Article Citation - WoS: 144Citation - Scopus: 156Uniqueness of Solution for Higher-Order Nonlinear Fractional Differential Equations With Multi-Point and Integral Boundary Conditions(Springer-verlag Italia Srl, 2021) Sevinik-Adiguzel, Rezan; Aksoy, Umit; Karapinar, Erdal; Erhan, Inci M.This study is devoted to the development of alternative conditions for existence and uniqueness of nonlinear fractional differential equations of higher-order with integral and multi-point boundary conditions. It uses a novel approach of employing a fixed point theorem based on contractive iterates of the integral operator for the corresponding fixed point problem. We start with developing an existence-uniqueness theorem for self-mappings with contractive iterate in a b-metric-like space. Then, we obtain the unique solvability of the problem under suitable conditions by utilizing an appropriate b-metric-like space.Article Citation - WoS: 38Citation - Scopus: 48Fixed Points of Modified f-contractive Mappings in Complete Metric-Like Spaces(Hindawi Ltd, 2015) Alsulami, Hamed H.; Karapinar, Erdal; Piri, HosseinWe introduce the notion of modified F-contractive mappings in the setting of complete metric-like spaces and we investigate the existence and uniqueness of fixed point of such mappings. The presented results unify, extend, and improve several results in the related literature.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 14Existence of a Solution of Integral Equations Via Fixed Point Theorem(Springeropen, 2013) Gulyaz, Selma; Karapinar, Erdal; Rakocevic, Vladimir; Salimi, PeymanIn this paper, we establish a solution to the following integral equation: u(t) = integral(T)(0) G(t, s)f(s, u(s)) ds for all t is an element of [0,T], (1) where T > 0, f : [0, T] x R -> R and G : [0, T] x [0, T] -> [0, infinity) are continuous functions. For this purpose, we also obtain some auxiliary fixed point results which generalize, improve and unify some fixed point theorems in the literature.Article Citation - WoS: 77Citation - Scopus: 81α-admissible mappings and related fixed point theorems(Springeropen, 2013) Hussain, Nawab; Karapinar, Erdal; Salimi, Peyman; Akbar, FarhanaIn this paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a fixed point for certain alpha-admissible contraction mappings. Our results generalize and extend some well-known results on the topic in the literature. We consider some examples to illustrate the usability of our results.Article Citation - WoS: 79Citation - Scopus: 82A Generalized Contraction Principle With Control Functions on Partial Metric Spaces(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2012) Abdeljawad, Thabet; Karapinar, Erdal; Tas, KenanPartial metric spaces were introduced by Matthews in 1994 as a part of the study of denotational semantics of data flow networks. In this article, we prove a generalized contraction principle with control functions phi and psi on partial metric spaces. The theorems we prove generalize many previously obtained results. We also give some examples showing that our theorems are indeed proper extensions. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd. These results extend some previous results in the literature, since the condition under which the operator admits common fixed points is more general than the others in literature. Therefore, several well known results are generalized. As an application we use these results to existence of solution for nonlinear quadratic integral equation. To credibility, we apply modified homotopy and Adomian decomposition method to find solution of the above problem with high accuracy. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. In a very recent paper, Khojasteh et al. introduced the notion of simulation function in order to express different contractivity conditions in a unified way, and they obtained some fixed point results. In this paper, we slightly modify their notion of simulation function and we investigate the existence and uniqueness of coincidence points of two nonlinear operators using this kind of control functions. Our method relies on constructive arguments involving Picard type iteration processes and our uniqueness result uses comparability arguments. Our results generalize a multitude of fixed point theorems in the literature to the context of partially ordered metric spaces.Article Citation - WoS: 13Citation - Scopus: 16A Short Note on the Common Fixed Points of the Geraghty Contraction of Type es<(de Gruyter Poland Sp Zoo, 2018) Alqahtani, Badr; Fulga, Andreea; Karapinar, ErdalIn this paper, we propose a new contraction type for two self-mappings and investigate the necessary conditions for the existence and uniqueness of coincidence points and common fixed points, respectively. We put some examples to illustrate our main results.Article Citation - WoS: 52Citation - Scopus: 62F-Contraction Mappings on Metric-Like Spaces in Connection With Integral Equations on Time Scales(Springer-verlag Italia Srl, 2020) Agarwal, Ravi P.; Aksoy, Umit; Karapinar, Erdal; Erhan, Inci M.In this paper we investigate the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of certain (phi,F)-type contractions in the frame of metric-like spaces. As an application of the theorem we consider the existence and uniqueness of solutions of nonlinear Fredholm integral equations of the second kind on time scales. We also present a particular example which demonstrates our theoretical results.
