    The subject of this study is to analyze the right to information within in the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)’s unique approach to human rights. As being the first international human rights treaty of the 21st century, the CRPD has succeeded in transfering the legacy of the existing human rights notion to the legislation of the Convention and to the text itself. Accordingly the right to information of persons with disabilities is addressed as part of the access to information in current information societies. The access to information is also recognized as a fundamental right in the CRPD which is interpreted within the concepts of accessibility and access to justice. Therefore existing human rights categories should be reexamined through the actual perspective of the Convention. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the rights based approach of persons with disabilities against discrimination which aims to provide practical and easy to use resources for access to information with a special focus on the right to information.
