Article Citation - Scopus: 5Micro-Wedm of Ni55.8ti Shape Memory Superalloy: Experimental Investigation and Optimisation(Inderscience Publishers, 2021) Meshri,H.A.M.; Akar,S.; Seyedzavvar,M.; Kiliç,S.E.Nickel-titanium superalloy has gained significant acceptance for engineering applications as orthotropic implants, orthodontic devices, automatic actuators, etc. Considering the unique properties of these alloys, such as high hardness, toughness, strain hardening, and development of straininduced martensite, micro-wire electro-discharge machining (μ-WEDM) process has been accepted as one of the main options for cutting intricate shapes of these alloys in micro-scale. This paper presents the results of a comprehensive study to address the material removal rate (MRR) and surface integrity of Ni55.8Ti shape memory superalloy (SMA) in the μ-WEDM process. The effects of discharge current, pulse on-time, pulse off-time, and servo voltage on the performance of this process, including MRR, white layer thickness, surface roughness, and micro-hardness of the machined surface, were investigated by multi-regression analysis using response surface methodology (RSM). The optimisation of input parameters based on the gradient and the swarm optimisation algorithms were also conducted to maximise the MRR and minimise the white layer thickness, surface roughness, and micro-hardness of the machined samples. © 2021 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.. They may utilise their dual embeddedness in both the home country and the host country, and also use transnational links to gain a competitive advantage in exporting compared to indigenous entrepreneurs. Migrant entrepreneurs' advantage may, however, be contingent on attributes such as gender and education, especially among the first generation of migrants, in that being male and educated is more advantageous for migrants than for indigenous entrepreneurs. A representative sample of 50,371 entrepreneurs establishing or operating enterprises around the world was surveyed in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, which reports on migration and exporting. Hierarchical linear modelling shows that migrant entrepreneurs export more than indigenous entrepreneurs, especially in the first generation, and especially among educated and male migrants. These findings can be generalised to migrant and indigenous entrepreneurs worldwide to enhance knowledge about the entrepreneurial benefits of migration, albeit contingent on gender and education. This study provides investigations on micro-grooves fabricated on the rake face of tungsten carbide inserts (WC/Co) that were used in turning titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V under dry conditions. Tool inserts included varying micro-groove width (50∼100 μm), depth (10∼30 μm) and spacing (15∼100 μm). In the experiments, a constant depth of cut and a cutting speed were used. The effect of micro-textured tool surfaces on cutting force and tool wear was found to be significant. © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.Article Citation - Scopus: 15Software Quality Assurance Models in Small and Medium Organisations: a Comparison(Inderscience Publishers, 2006) Mishra,A.; Mishra,D.Presently, the majority of software development including outsourcing is carried out by small- and medium-sized software development organisations all over the world. These organisations are not capable of bearing the cost of implementing available software quality models like CMM, SPICE, ISO, etc. Therefore, there is a need to address this problem. In this paper, we have tried to compare the main characteristics, benefits, and limitations of the models for small and medium software development organisations. We believe that this effort will contribute towards the development of a standardised quality improvement model for small- and medium-sized software development organisations. However, the cutting of Ti-6Al-4V is challenging due to its poor machinability. Recently, ultrasonic cavitation-assisted machining (UCAM) has emerged as a cutting process that utilises high-frequency and low-amplitude vibrations to induce the formation of cavitation bubbles, thereby improving cutting performance. Despite the benefits of UCAM, there is lack of research investigating its application in Ti-6Al-4V. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of UCAM in improving the cutting performance of Ti-6Al-4V and compare it with conventional methods. Specifically, the study compares UCAM with conventional machining (CM) under conventional cutting fluid. The study reveals that UCAM can reduce cutting forces by up to 49.5% and surface roughness by up to 51.9%. Additionally, UCAM yields more uniform, homogeneous surfaces with reduced surface damage compared to CM. These results demonstrate the potential of UCAM for enhancing cutting performance of Ti-6Al-4V. Therefore, it is a great challenge to find an optimum solution for tool wear. In that sense, tool coatings provide various solutions for machining of hard materials or improving wear resistance. A cost-effective tool coating provides longer tool life, hence decreases the tool cost contribution in production. Boron nitride (BN) coating could be thought as a new generation coating method compared to titanium nitride (TiN), aluminium titanium nitride (AlTiN) or silicon aluminium oxy-nitride (SiAlON). BN coating material has a great strength, toughness and chemical stability whereas it has an important disadvantage of high intrinsic stress. In this industrial study, standard end mill cutters are coated with BN material by physical vapour deposition (PVD) method. The coated and uncoated milling tools are compared according to their wear resistance and the obtained workpiece surface roughness. First results of the study are presented in this paper. © 2017 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.Article Citation - Scopus: 8The Determinants of E-Tourism Websites for Tourists While Selecting a Travel Destination(Inderscience Publishers, 2022) Chatterjee,S.; Majumdar,D.; Misra,S.; Damasevicius,R.The purpose of this article is to identify the determinants of the e-tourism websites for tourists to select their travel destinations. Based on the review of the literature, a conceptual model has been developed. The model contains antecedents of e-tourism websites that could help a tourist to select the travel destination. The model has been validated statistically with a survey involving 309 usable respondents. The PLS-SEM analysis was conducted for hypotheses testing and for validation of the conceptual model. The results show that the antecedents of e-tourism websites like the ease of use, website enjoyment, perceived authenticity of websites, and perceived risk have an impact on the tourists for selection of their travel destinations. The e-tourism websites should possess special features to help travellers to accurately finalise their travel destinations. The developer of the website should design the websites to be interactive so that the viewers can enjoy while surfing the website and should be cautious towards the accuracy of the information-content so that the viewers can feel the contents authenticated. Since there are not many studies in the context of the contribution of e-tourism websites for selecting a travel destination, this study has taken an attempt to fill up this gap. © 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.Article Citation - Scopus: 4Volume Combustion and Mechanochemical Syntheses of Lab6(Inderscience Publishers, 2017) Akgün,B.; Sevinç,N.; Çamurlu,H.E.; Topkaya,Y.LaB6 powder was produced by volume combustion synthesis (VCS) and mechanochemical synthesis (MCS) methods, through magnesiothermic reduction of La2O3 and B2O3 powders. VCS was achieved by rapid heating of the reactant mixture in argon, whereas MCS was performed via high energy ball milling. All the products were subjected to XRD, SEM, gravimetric and particle size distribution analyses. MCS resulted in the expected products LaB6 and MgO. In addition to these, VCS products contained LaBO3 and Mg3B2O6. In order to obtain pure LaB6, 30 min leach in 1 M HCl was found to be enough for MCS products, whereas Mg3B2O6 could not be removed from the VCS products even after 15 h leach. Wet milling of VCS products before leach facilitated obtaining of pure LaB6. Average particle sizes of the LaB6 powder produced by VCS and MCS were 290 and 180 nm, respectively. An m-consecutive-k-out-of-n:F system with overlapping runs is a system consisting of n linearly ordered components and fails if and only if there are at least m overlapping runs of k consecutive failures. For m = 1, the system is same with the usual consecutive-k-out-of-n:F system. In this paper, we study the reliability properties of such systems via system signature. In particular, we obtain a closed form expression for the signature of this system and use it to compute and evaluate several reliability characteristics of the system. Successful phishing attack may result into financial loss and identity theft. Identifying forensic characteristics of phishing attack can help to detect the attack and its perpetuators and as well as to enable defence against it. To shield internet users from phishing assaults, numerous anti-phishing models have been proposed. Currently employed techniques to handle these challenges are not sufficient and capable enough. We aim at identifying phishing sites in order to guard internet users from being vulnerable to any form of phishing attacks by verifying the conceptual and literal consistency between the uniform resource locator (URL) and the web content. The implementation of the proposed PhishDetect method achieves an accuracy of 99.1%; indicating that it is effective in detecting various forms of phishing attacks. © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd..
