Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to identify and prioritize factors affecting remote work in Turkish companies in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The identification of the effective factors was undertaken through a literature review and application of the fuzzy Delphi method to establish the theoretical model of the research. Findings were prioritized using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method with information obtained from 86 individuals who teleworked for private firms in Türkiye. The results showed that, in the dimension of training, holding training courses, training on portals, and investigating staff specialization are important. In the individual dimension, important factors include work conscience, responsibility, and honesty, while in the dimension of technology information and communication infrastructure, software infrastructure, information infrastructure, and hardware infrastructure are of importance. Finally, the important factors of the cultural dimension include developing a culture of participation between people, firm culture, readiness to accept employees, and readiness of managers to delegate affairs to others.
