Book Part Citation Count: 1Finite element modeling of mechanical micromachining(CRC Press, 2017) Oliaei,S.N.B.; Demiral,M.The knowledge about all these phenomena is necessary to fabricate microparts, satisfying required dimensional and geometrical tolerances and surface quality requirements. Therefore, developing predictive techniques to improve the quality of microparts has emerged as an important research area. Several approaches have been used to predict outputs of microcutting operations including analytical modeling, numerical techniques, molecular dynamics simulation, and experimental studies. As experimental studies are costly and time consuming and as they are only valid for the conditions and range of machining parameters used in the experiments, numerical methods are used as an alternative method to predict machining process outputs. © 2018 by Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.Conference Object Citation Count: 1On the digital manufacturing development applying engineering informatics as a discipline of field study(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2018) Dadvandipour,S.; Oliaei,S.N.B.The digital manufacturing system is the process of product lifecycle management which considers the development of a perfect product. It provides the processing of manufacturing system, to be improved and optimized by the engineerings. Digital manufacturing has always been a promising technology to reduce production lead time, the cost minimization and responding to the marketing on time as well as producing qualified and quantified products over the last decades. This paper is a study review of digital manufacturing system model using holonic concept. The paper presents the characteristic of existing entities integrated with knowledge-based systems along with information science and technology. Furthermore, the paper shows an ongoing theoretical supplementary approach using computer-aided production and control (CAPC) system with three components, corresponding to the manufacturing of the products with the least time, optimum cost, and qualified product. © 2018 IEEE.Conference Object Citation Count: 1An ontology based semantic machine tool selection for multi scale wire edm processes(Trans Tech Publications Ltd, 2017) Sadigh,B.L.; Oliaei,S.N.B.; Dadvandipour,S.Manufacturing high-tech complex products which contain multi-scale complex features without outsourcing considering company's capabilities is quite difficult. Outsourcing some processes to other independent companies is a crucial step toward fabricating a product. To find the most suitable partner company several critical parameters should be considered including company machine-park, skilled personnel, infrastructure etc. Having comprehensive information about necessary machine tool(s) to outsourcing related manufacturing process is essential. Focusing on Wire Electro Discharge Machining (WEDM) process, the objective of this paper is to introduce a platform to store and analyze information and data about part(s) and machine tools and show out coming results as a list of capable machine tools to produce the desired parts with multi-scale features.
