Türkiye'de Sektörel İhracat Dinamiklerinin Yeniden Değerlendirilmesi: Panel Eşbütünleşme Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, birim işgücü maliyetleri ve bunun bileşenlerinin sektörel ihracat üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışmadaki veri seti hem zaman hem de kesitsel boyutu içeren panel veri setinden oluşmaktadır. Panel veri seti Uluslararası Standart Sanayi Sınıflandırması, diğer bir adıyla 'The International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC)' altında sıralanmış 18 imalat sanayii sektörünü kapsamaktadır. Daha önce Saygılı (2010) 1995Ç1–2006Ç2 dönemi verilerini kullanarak konuyu incelemiştir. Bu çalışma 2013Ç1-2021Ç4 dönemi verileri ile çalışmanın analizlerini ve bulgularını yeniden değerlendirmektedir. Değişkenler arasındaki uzun dönem ilişkisi Pedroni eşbütünleşme testi ile analiz edilmiştir ve daha sonra Düzeltilmiş En Küçük Kareler Yöntemi (FMOLS) ile uzun dönem katsayılarına ulaşılmıştır. Pedroni eşbütünleşme analizi sonuçları, sektörel ihracat ile birim işgücü maliyetleri ve hatta bileşenleri arasında uzun dönemli eşbütünleşme ilişkisi olduğuna; FMOLS sonuçları ise ihracat ile birim işgücü maliyetleri arasındaki uzun dönem ilişkinin pozitif yönlü ancak Türk lirası ile negatif yönlü olduğuna işaret etmiştir. Saygılı (2010) sonuçları ile kıyaslandığında katsayı büyüklüklerinin zaman içerisinde ciddi değişiklikler gösterdiği ve sektörel ihracatın maliyet unsurlarına daha az duyarlı hale geldiği tespit edilmiştir. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of unit labor costs and its components on sectoral exports. The data set in the study consists of a panel data set that includes both time and cross-sectional dimensions. The panel data set covers 18 manufacturing industry sectors listed under the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC). Previously, Saygılı (2010) examined the issue using the data of the period 1995Q1-2006Q2. This study revisits the analysis and findings of the study with the 2013Q1-2021Q4 period data. The long term relationship between the variables was analyzed with the Pedroni cointegration test and then the long term coefficients were obtained with the Adjusted Least Squares Method (FMOLS). Pedroni cointegration analysis results show that there is a long-term cointegration relationship between sectoral exports and unit labor costs and even their components FMOLS results point out that while the long-term relationship between exports and unit labor costs is positive it is negative with the Turkish lira. When compared with the results of Saygılı (2010), it was found that the coefficient sizes showed significant changes over time and sectoral exports became less sensitive to cost factors.
