Article Citation - WoS: 35Fixed Point Theorem on Partial Metric Spaces Involving Rational Expressions(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2013) Karapinar, Erdal; Shatanawi, Wasfi; Tas, KenanWe establish a fixed point theorem involving a rational expression in a complete partial metric space. Our result generalizes a well-known result in (usual) metric spaces. Also, we introduce an example to illustrate the usability of our result.Article Citation - WoS: 47Citation - Scopus: 46A Nadler-Type Fixed Point Theorem in Dislocated Spaces and Applications(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2018) Aydi, H.; Felhi, A.; Karapinar, Erdal; Sahmim, S.In this paper, we introduce the concept of a Hausdorff dislocated metric. We initiate the study of fixed point theory for multi-valued mappings on dislocated metric space using the Hausdorff dislocated metric and we prove a generalization of the well known Nadler's fixed point theorem. Moreover, we provide some examples and we give an application of our main result.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 3Lyapunov and Hartman-Type Inequalities for Higher-Order Discrete Fractional Boundary Value Problems(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2023) Oguz, Arzu Denk; Alzabut, Jehad; Ozbekler, Abdullah; Jonnalagadda, Jagan MohanBy employing Green's function, we obtain new Lyapunov and Hartman-type inequalities for higher-order discrete fractional boundary value problems. Reported results essentially generalize some theorems existing in the literature. As an application, we discuss the corresponding eigenvalue problems.Article On Quasi-Weibull Distribution(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2025) Ostrovska, Sofiya; Turan, MehmetExponential distribution together with a variety of its transformations is permanently used both in probability theory and related fields. The most popular one is the power transformation yielding the Weibull distribution. In this paper, the power distribution of exponential random variable is supplemented by a logarithmic factor leading to a new distribution called quasi-Weibull. This is a three-parameter distribution, where one parameter is inherited from the underlying exponential distribution, and the others originate from the transformation. The properties of the quasi-Weibull distribution are studied. Specifically, the impact of the parameters on the analyticity of characteristic function, the existence of the moment generating function, the moment-determinacy/indeterminacy and the behaviour of the hazard function are investigated.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 2Existence of Solutions for Third Order Multi Point Impulsive Boundary Value Problems on Time Scales(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2022) Georgiev, Svetlin G.; Akgol, Sibel D.; Kus, M. EymenIn this paper, we obtain sufficient conditions for existence of solutions of a third order m-point impulsive boundary value problem on time scales. To the best of our knowledge, there is hardly any work dealing with third order multi point dynamic impulsive BVPs. The reason may be the complex arguments caused by both impulsive perturbations and calculations on time scales. As an application, we give an example demonstrating our results.Article Citation - WoS: 68A Note on Common Fixed Point Theorems in Partial Metric Spaces(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2011) Karapinar, ErdalIn this manuscript, we consider the notion of generalized Sehgal contraction condition in a partial metric space. For the pair of two self mappings (S, T) which satisfies Sehgal contraction condition, we obtain a unique common fixed point.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2NEW RESULTS FOR OSCILLATORY PROPERTIES OF NEUTRAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH A p-LAPLACIAN LIKE OPERATOR(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2020) Bazighifan, O.; Grace, S. R.; Alzabut, J.; Ozbekler, A.Results reported in this paper provide a generalization for some previously obtained results. Based on comparing with the oscillatory behavior of first-order delay equations, we provide new oscillation criteria for the solutions of even-order neutral differential equations with a p-Laplacian like operator. The proposed theorems not only provide totally different approach but also essentially improve a number of results reported in the literature. To demonstrate the advantage of our results, we present two examples.Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 5Fixed Point Theorems in Uniform Space Endowed With Graph(Univ Miskolc inst Math, 2017) Ali, Muhammad Usman; Fahimuddin; Kamran, Tayyab; Karapinar, ErdalIn this paper, we shall introduce the concepts of F-G-contraction and psi(G)-contraction in uniform space endowed with graph to investigate the existence of a fixed point of mappings satisfying these notions. We shall also introduce a common fixed point theorem for pair of mappings satisfying the notion of psi(G)-contraction in uniform space endowed with graph.
