Sağlık Çalışanlarına Göre Medikal Turizm Endeksi Faktörlerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, medikal turizmde rekabet gücünü etkileyen faktörlerin sağlık profesyonelleri gözüyle Türkiye açısından ortaya konmasıdır. Bu amaç aynı zamanda Türkiye'nin sağlık turizminde rekabet önceliği sağlaması açısından kritik öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışma Türkiye'de çalışmakta olan 388 sağlık çalışanı üzerinde anket uygulanarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Son yıllarda gelişmekte olan medikal turizm hem gelişmiş hem de gelişmekte olan ülkeler adına avantaj sağlayacak nitelikler barındırmaktadır. Ülkelerin güçlü oldukları alanların farkına varıp bu alanlarda daha yoğun çalışmasına, zayıf oldukları alanları geliştirmesine ve potansiyel sağlık turisti çekmesi için ne yapması gerektiğine dair hazırlanmış olan bu tez dünyadaki belirli sağlık turizmi konumlarını ele almaktadır. Ülkeler yalnızca sağlık turizmi sunmakla kalmayıp, sağlık hizmeti öncesi, sırası ve sonrasında da tamamlayıcı hizmetler sunmaktadır. Medikal turizmde rekabet edecek ülkelerin hangi alanlarda ne gibi rekabet üstünlüğüne sahip olduklarının belirlenmesi, potansiyel medikal turistlerini hangi alanlarda kendilerine çekebilmeleri ancak oluşturulacak bir endeks ile ortaya çıkarılabilir. Çalışma medikal turizmin bileşenlerinin ortaya konması ve bu bileşenlerin ağırlıklarının analitik yöntemlerle belirlenmesi açısından hem çalışma alanına önemli bir katkı hem de teoride önemli bir kaynak olma niteliğindedir. Çalışmada, uluslararası geçerliliği olan açıklayıcı faktör analizine dayalı bir yaklaşım benimsenmiştir. Çalışma sonunda medikal turizmin maliyet, destinasyon, sağlık kurumları ve insan kaynakları olmak üzere dört bileşenden oluştuğu, ayrıca bu bileşenlerinin birbirine yakın ağırlıkta olduğu bulunmuştur.

The aim of this study is to reveal the factors affecting competitiveness in medical tourism from the perspective of health professionals in Turkey. This aim is also of critical importance in terms of providing competitive priority in Turkey's medical tourism. This study was carried out by applying a questionnaire on 388 health workers working in Turkey. Medical tourism, which has been in development in recent years, has features that will provide advantages for both developed and developing countries. This thesis, which was prepared about what countries should do to realize their strengths, work more intensively in these areas, develop their weak areas and attract potential health tourists, deals with certain medical tourism locations in the world. Countries not only offer medical tourism, but also provide complementary services before, during and after health care. The determination of the competitive advantage in which areas of the countries that will compete in medical tourism and their ability to attract potential health tourists can only be revealed with an index to be created. The study is both an important contribution to the field of study and an important source in theory in terms of revealing the components of medical tourism and determining the weights of these components with analytical methods. In the study, an approach based on explanatory factor analysis with international validity was adopted. At the end of the study, it was found that medical tourism consists of four components: cost, destination, health institutions and human resources, and these components weights are close to each other.
