The Atılım University Department of International Relations was founded in 1997. International relations is a field of science where the relations among states, organizations and other players in the international system are researched and observed. The field of international relations is also an interdisciplinary field, combining areas such as economy, history and political science to research on topics such as human rights, global poverty, environment, economy, globalization, security and global ethics. Offering three Graduate Degree programs in addition to the undergraduate program, the Department of International Relations continues to graduate individuals from its Graduate Degree Program in European Union Studies, as well as its Graduate Degree programs in Turkish and English.

Abstract

Siyaset sahnesinde rekabet eden bütün siyasal partilerin hedefleri en fazla oy oranını alıp iktidara ya da yönetime gelmektir. Bu hedefe ulaşabilmek için seçmenlerin beklentilerini, davranışlarını ve bu davranışları etkileyen faktörleri ayrıntılarıyla bilmek isterler ve seçim stratejilerini bu beklentiler doğrultusunda oluştururlar. Bu çalışmanın amacı Malatya İli İnönü Üniversitesinde seçmenlerin, seçmen davranışlarını ve bu davranışları etkileyen faktörleri belirlemektir. Araştırma nicel bir araştırma olup veriler toplam 401 seçmenin katıldığı yüz yüze anket yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre seçmenler seçim dönemlerinde kendilerini en çok etkileyen yerel medya organını televizyon (%34,2) ve sosyal medya (29,4) olarak belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca seçmen davranışlarını, aile, parti lideri, etnik köken gibi faktörlerin geçmiş dönemlere oranla daha az etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Araştırma neticesinde seçmen davranışlarına etki eden en önemli faktörün yönetimdeki iktidarın sergilediği ekonomik performans olmuştur. Seçmenlerin ideolojileri de halihazırda oy verme davranışına önemli oranda etki eden bir başka faktör olarak belirlenmiştir. The goals of all political parties competing in the political scene are to get the most votes and come to power or government. In order to achieve this goal, they want to know in detail the expectations and behaviors of the voters, and the factors affecting these behaviors and they form the election strategies in line with these expectations. The aim of this study is to determine the behaviors of the voters at Inonu University in Malatya and the factors affecting these behaviors. The research was a quantitative study and the data were collected by face to face questionnaire method with a total of 401 voters. According to the findings of the research, voters stated that the most influential local media during the election period were television (34.2%) and social media (29.4). In addition, it was found that factors such as family, party leader and ethnicity affected voter behaviors less than previous periods. As a result of the research, the most important factor affecting the voter behaviors was the economic performance of the government. Voters' ideologies have also been identified as another factor that has a significant impact on voting behavior.
