Turizm Destinasyonları için Sürdürülebilir Turizmin Önemi: Siirt İli Örneği

Abstract

İnsanların turizm faaliyetleri sonucu oluşan çevre sorunları, kirlilikle başlamış ve doğadaki canlıların yok olma noktasına kadar ilerlemiştir. Kültürel ve doğal değerlerin insanlığa ait ortak değerler olduğunun ve gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması gerekliliğinin öneminin anlaşılmasıyla beraber çevresel alanda koruma çalışmaları başlamış, bu çalışmalar sonucu sürdürülebilirlik kavramı ortaya çıkmış ve zamanla küresel bir boyuta ulaşmıştır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı; turizmin yeterince gelişmemiş olduğu Siirt destinasyonunun doğal ve kültürel değerlerin sürdürülebilir turizm ilkeleri doğrultusunda turizme kazandırılması, Siirt'in turizm potansiyelinin arttırılması ve İl'in markalaşması için yapılması gerekenleri belirlemektir. Araştırma yöntemi; 'Niteliksel Tasarım' türlerinden olan Niteliksel İçerik Analizi Tasarımıyla (kaynak/literatür taraması) içerik oluşturma, Niteliksel Saha Araştırması (gözlem yapma), Niteliksel Veri Toplama (derinlemesine mülakat) olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat yöntemine uygun açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan bir görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; Siirt destinasyonun kaynak değerlerinin korunması ve turizmin artması adına, yöresel mimarinin korunması ve restorasyonuna, İl'e özgü yerel mutfak, el sanatları gibi değerlerin turistik ürününe dönüştürülmesine, destinasyonun tanıtım faaliyetlerinin geliştirilmesine, İl'de turizm alanında nitelikli istihdam yaratacak eğitimlerin verilmesine, altyapı ve üstyapının geliştirilmesine yönelik düzenlemeler yapılmasına ihtiyaç olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda Siirt İl'i turizminin sürdürülebilir politikalarla yönetilmesini konusunda öneriler ortaya konmuştur.

Environmental problems which result from human activities on tourism started from pollution and reached to the point where the species are in danger of extinction when people relazied that cultural and natural values were the values which belonged to all the humans in common and they should be protected and transformed into next generations and environmental protection efforts reached a different point. Sustainability concept emerged and reached to a global point. The main purpose of this study is that Siirt destination in which tourism has not developed enough yet needs to gain importance for tourism towards tourism aims, to inscrease the tourism potential of Siirt and to make it landmark. The methods of resarch are creating a content by using qualitative content analysis design which is a type of qualitative design, qualitative field research (observing), qualitative data collection (in-depth interwiew). According to the results of the resarch, for preserving the values of Siirt destination and for promoting tourism we need to trasnform the local dishes and handcraft into touristic values, improve the promotion facilities, allow the employment opportunities related to tourism and make efforts to improve infrastructure and uppestructure. According to the data obtained, some suggestions regarding sustainable policies of tourism have been mentioned.
