Conference Object Citation Count: 2A new approach to threat tracking on ESM systems by using Kalman filters;(2009) Kara, Ali; Kara,A.; Akar,B.; Tümay,A.; Dinçer,K.; Department of Electrical & Electronics EngineeringKalman filtering (KF) is a form of recursive estimator, which has been widely applied to different applications. This paper discusses a new approach, based on a discrete event process, for tracking of threats (emitters). Pulses of a particular threat from received mixed (raw) pulse sequences of multiple threats corrupted by timing jitter and measurement noises are aimed to be tracked. Required parameters to initiate KF are taken from identification algorithm which begins before KF algorithm. Hereby, KF runs on mixed pulse train. The algorithm based on KF is adaptive to both the noise and missing pulses together with large time gaps between pulses of the threat. The algorithm is robust and efficient due to the fact that it includes various distinctive parameters of the threat such as frequency (TF), pulse width (DG), angle of arrival (GA) and scan patterns (TO). ©2009 IEEE.Book Part Citation Count: 0Political Consumerism and Social Networking Usage: A Case Study(IGI Global, 2021) Özgen, Özge; Sukuroglu,V.K.; Özgen, Özlen; Physics Group; Public Relations and AdvertisingThe main purpose of the study is to reveal the relations between the internet and social media usage and the basic motives behind the actions and engagements of political consumers departing from the thoughts and individual experiences of scholars. Therefore, the study first draws a framework of the political consumer, political consumerism, and the effects of political consumerism. Then it investigates the link between the internet and social media use and the aforementioned concepts. In other words, the purpose of the study is to analyze the extent to which internet and social media use and increase the likelihood of engaging in political consumerism through the method of a case study. As a method of sampling, quota sampling method was chosen. The in-depth interviews were performed in a semistructured form to maintain the coherence and details. The results of this study and similar studies are thought to be beneficial for improving the quality of life for consumers, corporations, and governments related to agenda setting and policy making. © 2022, IGI Global.Book Part Citation Count: 0Political consumerism and social networking usage: A case study(IGI Global, 2020) Özgen, Özge; Sukuroglu,V.K.; Özgen, Özlen; Physics Group; Public Relations and AdvertisingThe main purpose of the study is to reveal the relations between the internet and social media usage and the basic motives behind the actions and engagements of political consumers departing from the thoughts and individual experiences of scholars.
