The aim of Atılım University Department of Tourism Management is to train tourism managers who are able to compete at an international level by offering quality education opportunities. Graduates employed as managers in the fields of accommodation, travel, catering, gastronomy, transportation, congress, conference organization begin their professional life while they are still interns. The academic staff consists of faculty members who are experts in their field, as well as sector professionals. With five years of education including the preparatory English courses offered, the courses of the department are in English. The course program consists of applied and theoretical courses devised with respect to the global trends in tourism. Students perform their internship studies at hotel chains, A-Class travel agencies and professional tourism companies. Our Department is in contract with universities abroad within the scope of the Erasmus student Exchange program. With its quality of education documented by TURAK (Tourism Education, Evaluation and Accreditation Board), Atılım university Department of Tourism Management is the first undergraduate program in Turkey to hold the accreditation.

Abstract

Dünyada birbirine benzeme eğilimi gösteren yaĢam biçimlerine bir alternatif oluĢturması beklenen Cittaslow, yeni bir yaĢamsal iyileĢtirme metodu olarak yön bulmaktadır. Filmlerin insanların bilinçaltını da etkileyebildiği göz önünde tutulduğunda, hızlı yaĢama tepki olarak doğan bu akımın, daha çok insan tarafından bilinir hale gelerek, sürdürülebilir turizm ve yaĢam adına olumlu etkileri olması kaçınılmazdır. Cittaslow, yeni bir yaklaĢım olarak belirlenen kriterler doğrultusunda, turizm kadar ekonomik ve sosyal anlamda ülke geneline katkı sağlayan bir sanayinin, olumsuz etkilerini azaltarak, daha yaĢanılası bir ortam yaratmayı hedefler. Bu tez kapsamında turizmde yeni bir yaklaĢım olan Cittaslow kavramı ele alınmıĢ olup, Cittaslow'a iliĢkin öğelerin filmlerde yer alıĢ Ģeklinin analizini yapmaya yönelik bir çalıĢma gerçekleĢtirilmiĢtir. Tanıtım filmlerinin insanlara ulaĢmadaki hızı ön planda tutularak, tanıtım filmlerinin mevcut yapım Ģekli ve olması gereken durumlar nedenleriyle birlikte incelenerek ortaya konmuĢtur. AraĢtırma, ulusal beĢ, uluslararası üç film üzerinden yürütülmüĢtür. Filmlerin incelenmesinde sürdürülebilirlik ve sakin Ģehir olma kriterlerinin birleĢtiği noktalar baz alınmıĢtır. Temelde araĢtırmanın amacı, bu filmlerin hangi içerikler baz alınarak hazırlandığı, hazırlanan filmlerin yeterli olup olmadığı, tam olarak hangi amaca hitap ettiklerinin ortaya konmasıdır. Cittaslow movement was born as a reaction to the speed of life and is expected to show a direction to a new way of healing in today's world of similar lifestyles and be an alternative to them. As a model, in addition to the previous slowing down principles, Cittaslow embraces the technological improvements and the new life quality criteria. Keeping in mind that the subconscious of human could be influenced by films, it is inevitable them to effect people positively for tourism and lifestyle point of view, by getting known to more people. Cittaslow is found to be a buffer to renewed world's destructive identity and a new approach in the chaos of values, surrendered by humans to bear it as a result of the fast life. In accordance with its specific criteria, it aims to create a more livable environment by reducing the negative effects of industry that contributes the country's material wellbeing economically and socially as well as tourism industry. In this thesis, Cittaslow was taken as a new approach in tourism and a study aiming to analyze the way the components of it taking place in the films was carried out. By taking into consideration of the speed of films to reach people, the actual and the expected cases were investigated and presented including their reasons. Research was carried out on five national and three international films. Thestudy was based on the points that merge on being a sustainable and quiet citycriterion. The purpose of the study was to manifest on which contents they were based on, if the films were adequate and to which purpose they serve.
