Article Citation - WoS: 14Citation - Scopus: 15Lmi Approach To the Global Robust Stability of a Larger Class of Neural Networks With Delay(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2007) Singh, VimalSufficient conditions in the form of linear matrix inequality for the uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point of a large class of uncertain neural networks with delay are presented. The conditions are based on norm-bounded uncertainties. An example is given to show the effectiveness of the obtained results. A comparison is made between the present approach and an earlier approach due to Lu, Rong and Chen. An error is corrected in an earlier publication. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. The criterion is a marked improvement over a recent criterion due to Cao, Huang and Qu. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. Elimination of overflow oscillations in fixed-point state-space digital filters using saturation arithmetic. IEEE Trans Circ Syst 1990;37(6):814-8], a frequency-domain criterion for the suppression of limit cycles in fixed-point state-space digital filters using saturation overflow arithmetic was presented. The passivity property owing to the presence of multiple saturation nonlinearities was exploited therein. In the present paper, a new notion of passivity, namely, that involving the state variables is considered, thereby arriving at an entirely new frequency-domain criterion for the suppression of limit cycles in such filters. The present proof yields some interesting observations. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. The criterion is derived by exploiting the structural properties of the system under consideration in a greater detail. A novel feature of the criterion is that it takes the form of a matrix inequality, despite the fact that there is single nonlinearity in the system. An example showing the effectiveness of the criterion is given. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. An example illustrating the improvement of the present criterion over several recently reported criteria is given. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. The conditions turn out to be greatly simplified versions of the exponential stability results previously reported by Yucel and Arik. A distinct feature of the present criteria is that they are free of the degree of exponential stability. This feature makes the criteria computationally very attractive. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. The criterion is a modified form of a previously reported criterion. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. The uncertainties are assumed to be norm-bounded. A new type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is employed to derive the result. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. The criterion is based on the factorization B = B(1)B(2), where B denotes the delayed connection weight matrix. In the present paper, this criterion is compared with the criterion reported in [Phys Lett A 2003;311(6):504-11]. It turns out that, as far as the case of a nonsingular matrix B, is concerned, these two criteria are one and the same. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
