Abstract

The new social movements have had a significant role, in affecting the whole of the social and in their capacity to transform the social, since the last quarter of the previous century. As one such example, the LGBT movement was dealt with in this project. In order to analyze the dynamics of the movement and the dynamics of the social in which it is formed, the Ankara based representative of the movement ? the association entitled Kaos GL ?was chosen as the case study. In the specifics of this case, the central concepts against which the LGBT movement in Turkey situates itself and around which it formulates its counter-hegemonic struggle, were analyzed in accordance with the theories of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe.
