Industrial Engineering is a field of engineering that develops and applies methods and techniques to design, implement, develop and improve systems comprising of humans, materials, machines, energy and funding. Our department was founded in 1998, and since then, has graduated hundreds of individuals who may compete nationally and internationally into professional life. Accredited by MÜDEK in 2014, our student-centered education continues. In addition to acquiring the knowledge necessary for every Industrial engineer, our students are able to gain professional experience in their desired fields of expertise with a wide array of elective courses, such as E-commerce and ERP, Reliability, Tabulation, or Industrial Engineering Applications in the Energy Sector. With dissertation projects fictionalized on solving real problems at real companies, our students gain experience in the sector, and a wide network of contacts. Our education is supported with ERASMUS programs. With the scientific studies of our competent academic staff published in internationally-renowned magazines, our department ranks with the bests among other universities. IESC, one of the most active student networks at our university, continues to organize extensive, and productive events every year.

Abstract

Bu tez; Türkiye'deki demiryolu sektörü için Kurumsal Kaynak Planlaması (KKP) seçimiyle ilgilidir. Tez boyunca iki farklı demiryolu sektörü firmasından bahsedilecektir; biri devlet firması diğeri ise özel sektör firması. İlk olarak, geçmişte yapılmış çalışmaların referans gösterildiği KKP hakkında genel bilgiler anlatılmaktadır. Daha sonra, Türkiye'deki demiryolu sektörüne göre uygun KKP sağlayıcı firma alternatiflerinden ve seçim kriterlerinden bahsedilmektedir. Sonraki bölüm, demiryolu sektörü için en iyi alternatifin seçilmesi için izlenecek olan seçim proseslerini içermektedir. En iyi KKP alternatifinin seçilmesi için iki farklı karar verme yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Bunlar; AHP ve TOPSIS yöntemleridir. Her iki yöntem de uygulamada birbirine entegre olarak uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, elde edilen sonuçlar Türkiye'deki demiryolu sektörüne göre değerlendirilmiştir.
This thesis is about Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) selection for railway industry in Turkey. Two different railway company will be mentioned during the thesis; one is state owned railway company and the other one is Private Sector Railway Company. Firstly, general information about ERP are explained with the references some past studies. Then, ERP vendor alternatives and ERP selection criteria are mentioned according to railway industry in Turkey. The next part consist of selection processes to select the best ERP alternative for railway industry. Two different multi criteria decision making method are applied to select the best ERP alternative in the thesis. The methods are Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Technic for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). They are integrated each other while applying to select the best alternative. Finally, the results of selection are evaluated according to railway industry in Turkey.
