    Insomnia Severity Predicts Psychiatric Symptoms: a Cross-Sectional Study Investigating the Partial Mediations of Worry and Rumination

    Objective: Insomnia as a disorder on its own or as a symptom of other mental disorders can lead to significant distress and lower quality of life. By exacerbating negative affect and emotion dysregulation, poor sleep and insomnia can contribute to the initiation and maintenance of mental disorders. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the relationship between insomnia severity and overall psychiatric symptoms (anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, somatization, phobic anxiety, hostility, interpersonal sensitivity, paranoid ideation, and psychoticism), and the mediational roles of worry and rumination in this relationship. Method: The data was collected from a community sample of 1444 participants (females 69.39%, M-age=27.95, SD=9.37) who completed self-report measures of insomnia severity, worry, rumination, and psychiatric symptoms. The mediational roles of worry and rumination were tested with mediation analysis using the PROCESS Macro. Results: It was found that insomnia severity (beta=0.20, p<.001) significantly predicted psychiatric symptoms directly and via worry and rumination (beta=0.33, p<.001), meaning that worry and rumination partially mediated the relationship between insomnia severity and psychiatric symptoms. The findings were similar after controlling for smoking status, daily screen time, coffee consumption in the evening, weekly exercise frequency, and pre-sleep screen time. Conclusions: Interventions targeting the reduction of insomnia severity and maladaptive emotion regulation strategies (e.g., worry and rumination), as well as the enhancement of adaptive emotion regulation strategies (e.g., positive refocusing and mindfulness), may alleviate the adverse effects of insomnia on psychiatric symptoms.

    A New Approach To the Existence and Uniqueness of Solutions for A Class of Nonlinear Q-Fractional Boundary Value Problems

    The object of this study is a boundary value problem associated with a q-difference equation of fractional order. The existence and uniqueness of a solution in the case of multi-point boundary conditions is studied from the viewpoint of fixed point theory. An integral equation equivalent to the boundary value problem is derived and the fixed points of the related integral operator are investigated by using a contractive condition involving a comparison function. The Ulam-Hyers stability of the problem is also discussed. Theoretical results are followed by a particular example.

    Development and Psychometric Analysis of a Pediatric Oncology Nurses' Educational Needs Scale

    Background/objectivesIt is important to determine the educational needs of pediatric oncology nurses in order to maximize and implement nursing care interventions. Therefore, this study aims to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine pediatric oncology nurses' educational needs and examine its psychometric properties. Design/methodsThis methodological study was conducted with 215 pediatric oncology nurses in Turkey between December 2021 and July 2022. Data were collected with the "Nurse Information Form" and "Pediatric Oncology Nurses' Educational Needs Scale." IBM SPSS 21.0 and IBM AMOS 25.0 software programs were used for data analysis, and descriptive statistics were used to analyze numeric variables. Exploration and confirmatory factor analyses were performed to determine the scale's factorial structure. ResultsThe factorial analysis was used to test the structural validity of the scale. A five-factor structure consisting of 42 items was developed. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for "Illness" was .978, "Chemotherapy and Side Effect" was .978, "Another Therapy and Side Effect" was .974, "Palliative Care" was .967, "Supportive Care" was .985, and the total score was .990. Fit indices resulting from the study were chi(2)/SD: 3.961, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA): 0.072, goodness-of-fit index (GFI): 0.95, comparative-of-fit index (CFI): 0.96, and normed fit index (NFI): 0.95. ConclusionThe Pediatric Oncology Nurses' Educational Needs Scale is a valid and reliable scale for pediatric oncology nurses to determine their educational needs.

    Synthesis of Α-fe2o3< Heterogeneous Composites by the Sol-Gel Process and Their Photocatalytic Activity

    alpha-Fe2O3/TiO2 heterogeneous composites were synthesized by the sol-gel process to increase the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. The structural, morphological, and optical characteristics of the composites were determined by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Results revealed that the incorporation of alpha-Fe2O3 to TiO2 widened the visible light absorption ability of TiO2. It was realized that the calcination temperature plays a crucial role in morphology development hence photocatalytic activity of the alpha-Fe2O3/TiO2 heterogeneous composites. The photocatalytic activity of the composites calcined at various temperatures was evaluated for the degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) and Phenol (Ph) in aqueous medium under UV and sun-like illuminations. The alpha-Fe2O3-TiO2 composites exhibits superior photocatalytic efficiency to degrade both MB and Ph as compared to both pristine TiO2 and pristine alpha-Fe2O3 under sun-like illumination. The alpha-Fe2O3/TiO2 composite degraded approximately 90 % of MB and 50 % of Ph in 180 min sun-like illumination. Improvement in photocatalytic activity is attributed to the separation of photogenerated electron/hole pairs through the interaction of alpha-Fe(2)O(3 )and TiO2.

    Analysis of Temperature-Dependent Forward and Leakage Conduction Mechanisms in Organic Thin Film Heterojunction Diode With Fluorine-Based Pcbm Blend

    The forward and reversed biased current-voltage behaviors of the organic diode were detailed in a wide range of temperatures. In this diode, a donor-acceptor-conjugated copolymer system was constructed with poly((9,9-dioctylfluorene)-2,7-diyl-(2-dodecyl-benzo[1,2,3]triazole)) as a partner of [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). Two-order of magnitude rectification ratio was achieved, and the temperature-dependent values of saturation current, zero-bias barrier height, and ideality factor were extracted according to the thermionic emission model. The temperature responses of these diode parameters showed an existence of inhomogeneity in the barrier height formation. As a result, the observed non-ideal behavior was explained by Gaussian distribution of barrier height where low-barrier regions are effective in the forward biased conduction mechanism at low temperatures. Together with this analysis, series resistances were evaluated using Cheung's functions and also density of interface states were investigated. On the other hand, reverse biased current flow was found under the dominant effect of Poole-Frenkel effects associated with these interfacial traps. The reverse current conduction mechanism was detailed by calculating characteristic field-lowering coefficients and barrier height values in the emission process from the trapped state in the range of temperatures of interest.

    Statistical Randomness Tests of Long Sequences by Dynamic Partitioning

    Random numbers have a wide usage in the area of cryptography. In practice, pseudo random number generators are used in place of true random number generators, as regeneration of them may be required. Therefore because of generation methods of pseudo random number sequences, statistical randomness tests have a vital importance. In this paper, a randomness test suite is specified for long binary sequences. In literature, there are many randomness tests and test suites. However, in most of them, to apply randomness test, long sequences are partitioned into a certain fixed length and the collection of short sequences obtained is evaluated instead. In this paper, instead of partitioning a long sequence into lixed length subsequences, a concept of dynamic partitioning is introduced in accordance with the random variable in consideration. Then statistical methods are applied. The suggested suite, containing four statistical tests: Collision Tests, Weight Test, Linear Complexity Test and Index Coincidence Test, all of them work with the idea of dynamic partitioning. Besides the adaptation of this approach to randomness tests, the index coincidence test is another contribution of this work. The distribution function and the application of all tests are given in the paper.

    Characterization of Properties of Vanadium, Boron and Strontium Addition on Hpdc of A360 Alloy

    The demand for lighter weight decreased thickness and higher strength has become the focal point in the automotive industry. In order to meet such requirements, the addition of several alloying elements has been started to be investigated. In this work, the additions of V, B, and Sr on feedability and tensile properties of A360 has been studied. A mold design that consisted of test bars has been produced. Initially, a simulation was carried out to optimize the runners, filling, and solidification parameters. Following the tests, it was found that V addition revealed the highest UTS but low elongation at fracture, while B addition exhibited visa verse. On the other hand, impact energy was higher with B additions.

    Internationalization of Turkish Tv Soap Operas: a Case Study

    As multi-channel television gained popularity in Turkiye, Turkish soap operas began to attract international audiences. Their success in international trade and rising prominence in the global television market have significantly boosted Turkey’s service exports and strengthened its global image. In 2023, the country became the third largest exporter of television soap operas in the world, with exports reaching around $600 million, behind only the U.S. and the U.K. This study offers a comprehensive perspective on the internationalization process of Turkish soap operas. The study employed an interpretative paradigm, utilizing semi‐structured interviews and content analysis of pertinent literature.     Evaluation of the Effects of Avatar on Learning Temporomandibular Joint in a Metaverse-Based Training

    PurposeAvatars, representing users in the digital world, can influence users' behavior and attitudes. This study evaluates the impact of representing dental students receiving temporomandibular joint (TMJ) education in the metaverse via an anonymous or identified avatar.MethodsParticipants included 80 dental students in their fourth and fifth years of study. They were randomly assigned to either the avatar group (identified avatar) or the control group (anonymous avatar). Prior to training, participants completed a demographic questionnaire and a pretraining knowledge assessment. TMJ training was conducted in the metaverse for both groups. Pre- and post-training assessments included the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and a shyness scale to ensure group comparability. A post-test consisting of five questions was administered to both groups after 2 weeks of training.ResultsThere were no significant differences in pretraining scores for prior knowledge (p = 0.67), trait anxiety (p = 0.28), state anxiety (p = 0.92), or shyness (p = 0.42) between the avatar and control groups, indicating comparability at baseline. Post-training analysis revealed significantly higher post-test scores in the avatar group (median = 80) compared to the control group (median = 60) (p = 0.03).ConclusionsMetaverse environments offer various benefits for students, educators, and educational institutions in health education programs. Representing learners and their identities in training environments can enhance learning outcomes.

    JAK Inhibitors/Drug Interactions

    JAK inhibitors are a group of drugs that can affect the signaling of various cytokines simultaneously. The number of indications in dermatology has been increasing in recent years. JAK inhibitors are largely metabolized by the liver. Therefore, drug–drug interactions may occur when used with cytochrome P450 and CYP2C19 inhibitors or inducers, and drug dosages should be adjusted or not used together. In addition, OAT-3 inhibitors, which are known to play a role in renal elimination, interact with some JAK inhibitors, and dose adjustment is recommended.
