Terör ve Toplumsal Olayların Turizm Talebi Üzerine Etkileri: Türkiye Örneği

Abstract

Çalışmanın amacı terör ve turizm kavramları ile ilgili yapılan çalışmaların incelenerek terör olaylarının turizm sektörü ve ülke ekonomilerine olan olumlu ya da olumsuz etkilerinin tespit edilerek çözüm önerileri sunulması oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada, içerik analizi araştırma yöntemi olarak belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca online ve basılı olarak elde edilen kaynaklarda literatür taraması yapılarak, terör ve turizm kavramlarına değinenlerin ortak bir çalışmada toplanması çalışmanın yöntemi arasındadır. Çalışma Türkiye'deki terör olaylarının turizme etkisinin araştırılması nedeniyle yalnız Türkçe dilinde yazılmış ve konu ile ilgili çalışmaları kapsamaktadır. Yapılan çalışma 2005-2019 yılları arasında yapılan akademik çalışmalar ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Çalışama sonucunda yaşanan terör olaylarının hem turizmi hem de ülke ekonomisini olumsuz yönde etkilediği görülmektedir. Ayrıca medyanın belirli bölgede yaşanan terör olayını ülke genelindeymiş gibi yansıtması sonucu turistlerde olumsuz algının oluşması ve bu olumsuz algı sonucu turist tercihlerinin farklı destinasyonlara dönerek turist sayılarında azalışa, turizm gelirlerinde düşüşe ve ekonomik sıkıntılara neden olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Buna ek olarak terörist eylemlerin olumsuz etkilerinin bir sezonda ortadan kalmadığı etkilerinin uzun süre devam ettiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Anahtar Sözcükler: Terör, Terörizm, Turizm

The aim of this study is to examine the studies on the concepts of terrorism and tourism and to determine the positive or negative effects of the terrorist incidents on the tourism sector and national economies and to propose solutions. In the study, content analysis was determined as a research method. In addition, literature review is made in the sources obtained online and in print, and the method of the study is to collect those who refer to the concepts of terrorism and tourism in a joint study. To investigate the effects of tourism due to terrorism activities in Turkey in the Turkish language and covers only written works on the subject. The study was limited to academic studies conducted between 2005-2019. As a result of this study, it is seen that the terrorist incidents have a negative impact on both tourism and the national economy. In addition, the negative perception of tourists as a result of the media reflecting the terrorist incident in the region as if it were throughout the country and as a result of this negative perception, it has been determined that tourist preferences have turned to different destinations, causing a decrease in the number of tourists, a decrease in tourism revenues and economic problems. In addition, it was concluded that the negative effects of terrorist acts did not disappear in one season and the effects continued for a long time. Keywords: Terror, Terrorism, Tourism
