We have evaluated the existing evaluation criteria for OO metrics, and based on the observations, a model is proposed which tries to cover most of the features for the evaluation of OO metrics. The model is validated by applying it to existing OO metrics. This technology has found a rapidly growing market, and an increasing variety of enterprises are employing RFID to improve the efficiency of their operations and to gain competitive advantage. In the aviation industry, major airports/airlines have been looking for the opportunity to adopt RFID in the area of baggage handling for a long time. Many pilot tests have been done at numerous US., European, and Hong Kong airports. RFID tags were found to be far more accurate than bar codes, and their performance was also measured to be well above that of bar codes. This paper presents the state of RFID adoption planning, architecture and implementation at a major airline, with a special focus on improved services due to improved baggage handling, on increased airport/airline security and on frequent flier program services. Although the rates of RTAs are decreasing in most developed countries, this is not the case in developing countries. The increase in the number of vehicles and inefficient drivers on the road, as well as to the poor conditions and maintenance of the roads, are responsible for this crisis in developing countries. In this paper, we produce a design of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model for the analysis and prediction of accident rates in a developing country. We apply the most recent (1998 to 2010) data to our model. In the design, the number of vehicles, accidents, and population were selected and used as model parameters. The sigmoid and linear functions were used as activation functions with the feed forward-back propagation algorithm. The performance evaluation of the model signified that the ANN model is better than other statistical methods in use.Article Measuring the Reusable Quality for Xml Schema Documents(Budapest Tech, 2013) Thaw, Tinzar; Misra, SanjayeXtensible Markup Language (XML) based web applications are widely used for data describing and providing internet services. The design of XML schema document (XSD) needs to be quantified with software with the reusable nature of XSD. This nature of documents helps software developers to produce software at a lower software development cost. This paper proposes a metric Entropy. Measure of Complexity (EMC), which is intended to measure the reusable quality of XML schema documents. A higher EMC value tends to more reusable quality, and as well, a higher EMC value implies that this schema document contains inheritance feature, elements and attributes. For empirical validation, the metric is applied on 70 WSDL schema files. A comparison with similar measures is also performed. The proposed EMC metric is also validated practically and theoretically. Empirical, theoretical and practical validation and a comparative study proves that the EMC metric is a valid metric and capable of measuring the reusable quality of XSD.Article Citation - WoS: 11Citation - Scopus: 17Software Measurement Activities in Small and Medium Enterprises: an Empirical Assessment(Budapest Tech, 2011) Pusatli, O. The research questions are discussed and validated with the help of senior software managers (more than 15 years' experience) and then used for interviewing a variety of medium and small scale software companies in Ankara. Observations show that there is a common reluctance/lack of interest in utilizing measurements/metrics despite the fact that they are well known in the industry. However, the numbers of specific software metrics to evaluate the JAVA code are limited In this paper, we evaluate the applicability of a recently developed multi paradigm metric to JAVA projects. The experimentations show that the Multi paradigm metric is an effective measure for estimating the complexity of the JAVA code/projects, and therefore it can be used for controlling the quality of the projects. In particular, we present how the Navigational Development Techniques (NDT) approach exploits the model-driven paradigm to improve its requirements validation task by exploring tool cases that systematize or even automate the application of requirements validation techniques. Our solution is validated by applying it in a real industrial environment. The results and the learned lessons are presented accordingly.
