Coupled Coincidence Point and Coupled Fixed Point Theorems via Generalized Meir-Keeler Type Contractions
(Hindawi Ltd, 2012) Aydi, Hassen; Karapinar, Erdal; Erhan, Inci M.
We prove coupled coincidence point and coupled fixed point results of F : X x X -> X and g : X -> X involving Meir-Keeler type contractions on the class of partially ordered metric spaces. Our results generalize some recent results in the literature. Also, we give some illustrative examples and application.

Best Proximity Point Theorems for kt-types Cyclic Orbital Contraction Mappings
(House Book Science-casa Cartii Stiinta, 2012) Karapinar, Erdal; Petrusel, Gabriela; Tas, Kenan; Mathematics
In this manuscript, three new KT-types cyclic orbital contractions are defined and some related best proximity point theorems are given. Also, the notion of KT-type cyclic orbital Meir-Keeler contraction is defined and some fixed point theorems for this class of mappings are proved. The results of this manuscript generalize some theorems, on the same subject, of several authors, such as Kirk-Srinavasan-Veeramani, Eldered-Veeramani and Karpagam-Agrawal.

A New Approach To the Solution of the Fredholm Integral Equation Via a Fixed Point on Extended b-metric Spaces
(Mdpi, 2018) Karapinar, Erdal; Kumari, Panda Sumati; Lateef, Durdana
It is very well known that real-life applications of fixed point theory are restricted with the transformation of the problem in the form of f(x) = x. (1) The Knaster-Tarski fixed point theorem underlies various approaches of checking the correctness of programs. (2) The Brouwer fixed point theorem is used to prove the existence of Nash equilibria in games. (3) Dlala et al. proposed a solution for magnetic field problems via the fixed point approach. In this paper, by obtaining the fixed point results in an extended b-metric space, we are able to consider real-life applications in a very general frame such as a simple and efficient solution for a Fredholm integral equation by using the technique of a fixed point in the consideration of a new abstract space: the extended b-metric space. Moreover, to address conceptual depth within this approach, we supply illustrative examples of usage where necessary.

Generalized Alpha-Psi Type Mappings of Integral Type and Related Fixed Point Theorems
(Springer, 2014) Karapinar, Erdal; Shahi, Priya; Tas, Kenan
The aim of this paper is to introduce two classes of generalized alpha-psi-contractive type mappings of integral type and to analyze the existence of fixed points for these mappings in complete metric spaces. Our results are improved versions of a multitude of relevant fixed point theorems of the existing literature.

Best Proximity Point Results for Mk-Proximal Contractions
(Hindawi Publishing Corporation, 2012) Jleli, Mohamed; Karapinar, Erdal; Samet, Bessem
Let A and B be nonempty subsets of a metric space with the distance function d, and T : A -> B is a given non-self-mapping. The purpose of this paper is to solve the nonlinear programming problem that consists in minimizing the real-valued function x bar right arrow. d (x, Tx), where T belongs to a new class of contractive mappings. We provide also an iterative algorithm to find a solution of such optimization problems.

Fixed Point Theorems for Generalized Contractions on gp-metric Spaces
(Springeropen, 2013) Bilgili, Nurcan; Karapinar, Erdal; Salimi, Peyman
In this paper, we present two fixed point theorems on mappings, defined on GP-complete GP-metric spaces, which satisfy a generalized contraction property determined by certain upper semi-continuous functions. Furthermore, we illustrate applications of our theorems with a number of examples. Inspired by the work of Jachymski, we also establish equivalences of certain auxiliary maps in the context of GP-complete GP-metric spaces. MSC: 47H10, 54H25.

Fixed Point Theorems Via Auxiliary Functions
(Hindawi Publishing Corporation, 2012) Karapinar, Erdal; Salimi, Peyman
We prove new fixed point theorems in the framework of partially ordered metric spaces. The main result is an extension and a generalization of many existing results in the literature. An example is also considered to illustrate the main result.

Further Fixed Point Results on g-metric Spaces
(Springer int Publ Ag, 2013) Karapinar, Erdal; Agarwal, Ravi P.
Very recently, Samet et al. (Int. J. Anal. 2013: 917158, 2013) and Jleli-Samet (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012: 210, 2012) noticed that some fixed point theorems in the context of a G-metric space can be deduced by some well-known results in the literature in the setting of a usual (quasi) metric space. In this paper, we note that the approach of Samet et al. (Int. J. Anal. 2013: 917158, 2013) and Jleli-Samet (Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012: 210, 2012) is inapplicable unless the contraction condition in the statement of the theorem can be reduced into two variables. For this purpose, we modify some existing results to suggest new fixed point theorems that fit with the nature of a G-metric space. The expressions in our result, the contraction condition, cannot be expressed in two variables, therefore the techniques used in (Int. J. Anal. 2013: 917158, 2013; Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2012: 210, 2012) are not applicable.

Fixed Points of Weakly Compatible Mappings Satisfying Generalized Φ-Weak Contractions
(Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Soc, 2015) Vetro, Calogero; Chauhan, Sunny; Karapinar, Erdal; Shatanawi, Wasfi
In this paper, utilizing the notion of the common limit range property, we prove some new integral type common fixed point theorems for weakly compatible mappings satisfying a phi-weak contractive condition in metric spaces. Moreover, we extend our results to four finite families of self mappings, and furnish an illustrative example and an application to support our main theorem. Our results improve, extend, and generalize well-known results on the topic in the literature.

    (2012) Aydi,H.; Karapinar,E.
A fixed point theorem involving Boyd-Wong-type cyclic contractions in partial metric spaces is proved. We also provide examples to support the concepts and results presented herein. Copyright © 2012 Hassen Aydi and Erdal Karapinar.
