    (Ieee, 2008) Aydin, C. C.; Turkmen, G.; Ozyurt, E.; Aydin, E. U.; Cagiltay, N. E.; Ozbek, M. E.; Kara, A.
In the last decade, the effect of internet usage in education is gradually increased. When we look from academic perspective, the new technologies provided alternatives for students learning. As distance education becomes important everyday, the indispensable elements of teaching and education, laboratories must be reachable via remote connection. Consequently, the education that is going to be given to the students will be more flexible with respect to place and time constraints and students can reach laboratory facilities at any time and anywhere not only in lectures and practical hours. In this study, European Remote Radio Laboratory (ERRL) which is a distance remote Radio Frequency (RF) laboratory designed for electrical-electronics students, is described generally. The software architecture, infrastructure and experiment that can be done with a remote connection have been described.

An Undergraduate Curriculum for Deep Learning
(Ieee, 2018) Tirkes, Guzin; Ekin, Cansu Cigdem; Sengul, Gokhan; Bostan, Atila; Karakaya, Murat
Deep Learning (DL) is an interesting and rapidly developing field of research which has been currently utilized as a part of industry and in many disciplines to address a wide range of problems, from image classification, computer vision, video games, bioinformatics, and handwriting recognition to machine translation. The starting point of this study is the recognition of a big gap between the sector need of specialists in DL technology and the lack of sufficient education provided by the universities. Higher education institutions are the best environment to provide this expertise to the students. However, currently most universities do not provide specifically designed DL courses to their students. Thus, the main objective of this study is to design a novel curriculum including two courses to facilitate teaching and learning of DL topic. The proposed curriculum will enable students to solve real-world problems by applying DL approaches and gain necessary background to adapt their knowledge to more advanced, industry-specific fields.

How Assessment System of an Open Source Learning Management System Can Be Integrated To a Remote Laboratory Application? Problems and Solutions
(Ieee, 2007) Aydin, Cansu Cigdem; Cagiltay, Nergiz Ercil
Most of the education programs need an assessment system for formative and summative evaluation purposes. Similarly, in the ERRL* project which is a distance remote radio frequency laboratory application, assessment system is required. However, developing an assessment system cost is very high and requires some extra time for testing and development purposes. Open source systems provide these services in a standard way. Since the source is open, it is possible to make some modifications to better adapt these systems to the requirements of developed systems. Similarly, in the Moodle part of the system we need to integrate the test and the experiment platforms. hi order to better guide the learners in the system, they should take some tests about the devices and the theoretical content included in the system. It is important to prevent users Who do not have the enough knowledge directed to the experiments platform. These testing requirements should be integrated into the remote laboratory system, so that, the learners should not need to jump between different systems and interfaces. This article presents implementation process of open source Learning Management System software's assessment module to a remote laboratory application and it also discusses the advantages, disadvantages of using an open source Web based assessment system.

Mba Students' Preference On: Online, Formal and Hybrid Mba Programs
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2011) Rouyendegh, Babak Daneshvar; Erkan, Turan Erman
In recent years, there has been a rapid rise in student enrolments in both online and formal MBA programs. This study is based on the results of a case study in which over 30 students enrolled in a top-ranked online and formal MBA program. Thus, the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) has been used for choosing the program. Due to the inability of AHP to deal with the impression and subjectiveness in the pair-wise comparison process, the FAHP has been used. The result of the research is interesting since neither an online nor a formal education program is preferred; a hybrid one has been developed. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

A Fuzzy Ahp for Evaluation of Ecommerce Websites Performance
(Acad Conferences Ltd, 2012) ictenbas, Burcu Devrim; Rouyendegh, Babak Daneshvar
eCommerce has become an essential part of business strategy in the rising (emerging) global economy. In order to be successful in the eCommerce marketplace, organizations will need to provide high quality websites that attract and retain users. It is a need to understand and evaluate eCommerce websites to achieve high quality. Evaluation of eCommerce websites is a multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problem since it includes analysis of both qualitative and quantitative factors. Also human judgment has taken part in this process. This paper presents FAHP to evaluate three eCommerce websites. The results will be a guide for decision makers in terms of improvable areas to design eCommerce websites.

Effects of BPR on ERP Implementation Success and Supply Chain Performance
(Acad Conferences Ltd, 2012) Erkan, Erman; Bac, Ugur; Rouyendegh, Babak Daneshvar
Recently, studies about the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) have been increased and this research area has attracted more attention. Especially, in the global competition environment, enterprises have to focus on their Information Systems (IS) performance to have a competitive advantage; implementing an ERP system and improving the effectiveness of the system is the only way. To do so; factors affecting the implementation success of ERP systems have to be inspected in pursuant of some performance measurements and metrics. Since unsuccessful ERP implementations result in high costs; use of these factors and making the necessary preparations will increase the chance of a successful ERP implementation. According to literature Business Process Reengineering (BPR) has a vital role on the ERP success. In this study, a research has been made on the Turkish enterprises to determine the criteria affecting their success on the implementation of ERP systems by the utilization of a questionnaire. Questionnaire results have been analyzed with statistical methods to summarize the current situation of IS structure, Information Management Systems integration level, ERP success rate and effects of BPR on this success rate in Turkish enterprises. Results of this study can be used to define the relation between the ERP and BPR. Understanding this relation is vital for the planned or ongoing ERP implementations. Factors and criteria found in this study which have effects on the ERP systems success should be considered during the implementation planning phase of these systems for efficiently managing the budget of projects. Importance of BPR which was emphasized in this study should be considered by the management of enterprises for evaluating their IS to determine if they are ready for the implementation phase. If they are not, findings will serve as a guideline for improving the chance of successful implementation and this will affect overall performance of the company. Results of this study can also be used in the future studies to compare international differences of IS structures and ERP implementation processes.

Today companies face the challenge of increasing competition, expanding markets and rising competition. Many organizations seek to improve their competitiveness by utilizing advanced information technology, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Selection of appropriate ERP system is a vital decision for any enterprise in this intense competitive environment. The selection process is complicated since complexity of ERP systems and too many alternatives. Requirements analysis of a software system like ERP is often considered to be one of the most important steps in the software selection process. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a methodology to translate customer requirements into the final product or service characteristics. In spite of successful applications of QFD in familiar fields such as product planning, education quality and service quality, the usability of QFD in the selection of software systems have been seen in only few studies. The purpose of the study is to determinethe most important technical attributes of the ERP systems from the end - users' perspective using QFD methodology. The developed framework integrates ERP characteristics obtained from vendors in the market and the list of customer requirements by taking into account the company profile and strategic selection criteria. The solution proposed in this study will support decision makers to manage the early stages of ERP selection according the company's needs.
