cesarean: Non-Pharmacological Evidence Based Practices;(Dokuz Eylul University, 2022) Terzioğlu,F.; Gençbaş,D.; Boztepe,H.; Doğu,N.; Akdeniz,C.; Yüceer,B.The purpose of this review is to examine the non-pharmacological evidence-based practices of anxiety and depression after a cesarean section delivery. Postpartum anxiety and depression have increased in the last decade, the rates of postpartum depression are around 13% worldwide. In the postpartum period, women may experience anxiety and depression due to the operation they have undergone; such as being in an unfamiliar environment, facing new technological equipment and encounters with the medical teams, the post-operative pain, the new roles women undertake as mothers. One of the factors that increase anxiety and depression in the postpartum period is the type of delivery. In Turkey, the rate of cesarean delivery is comparatively high, which is approximately 52%. Anxiety and depression after cesarean section develop due to fear and concern such as the complications that may occur during and after the mother's anesthesia, the possibility delaying breastfeeding her baby, and experiencing pain. Non-pharmacological evidence-based applications such as reiki, acupressure, hand and foot massage, yoga, reflexology, aromatherapy, skin to skin care, nursing care protocols were found to be effective in studies conducted to reduce anxiety and depression after cesarean-section. Nurses who have critical roles and responsibilities in pre-and post-cesarean care practices are recommended to include these evidence-based non-pharmacological practices in routine care practices. © 2022, Dokuz Eylul University. As the understanding of two-way communication and mutual relations has become important by 2000s, dialogue has also started to be re-embraced within different fields of social sciences. Although it is known as a communication between two individuals, it includes very sophisticated context. The quality of communication is the main point in dialogic communication. Although this concept has been widely used in different research fields such as culture, political communication, religion, sociology and international relations studies, it has not been conceptualized with all aspects. It still lacks of proper conceptualization and profound research. In this vein, the current study aims to explore the historical and conceptual background of dialogue. Based on comprehensive literature review, first, the conceptualization of “ideal” dialogue will be discussed within various philosophical and sociological perspectives. In doing so, the historical context will be taken into account. Then, “civil” dialogue will be examined within the framework of dialogue. It will be focused on its contextual and structural transformation under specific characteristics. In the conclusion, the study will discuss how and why civil society is appropriate to formation of dialogue.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 8A Novel Hybrid Machine Learning-Based System Using Deep Learning Techniques and Meta-Heuristic Algorithms for Various Medical Datatypes Classification(Mdpi, 2024) Kadhim, Yezi Ali; Guzel, Mehmet Serdar; Mishra, AlokMedicine is one of the fields where the advancement of computer science is making significant progress. Some diseases require an immediate diagnosis in order to improve patient outcomes. The usage of computers in medicine improves precision and accelerates data processing and diagnosis. In order to categorize biological images, hybrid machine learning, a combination of various deep learning approaches, was utilized, and a meta-heuristic algorithm was provided in this research. In addition, two different medical datasets were introduced, one covering the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of brain tumors and the other dealing with chest X-rays (CXRs) of COVID-19. These datasets were introduced to the combination network that contained deep learning techniques, which were based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) or autoencoder, to extract features and combine them with the next step of the meta-heuristic algorithm in order to select optimal features using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. This combination sought to reduce the dimensionality of the datasets while maintaining the original performance of the data. This is considered an innovative method and ensures highly accurate classification results across various medical datasets. Several classifiers were employed to predict the diseases. The COVID-19 dataset found that the highest accuracy was 99.76% using the combination of CNN-PSO-SVM. In comparison, the brain tumor dataset obtained 99.51% accuracy, the highest accuracy derived using the combination method of autoencoder-PSO-KNN.Article DEMOKRASİ VE MALİ YETKİLER İLİŞKİSİNDE YENİ BİR SOLUK(2019) Müftüoğlu, ZeynepDemokrasi ve mali yetkiler özellikle 13. yüzyıldan bu yana sıkı bir ilişki içinde olmuş; birbirine paralel bir gelişim izlemiştir. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 87 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients followed in Ankara Training and Research Hospital Infectious Diseases Clinic and Mamak State Hospital Infectious Diseases outpatient clinic and 89 healthcare personnel selected as the control group were included in the study. SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody levels in the serum samples of patients and healthcare personnel who received the COVID-19 vaccine were studied with the ELISA method in the Microbiology Laboratory of Ankara Training and Research Hospital, using a commercial ELISA kit (Abbott, USA) in line with the recommendations of the manufacturer. In the study, SARS-CoV-2 IgG levels were compared in CHB patients and healthcare personnel. In addition, the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 antibody level, gender, average age, natural history of the disease, number of vaccinations, vaccine type (Coronavac TM vaccine alone, BNT162b2 vaccine alone or Coronavac TM and BNT162b2 vaccine (heterologous vaccination)), treatment duration of CHB was investigated. Statistical analyses were made in the SPSS program. A value of p <= 0.05 was considered statistically significant. FINDINGS: A total of 167 people, including 87 CKD patients and 80 healthcare personnel as the control group, were included in the study. SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody levels were detected above the cut-off level in the entire study group, regardless of the vaccine type. No difference was detected in SARS-CoV-2 IgG titers after COVID-19 vaccination between CHB patients and healthcare personnel. There was a statistically significant difference in SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody levels among individuals participating in the study according to vaccine types. Compared to those who received Coronavac TM vaccine alone, the average SARS-CoV-2 IgG level was found to be statistically significantly higher in those who received BNT162b2 vaccine alone or heterologous vaccination with Coronavac TM + BNT162b2 vaccine. There was no difference between the groups in terms of age, gender, number of vaccinations, natural transmission of the disease, and duration of antiviral therapy in the CHD patient group. CONCLUSION: As a result, SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody levels above the cut-off value were achieved with Coronavac TM and BNT162b2 vaccines in both CHD patients and healthy control groups. however, both CHD patients and healthcare personnel had higher antibody levels than those who received BNT162b2 alone or those who received heterologous vaccination had higher antibody levels than those with Coronavac TM alone. Therefore, if there are no contraindications, BNT162b2 vaccine may be preferred in CHB and health personnel (Tab. 2, Ref. 14) .Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 6Further Development of Polyepichlorohydrin Based Anion Exchange Membranes for Reverse Electrodialysis by Tuning Cast Solution Properties(Mdpi, 2022) Eti, Mine; Cihanoglu, Aydin; Guler, Enver; Gomez-Coma, Lucia; Altiok, Esra; Arda, Muserref; Kabay, NalanRecently, there have been several studies done regarding anion exchange membranes (AEMs) based on polyepichlorohydrin (PECH), an attractive polymer enabling safe membrane fabrication due to its inherent chloromethyl groups. However, there are still undiscovered properties of these membranes emerging from different compositions of cast solutions. Thus, it is vital to explore new membrane properties for sustainable energy generation by reverse electrodialysis (RED). In this study, the cast solution composition was easily tuned by varying the ratio of active polymer (i.e., blend ratio) and quaternary agent (i.e., excess diamine ratio) in the range of 1.07-2.00, and 1.00-4.00, respectively. The membrane synthesized with excess diamine ratio of 4.00 and blend ratio of 1.07 provided the best results in terms of ion exchange capacity, 3.47 mmol/g, with satisfactory conductive properties (area resistance: 2.4 omega center dot cm(2), electrical conductivity: 6.44 mS/cm) and high hydrophilicity. RED tests were performed by AEMs coupled with the commercially available Neosepta CMX cation exchange membrane (CEMs).
