Abstract

One of the important components of the health sector is pharmacy services. Pharmacy services are carried out by public pharmacists and community pharmacists. As in every profession, pharmacists experience stress in their work lives. Because the people it deals with are patients and their relatives. Most of the time, this customer group does not show rational behavior like other customer groups. Additionally, night shifts are among the factors that cause stress in the work environment. In this study, we tried to determine the job stress levels experienced by pharmacists operating in Ankara and to determine the relationship between stress and job satisfaction. For this purpose, the data given to 361 community pharmacists selected by convenience sampling method was tried to be calculated using the survey technique. As a result, it was seen that the most common stress factor experienced by community pharmacists was medication shortage, with a rate of 99.4%. It was determined that job stress levels differ according to gender, men experience higher levels of stress than women with 59% , and job satisfaction levels are most intense according to age <34. Finally, a negative relationship (r=-0.167; p=0.001) was determined between job stress and job satisfaction.
