Suriye'de lisans düzeyinde simultane çevirinin gereklilikleri

Abstract

Simultane çeviri çok dilli uluslararası ortamlarda iletişimi sağlayan bir köprü olarak kabul edilmektedir. Suriye içinde ve Suriye hakkında gerçekleşen bu uluslararası ortamların sayısının artması çok sayıda simultane çevirmen ihtiyacı doğurmuştur. Suriye'de asıl ihtiyaç duyulan nitelikli simultane çevirmen ve nitelikli simultane çeviri eğitimidir. Ancak Suriye'deki üniversitelerde bu eğitim verilmemektedir. Bu nedenle simultane çeviri programlarının hazırlanması için gerekliliklerin belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu tezin amacı, Idleb Üniversitesi İngilizce Bölümü'nde simultane çeviri dersi için kur tanımı önerileri sunmaktır. Bu amaçla, İngilizce Bölümü'ndeki 50 akademisyen ile açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yapılandırılmamış görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, simultane çeviri dersinin iki dönem sürmesi, ilk dönemin kuramsal altyapı sunulan bir giriş niteliğine sahip olması, ikinci dönemin ise ileri düzeyde simultane çeviri eğitiminin verilmesi gerektiği belirtilmiştir. Değerlendirmelerin ödevler ve sınavlarla yapılabileceği öne sürülmüştür. Çeviri dilleri olarak Arapça ve İngilizce seçilmiştir. Son olarak, ders içeriğinde psikoloji, iletişim becerileri, profesyonel ve etik davranışlar gibi çeşitli konuların ele alınması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır. At the moment, Syria needs a good number of simultaneous interpreters due to the increase in the number of international events that have been held in and about the country. The real demand is for qualified interpreters and the adequate quality of education on simultaneous interpreting. However, Syrian universities lack providing education on simultaneous interpretation. There is a need to define the requirements and skills that can be used in the creation of programs for simultaneous interpreting. The purpose of this thesis is to come up with suggestions for course descriptions for the requirements of simultaneous interpreting in the English department, Idleb University. The study is conducted by using unstructured interviews with the guidance of open-ended questions and the study population is fifty academic lecturers in the English department. The results demonstrate that the SI course is thought to cover two semesters with the first semester covering introductory sections and the second involving advanced simultaneous interpreting training. Assessment is carried out using assignments and examinations. The working languages for the course include Arabic and English.
