Abstract
Özellikle gelişen teknoloji ile cep telefonlarının kabiliyetlerinin artması, bireylerin daha sık cep telefonu kullanmaya başlamasına sebep olmaktadır. Bireylerin cep telefonu kullanım sıklığı arttıkça bağımlı hale gelmekte ve cep telefonundan uzak kaldıklarında da kaygı hissederek nomofobik davranışlar sergilemeye başlamaktadır. Nomofobi, bireylerin cep telefonundan uzak kaldıklarında hissettikleri kaygı durumudur. Nomofobik bireylerde cep telefonu kullanmaya yönelik dürtüler meydana gelir. Bu günlük hayatta her an yaşanabilir.
Individuals are using mobile phones more frequently as mobile phones' capabilities improve with the advancement of technology. Individuals become addicted to mobile phones as the frequency of their use increases, and when they stay away from them, they start to exhibit nomophobic behaviors by feeling anxious. Nomophobia is the state of anxiety that individuals feel when they stay away from their mobile phones. Nomophobic individuals have the urge to use mobile phones. These impulses can be experienced at any time in daily life. In particular, the emergence of this urge in the workplace leads individuals to use mobile phones during working hours for non-work purposes, that is, cyberloafing. The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of nomophobia on cyberloafing among healthcare workers. For this purpose, an online questionnaire was applied to 494 health workers, and the obtained data were analyzed through a statistical package program. The nomophobia and cyberloafing scales developed by Yildirim and Correia (2015) and Orucu and Yildiz (2014), respectively, were used in this study. 'Student-T test', 'ANOVA' and 'TUKEY' statistical methods were applied to reveal the relationship between these scales and the demographic variables of the participants. As a result of the findings obtained from these analyses, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between both nomophobia and cyberloafing and demographic variables. In addition, a positive correlation was found between the independent variable nomophobia and the dependent variable cyberloafing (r = 0.487). In the suggestions part of the study, first of all, it was emphasized that managers should carry out activities to make their employees realize that nomophobia is a behavior disorder brought about by age. In addition, it has been suggested that online access barriers to cyberloafing negatively affect employees commitment to the institution and that administrators should revise their policies regarding the internet access of healthcare professionals.
